Let Us Show Our Gratitude, They Cried Out In Unison
Yes, it’s time to remind patrons that this rickety barge, on whose seating your arses rest, is kept afloat by the kindness of strangers. If you’d like to help it remain buoyant a while longer, and remain ad-free, there are shiny buttons below the fold with which to monetise any love. Debit and credit cards are accepted. If one-click haste is called for, there’s a QR code in the sidebar, at which you point your phone, and my PayPal.Me page can be found here. As requested, I’ve added SubscribeStar and Ko-Fi accounts, via which love may also be monetised, whether as one-off donations or monthly subscriptions.
Additionally, any Amazon UK shopping done via this link, or for Amazon US via this link, or via the buttons in the sidebar, results in a small fee for your host at no extra cost to you. Feel free to buy things wildly and in bulk. Office supplies, toilet paper, a new washing machine. It’s all good.
For newcomers wishing to know more about what’s been going on here for the last sixteen years, in over 3,000 posts and close to 200,000 comments, the reheated series is a pretty good place to start – in particular, the end-of-year summaries, which convey the fullest flavour of what it is we do. A sort of blog concentrate. If you like what you find there… well, there’s lots more of that. Do take a moment to poke through the discussion threads too. The posts are intended as starting points, not full stops, and the comments are where much of the good stuff is waiting to be found. And do please join in.
As always, thanks for the support, the comments, and the company.
Oh yes. The buttons.
Should cover my bar tab. 🙂
Ping!
Bless you, sir, and bless you, madam. May you always be able to find the correct size of bin liner, thus avoiding the need for something akin to origami, but with more tutting and cursing.
Skillz.
Bookmarked the Amazon link. I needed a quick way to get there so why not? Hope it helps, I use Amazon a lot.
*pings tip jar*
Thanks, David
Bless you both. May you always remember to put plenty of extra cheese on the store-bought pizza.
For those who misses this gal positively giddy that she got a cookie, she now has an update as to why you should reject cookies.
Also, an entitlement issue.
Ping.
Some left-over thoughts: National parks–I guess the problem is that the train doesn’t go there? Therefore racist? In the South (US) in the rural areas, black folks were (looking back 50 yrs) avid hunters and fishermen. Growing up in big urban areas I was always able to find woods to go for a walk. Perhaps not in UK. To claim that POC can’t find any is like the claim that they don’t know how to get ID to vote.
For those missed it, we’ve been talking about this rather farcical article – one of many that seem based on the same template.
The author of the piece, Ms Natalie Morris, is of course a Guardian contributor, and therefore schooled in the required contortions.
I can only speak regarding the Peak District National Park, which is literally a five-minute drive away. There is public transport to the park and the villages in it, though the buses and trains may not be frequent by urban standards. Maybe once an hour. But that’s pretty much the nature of a National Park.
Well, the article does rather reek of the racial condescension favoured by self-styled ‘progressives’.
I’ve been reading your blog for ages, David. Finally clicked the button. 🙂
Did it work?
[looks for loose change in bottom of purse]
Ping!
It did indeed. And bless you, sirs, and bless you, madam. Should you decide to buy a new sofa, may the price include some burly chaps hauling away the old one.
I did not know this.
They bring gifts.
“That’s not fair to her or to me.“
New subgenre discovered.
You can fool some of the people . . .
This is supposed to make polyamory look good…?
Also ping!
Bless you, madam. May you know the satisfaction of a sturdy, reliable, zippable freezer bag.
Pinged… I see your well deserved gratitude request post here got linked at Insty via Special Ed. Done in his not-as-helpful-as-it-could-be Special Ed kind of way.
That’s one serious rabbit hole.
P.S. *ping*
Bless you, sirs. May you find ample parking.
I’ll take that as a compliment.
It’s been a long day and it’s almost time for me to be horizontal, but thanks to all who’ve chipped in so far, or subscribed, or done shopping via the Amazon links, including all those much too shy to say hello.
It’s much appreciated and is what keeps this place here.
Is it OK if I just leave this here?

Is it OK if I just leave this here?
Well, that depends. If David tells you no, will you remove it, or will you throw a tantrum like the nitwit in the story?
(Kidding, of course.)
Might be real but smells like things from the Things That Never Happened file.
That.
Tip jar hit.
But these articles are very much of a type – they’re practically interchangeable – and they all seem geared to the racially neurotic. Imagine the levels of contrivance required to think that, for instance, Mr Adeyemi’s gratuitously provocative and antisocial attitude will somehow invite sympathy.
It’s a phenomenon we’ve seen before, fairly vividly:
Ben Sixsmith has some related thoughts.
Bless you, sir. May you never be presented with a flaccid crumpet.
Band name.
Consider yourself pinged.
Bless you, sir. May your white kitchen surfaces be unstained by turmeric.
Ben Sixsmith has some related thoughts.
I don’t claim to be any kind of expert on religion, nor am I saying a
BAMEPOGM can’t be a member of the CoE, but I am thinking that the etymology and history of “Anglican” might give a clue that maybe including, for example, Rastafarian rites might be straying a bit.On the subject of the ludicrous term POGM, I thought Asians (at least East Asians) were hwite adjacent, and even if not, aren’t they the real POGM?
I suppose cutting to the chase and going to “blankes and nie blankes” is out of the question.
Are you a non-POGM? Good news, then fuggedaboudit, you are a made man!
Majority? That would be women, right? Oh…well…still…probability wise or even improbability wise…whatever any of that means.
Ladies, surrender your toilets.
Ladies, surrender your toilets.
Note this response there:
Good men need to help us. If you see a man heading for the women’s bathroom or gym locker room, say something. Either stop him, or loudly announce “A MAN IS COMING IN, BEWARE .” They are violent, they always want to slap or shoot us if we say one word.
Hm, so a woman needs a man to stand up for her and protect her. Where have I heard of that concept before?
Ben Sixsmith has some related thoughts.
It’s like watching Lou Costello’s thought process in “do you have two tens for a five” where he can’t figure out a principled basis for the sequence of transactions that have taken place, but he’s pretty sure that more money has gone in one direction than the other.
Why is it that small numbers used to be the good guys who needed protection from being picked on by the big numbers, but now the big numbers are the good guys whose rightful place is being usurped by the small numbers? Because whites are becoming minorities in what used to be their own electoral districts, cities, countries.
Whites aren’t an ethnic minority in Indonesia or any other non-white country in the sense of their small numbers giving them any moral leverage. They’re guests who can be asked to leave if they get in the way of Indonesians running their own country as they see fit.
Just like a fish needs a bicycle, I would like to say to all those feminists.
“Global Majority”: whites indeed have no rights even if a minority. In Uganda, Idi Amin forced whites and Indians to leave. In Rhodesia, whites had to leave and their land was taken. The standard of living plummeted. In S. Africa, blacks took over and the country is heading south. If you live on the south side Chicago, you do not get any special protection. The opposite. We are the new devils.
As to everyone belonging to the global majority: immigrants from India and Iran (as examples I know well) act white culturally and do not view themselves as allied with blacks or hispanics. Asians are victims of hate crimes by blacks and college discrimination by the woke. Brown-ness is not that great of a unifying force as they claim.
As noted here,
Other words are available.
Hm, so a woman needs a man to stand up for her and protect her.
Women don’t need men…unless there is a fire, or a barking dog, or a homeless person, or a spider, or something on a high shelf, or or or…
Re my previous, it’s worth noting how our progressive betters so often seem determined to applaud and encourage precisely the kind of practised victimhood and chippy, whiny self-absorption that, in the real world, doesn’t generally result in a warm welcome.
For that matter, see also the post on supposedly “racist” traffic cameras, and the familiar excuses for antisocial, indeed sociopathic, behaviour.
One might almost begin to wonder if there were a pattern.
racist traffic cameras: a traffic camera cannot tell what race the driver is. Unless you are claiming that POC can’t help themselves, and obeying rules is racist (a revealing view itself), the claim simply reveals that you are delusional. Even tickets given by cops is dubious–have you ever tried to guess the race or even sex of someone in a car in front of you or with tinted windows? I can’t. Cops can? Do they have esp?
The POC – well, their lavishly remunerated ‘representatives’ – claim just that.
