The Crosswalk Will Be Mined To Protect It From Dirty Shoes
In somewhat-surreal-modernity news:
The release continued: “Officers observed widespread damage as black scuff marks consistent with scooter wheels were observed across the entirety of the mural… Attached to the release were two photos demonstrating the extent of the damage, both of which showed faint black marks on the street painting consistent with thin tire marks.
Sensitive readers may wish to look away now:
Traumatic scenes of the desecration taking place can be found below:

The situation is of course terribly fraught and further complications have been uncovered by our tireless media professionals:
After allegedly causing “widespread damage” – again, see photo, above – three suspects have been arrested and charged with first-degree malicious mischief, a class-B felony:
Clearly, feelings run high.
“At a time when our teams at Lime are beginning pride celebrations around the globe, it is disturbing to see the hate taking place in Spokane,” he added. “We will not let the hateful few spoil the joy of Pride Month in Spokane, and are grateful for those working to make Spokane more welcoming for all.”
Though it occurs to me that the pretentious weeping currently underway could have been avoided by not painting one’s weird religious symbols on the chuffing road at a busy intersection. As if that were a perfectly normal thing to do, and in no way a potential irritant or an invitation to mischief.
And then, inevitably, the sly conflation:
At which point, readers may wonder whether the children’s scootering, and the wider disaffection for the increasingly cluttered and kaleidoscopic Pride flag, may have less to do with “homophobia,” as claimed, and rather more to do with a symbol that is now associated with creepy, compelled unrealism, fantasy pronouns, and the steering of children towards experimental drugging and surgical mutilation. The kinds of things that many people, including many gay people, might find a little contentious, or alienating, or morally repugnant.
That the repeatedly ‘enhanced’ Pride flag now represents a range of things to which a great many people, including gay people, might conceivably take exception – or find obnoxious, indeed degenerate – is apparently unthinkable. Or at least unsayable. And so, with the deploying of the word “homophobia,” gay people are being used as a rhetorical shield against objections to, for instance, pornography in schools, the ideological grooming and sexualisation of children, and cross-dressing men in women’s intimate spaces.
However, pretentious howling is very much in fashion, and so,
I’m guessing the wear and tear caused by normal foot traffic will be monitored closely. Dog walkers will doubtless be urged to avoid the sacred space at all costs, lest the unthinkable occur.
Heavens, three buttons. I wonder what they do.
That. I’ve lost track of all the new things I’m supposed to be an ‘ally’ of. I think that’s the idea.
Oh yes. Almost certainly. It’s not unlike trying to pick a bundled TV subscription package. “Well, I do like the movies, and my husband likes the sport, but I’m not sure about the super-niche pornography or the Heavy Breathing Paedophile Channel.”
*inserts Clarkson “oh no. Anyway…” meme*

Among other things.
Pride goeth before destruction (Proverbs 16:18 KJV). Looking forward to July.

Purporting? What a strange way to phrase that statement, as though they may be ‘allies’ but they could also be fifth-columnists. There’s ever so slight ‘Capt. Queeg under cross-examination’ vibes from that.
God almighty, I’d
forgotten aboutrepressed any memory of him.You know, as an older woman, I can be quite clumsy bringing home cans of paint that I intended for my kitchen. Might even trip and fall such that one could open unexpectedly whilst crossing the pride flag mural.
But madam, you mustn’t oppress the newly emboldened but previously downtrodden cross-dressing piss fetishists.
That wouldn’t do at all. Tsk tsk.
Purporting? What a strange way to phrase that statement
Look at the low-quality prose in the rest of the report, tho. Pretty good chance the author doesn’t actually know what it means “to purport” something.
The modern journalist’s primary tool: Google. “synonym apparent.”
2 seconds of ‘work’, no intellect involved.
They PAINTED THE ROAD. What did they expect?
You’d think that these clever and immensely caring people, our self-styled betters, might register that the ubiquity of the Pride flag, and its intrusion into places it doesn’t belong – has coincided with its expanded connotations. Connotations with which some people – quite reasonably – may take issue.
But if you’re someone who, for instance, finds this prospect less than reassuring – say, for reasons touched on here – then the only permissible explanation is that you’re seething with bigotry and “hate.” And must therefore be scolded.
Maybe because the journalist is aware that some public statements of “allyship” are made only under duress.
That entire thread is a cornucopian compilation of insanity and evil.
They PAINTED THE ROAD. What did they expect?
Not sure what they expected, but I reckon something like this is what they want.
Well, it’s a suitably vivid reminder that when quite disparate phenomena are being bundled together, slyly, followed by demands that all of those things must be affirmed as a package, all or nothing, then some discernment may be in order. And perhaps outright refusal.
I remember seeing an old movie in which the main character, a teenage boy, was running through his village, when the church bells rang. He turns to face the church, walking backwards slowly while the bell rings, and runs off when they stop.
The ssme deference is now expected for the Pride flag, enforced by GPS.
Not downtrodden enough from the sound of it.
Stop taking the piss. We all know there’s no such thing as an aware journalist.
“Do you have any tactics? How are you going to do it?”
“I mean, not die.”
See calf, golden
How about “aware” in the sense of “aware of fake allies who are an intolerable threat to the well-being of crazies and monsters”
You would think the gay community would interpret children playing over such a symbol as a positive thing, an affirmation of their lifestyle.
So let’s see if I have this straight:
Cross/crucifix in a glass of urine = Art!
Burning an American flag (or destroying/stepping on a painted street mural of such) = Protest! (the good kind)
Dropping a Koran in a toilet, or even on the ground, ripping some pages = Blasphemy! Hate Crime!
Making skid marks on a Sacred Rainbow Pride Flag street mural = Blasphemy! Hate Crime!
Burning a Sacred Rainbow Pride Flag = Blasphemy! Hate Crime!
Separation of Church and State indeed.
Ferals rampage through stores clearing them out, and a$$holes block traffic to “protest” – both in clear violation of established laws, and cops look the other way, DAs won’t prosecute. But put a skid mark on a rainbow in pride month and the cops remember what their job is.
I wonder if the local constabulary and media would be so keen on arresting the miscreants if the skid marks were caused by melanin-gifted hoodies doing “sideshows” and not melanin-challenged children on scooters.
I can’t hardly believe how calling a painting on pavement a “mural” has become a trend. You’d think they’d have some sense of embarrassment but they embrace the manipulation of words to mean whatever they want. Mural literally means a painting on a wall with a Latin root meaning “a wall.”
Or unhappy Muhammadans. But that’s one of the more pernicious effects of the progressive value system, such as it is. It’s wildly inconsistent and contradictory, and seems to depend to a very large degree on where a person can be positioned in the Progressive Pecking Order. And it does this to a degree that makes any attempt at reciprocal coherence not only unfashionable but pretty much impossible.
And so, in order to belong, to be sufficiently woke, you have to learn to stop thinking clearly, at least about certain things.
And so, with the deploying of the word “homophobia,” gay people are being used as a rhetorical shield against objections to, for instance, pornography in schools, the ideological grooming and sexualisation of children, and cross-dressing men in women’s intimate spaces.
I know many people would like to distance themselves from the association, but that is impossible. It is all of a piece. The normalization of homosexuality leads inexorably to the rest.
This,^^^ absolutely. Because you must learn that thinking is dangerous, and so better smarter people than you will do it for you. QED
The reaction isn’t fear. It’s disgust. It’s a reflex. They’re born that way, intolerant bigot.
For a -proper- skidmark you use the front brake and apply power, kids.
Zoomers. [eyeroll] Can’t even do a decent burnout on a pride flag.
Pride flag: when you are protesting the equal treatment of women or POC, membership in those groups is obvious (well mostly for POC, but not for asian “brown” people) but when you want to be proud about your sexual preferences, and you want children to affirm you also, then your detailed sexual behavior needs to be up front and center, loud, public, and explicit. So you are told that children must know all about cross-dressing and oral sex and and and so that they will “accept” them, since that is what is represented in the pride flag. And the rainbow, which children love and has been a symbol for children for decades (see “reading rainbow” childrens show) is now a pride symbol. And children’s clothing departments must be decolonized.
In a sick sort of way, it is logical.
So let’s see if I have this straight
To know who rules over you, only learn who you are not allowed to criticize.
to be sufficiently woke, you have to learn to stop thinking clearly
You have to love Big Brother.
Do you own a minority sex servant?

Heh, I want to see Burr reply to that in the way that only Burr can. Then again, maybe that’s why the post was made in the first place.
Meanwhile.
No effort must be spared in rooting out false converts to the Holy Faith of Maximum Queerness.
I’m just going to leave this here for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Ditto this.
The blood eagle seems . . . apposite.
The Pacific Northwest is infested with insufferable white ninnies like this reporter and the Lime guy.
Related: ninnyhammer. (Found in the Aubrey-Maturin novels.)
These people just can’t get over themselves. It’s not supposed to be about them.
All the damn time.
It calls to mind the bearded, cross-dressing teacher who claimed that his wearing, in class, of garish make-up and stiletto heels – of which he owns several pairs and which he just happens to enjoy wearing – is purely for the benefit of the children, to make them feel “safe.”
Safe. In a position of obligatory deference to a transvestite narcissist.
And note that if you have reservations about your children being taught by a transvestite narcissist who clearly gets a thrill from transgressing normal boundaries, then you’re a “homophobe.”
That rhetorical shield again.
Still, I suppose it could be worse.
See also this, and this, and this, and any number of other items in the archives.
As I said following the third item,
How far we’ve come.
Gone.
How far we’ve gone.
Sunk.
How far we’ve sunk.
Still, that thread did have this, which falls in the definitely better category.
“Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.”
No doubt these same people would be upset at any similar treatment of the American flag were it painted on the ground.
IIRC, when someone painted MAGA on a street in 2020, it was vandalism straight up. Just sayin.
Still, that thread did have this, which falls in the definitely better category.
That video never gets old.
I note that burning the flag of this country is protected as speech. Compared to the present says that the powers that be consider the symbol of mental illness a greater symbol that that of our country.
No doubt these same people would be upset at any similar treatment of the American flag were it painted on the ground.
Was it the Israeli or American (or both) flags that were painted on the ground somewhere unhappy Muhammadans congregated, and if I recall correctly said unhappy Muhammadans trod on said painted surfaces (an insult in Muhammadan) as protest for being oppressed or something, and were lauded by these same types of people for doing so. Only rainbow flags are sacred symbols to these people. And Korans, because they like their heads to stay on their shoulders,
Both. At least according to one video I saw a few years ago. It was supposedly from Iran but as a form of anti-mullah counter-protest students were walking around the flags, refusing to step on them. Though everything is fake today and Iran is still a sh*thole so, who knows?
Queer supremacy
This is the part that I don’t understand at all. I know cops have to take orders from higher-ups, but seriously? Did they go through cop school and all that training to bust kids on scooters for lousing up some street paint?
Are they really that shackled by captured command structures? And if so, you almost have to admire the conspirators for making sure the police forces were on their side before unleashing the kraken.
Laughed. Not sorry.
As you can probably imagine, I’m not a fan of vandalism, whether it involves accelerant, or just the “vile act” of trundling about on a scooter. But the vigour with which some sins, even minor ones, are punished, as opposed to other, more serious transgressions, is sometimes hard to miss. And, I think, telling.
And again, the possibility that the Pride symbol may have acquired connotations that some people find disagreeable with good cause – say, the elevation of tiresome kinks to the status of unassailable “identities” – never enters the discussion. It’s apparently An Unthinkable Thing. We’re evidently not supposed to think of Pride, or anything bundled with it, as in any way contentious, or incongruous, or open for debate.
Which strikes me as rather more significant than a few scooter skid marks on a crossing.
Somewhat related: With regard to the left’s weaponization of the law to make war on conservatives, legal scholar John Yoo has, reportedly, said that it is now necessary for the right to do to the left what the left has been doing to the right, because only this sort of tit-for-tat will discourage the left from making lawfare a permanent part of its toolkit.
Indeed. The whole rainbow pride activism thing didn’t start to annoy me until people started shoving it in my face. Prior to that someone’s sexual orientation didn’t much interest or worry me. But then people started telling me I must publicly express approval of every kink imaginable, and my thinking began to change in ways they would have disliked.
But the vigour with which some sins, even minor ones, are punished, as opposed to other, more serious transgressions, is sometimes hard to miss.
The mistake the kids made was not kidnapping and killing an old lady while scooting.
Footnote of note.
It’s easier to bust kids on scooters than the guy jumped up on the drug du jour with a knife. Less chance of ending up on TikTok too.
The we-must-be-betters have been stymieing the punch-back-twice-as-hards for ages.
Feel free to nag me about finding a link. I keep meaning to do so, but, well, you know.
Bastards!!!
This is such a hyperaggressive policy. One can ignore flags. One cannot ignore the crosswalk at an intersection. It’s the same with pronouns. Forcing people to bow and scrape to our betters upon pain of incarceration or penury.
Indeed. My cable TV provider removed half the good channels from my “basic” package in an attempt to coerce me into paying even more for a premium package. Eff them; my library has lots of DVD’s of old movies.
😧
A flag painted on a road is a dare.
Are they really that shackled by captured command structures?
The police are not on your side, and haven’t been for quite some time. I haven’t got it to hand, but there’s video of Yvette Felarca repeatedly pummelling a counter-protestor in front of a line of riot cops who do nothing, while the counter-protestor repeatedly calls them out on their inaction in the face of assault and battery happening right in front of them.
I was at this meeting, although inside by the time this happened. There tons of police in attendance – 60 feet away, standing around and doing nothing. Bernier had to be rushed inside the venue surrounded by bodyguards to prevent him being swarmed by the crowd.
They’re Not. On. Your. Side.
only this sort of tit-for-tat will discourage the left from making lawfare a permanent part of its toolkit
It’s called the Prisoner’s Dilemma, and as aelfheld pointed out, most of the “right” isn’t on your side either.
Bezmenov’s demoralization is complete. All that remains is running out the clock to the inevitable civil war and invasion.
“He dindu nuffin! Why dey hafta kill him?” Dead punk’s parents sue racist po-leece for cruelly shooting their son when he merely shot a security guard after frightening bar staff and stealing liquor.
Not entirely unrelated, some flag priorities.
Pride Month.
Memorial Day.
Discuss.
A vanishingly small fraction of the liberals I know honor Memorial Day, which is one of many clues that that Memorial Day is a day too long for them.
It used to be that the flag would fly at half-staff on Memorial Day until noon, then be raised to full-staff. Does anyone still do that?
Exactly. It’s a swarming attack.
I am darkly amused at how his parents said he “did not pose a threat to anyone.”
That is the perpetual complaint of the dindu nuffin class.
Not entirely unfair.
