The drool, I think, was a hindrance to productive dialogue.
Troon cemetery (via Ambush Predator) No, really.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…something unnatural happened.
Ticking wouldn’t be a problem. The ratchet sound however . . .

Like cephalopods, dishonest academics also disappear in a cloud of ink.
Well, it’s not really arts bollocks is it?
Scarecrows are cheaper.
Los Angeles traffic report.
Well, I hope it lasts, though the lighter traffic is also a result of that Monday being the end of a 3-day national holiday. A goodly portion of workers tack that on as a vacation day to maximize time-off.
I grew up in The Valley in the 60s. Been unrecognizable for a good 30 years.
Had to watch that three times.
“Dumbledore and Gandalf watch Harry Potter. (h/t, Elephants Gerald)”
Absolutely brilliant!
Is today’s word ‘fatigue’?
Morning, all.
For seventeen seconds, there is a lot to take in. It’s action-packed.
I was quite entertained by Snape’s hair. I think Alan Rickman would have approved.
Attention, all foreigners.
I can’t believe these people get hired and taken seriously.
Readers may recall Ms Prescod-Weinstein, a self-styled “thought leader,” insisting that we must have deaf and disabled astronauts, supposedly in the name of fairness and inclusion. Because space exploration just isn’t difficult enough and dangerous enough as it is. And presumably on grounds that choosing astronauts with hearing problems, poor eyesight and motor-control issues will make things much more equitable, and exciting.
That Ms Prescod-Weinstein, whose practised fatuity is a thing to behold, has been employed to influence funding decisions in science is, as you say, darkly comical.
There was a video, now sadly deleted, embedded in the post linked above, in which Ms Prescod-Weinstein and her peers were hailed as a panel of “experts” – again, “thought leaders” – on science, astronomy and space exploration – yet they struggled with any question regarding even the most basic practicality. They showed zero expertise of any relevance, and indeed zero interest. It was all so beneath them.
At the end of the video, they were asked what they thought was the “right stuff” for modern astronauts. The kinds of temperament and qualities required of the job. The panel had no ideas at all, none whatsoever. There was simply an awkward silence, fifteen seconds of it, and a look of smug disdain. As if the question were insufficiently progressive, something one shouldn’t ask, or even think about.
Eventually, instead of answering the question, they badmouthed “whiteness” is if it were an obvious malady, something to fix, and made some quip about Mr Trump, and then asked how a mission to Mars would benefit Black Lives Matter.
You couldn’t, as they say, make this shit up.
That wry British humor.
No. I’m afraid ticking is a deal-breaker for me. A watch should be slim, stylish and silent. Those are the rules. A watch the size of a tennis ball and which sounds like a defective fax machine would send me over the edge.
It’s curious just how often the ideal of womanhood being expressed, the inner self being revealed, is really cheap hooker.
From Grok in thread: “The odds of being widowed four times are extremely low—less than 1 in 10 million… Gerald’s case seems suspiciously unlucky.”
I should add there’s also a YouTube channel.
Can we move him in next door to Zoe Williams?
It’s morally imperative that happens. Like, today.
For those who missed the reference.
A test of human patience.
I admit, I do not know exactly how tasers work but does excess body fat reduce their efficacy? Do they have settings so that an LEO can dial it up based upon the person’s BMI?

Meanwhile at the
University of HoustonGeorge Floyd University…The video, do watch it, the “professor” rambles without a single original thought, 4 minutes and 55 seconds of recitation of SSDD leftist gospel. Yes he is a Canadian transplant so I am sure he is deeply steeped in the 3rd Ward of Houston.

At some point – somewhere around there, I’d say – what you’re seeing isn’t driven by politics, in the sense of a misapprehension that one might contest and refute. It has little to do with reality. Instead, it’s driven by pathology, a weird psychological orientation. And so, attempting to engage in rational, factual correction, any marshalling of facts, is pretty much pointless.
You just have to slap the demon out of them.
…it’s driven by pathology, a weird psychological orientation…
Speaking of which…
A) Run flat tires and ballistic glass – the perfect thing to take it out, (goes full screen) a tubby pink hair poking it with a Mexican flag.
B) Oklahoma – check. Tornado season – check. What better way to protest the government than by (rereads) attacking weather radar stations.
C) Higher education at it’s finest, a doctorate is awarded for a (bangs head on desk) drag show.
On that famed progressive empathy.
Again, that weird psychological orientation.
“What are the odds that someone who is a man who likes to dress in drag has other problems?”
Smug gullibility with a soupçon of dim.
Hold. That. Thought.
Woman noted only for having taken down a flag treats us to a geography lesson.
If by “we” she means “I”, she might want to note “Africa” means “sub-Saharan only” to her and other race obsessed but not the rest of the world.
Oh, I’d say it’s more than everyday credulity or dimness. There’s a compulsion to ignore the glaringly obvious and easily anticipated, to pretend the untrue. To depart from reality. And when disappointed and refuted, quite vividly, as for instance above, to go on making those same bizarre assumptions as if what actually happened has no bearing on what is.
That takes motivation.
That standard deviation can really bite you on the ass.
This makes them “daring”, “courageous”, “iconoclastic” and fit to rule the rest of us (or so their handlers tell them). They’re not at all gullible.
Useless people define “fairness” as jobs for useless people.
“Diversity and fairness,” you say.
Just because it’s adopted, embraced, and cultivated doesn’t mean it isn’t gullibility.
Isn’t that just a public library?
I’m as much a fan of the library as the next man, but they’re largely disused by the “broader community”. At least the broader community he has in mind.
It’s a shame the video, uploaded by Janice Fiamengo, has since been removed. It really was eye-widening in what it revealed about Ms Prescod-Weinstein and her peers. Including their utter inability to address basic realities, or to answer even simple questions in their professed areas of expertise. The boggling levels of evasion and shamelessness.
That weird psychological orientation.
Real-life Wakanda not quite finished.
Heh. Cute how she needed a health certificate to travel to the United States. The suitcase contents were rather…interesting.
“Stockings and pants… and more pants… and a bra.”
Speaking of practised unrealism – a thread.
Note madam’s use of “misogynist extraordinaire.” For his daring to note that little boys and little girls tend to differ in their behaviour.
Is anorexic Barbie far off?
What’s the betting she doesn’t have kids?
Real-life Wakanda not quite finished.
TBF, it could be argued that was accomplished. In an unintentional bit of irony look where the official website, akoncity.com, redirects… (SFW)
Ooh, need a gaming laptop from Prime sales, so…hits Amazon button!
It was no doubt waiting for a few hundred billion in government funding.
