Pejoratives Were Deployed
They’re bringing us together with their intersectional piety:
Gettysburg College has postponed a painting and writing event hosted by its Gender Sexuality and Resource Centre for people who are “Tired of white cis men.” The private Pennsylvania college offered the event as part of a peace and justice, or “P&J,” senior project, but has since postponed it after it was shared online. The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12, told people to “come paint and write about” how they are tired of straight, white men. The pieces from the event would then be displayed in the school’s dining hall for the campus to view.
For a mere $76,000 a year, you too can receive such lofty moral instruction.
Update, via the comments:
Connor adds, “It’s like everything they say has to be reversed.”
Well, yes, frequently. It’s not obvious, for instance, how “peace” would be achieved by cultivating a pretentious and competitive disdain for one’s classmates, and for random passers-by, based on their sex and skin colour. It’s also somewhat doubtful that the supposedly oppressive and fatigue-inducing properties of any other racial demographic would be a basis for an art event at an upscale college.
But as Lionel Shriver once put it, “Progressives seem especially prone to disguising one feeling as another.” And so, a contrived, self-flattering resentment – and outright bigotry – become acts of woke piety. And students are encouraged to believe that badmouthing people based on their skin colour is a thing one does in order to bond and make friends, and to impress others and thereby become statusful.
The Independent, inevitably, uses the term “conservative backlash” to account for the postponement of the event, which, we’re told, wasn’t officially endorsed by the college. It was, it seems, merely something in the air. As it so often is in progressive academia.
And only “conservative activists” – complete with implied disapproval and rumblings about recruiting others – warrant a mention. As if the only activism to be concerned about were that of those objecting to the assumptions and sentiments on display. We’re told that students were merely invited to “express their feelings about America’s dominant identity group.” Though any feelings were clearly assumed by the organiser to be necessarily negative, as if no demurral were conceivable. As if resentment and fatigue were the prevailing fashion, the only right answers.
It is, I think, curious that so many students should begin exhibiting sentiments of this kind, and others much like them, often quite emphatically, upon exposure to academia’s Clown Quarter. A fiefdom of the woke. But that kind of activism, which is much more pervasive and indeed institutional, needn’t concern us, it seems.

Connor, they have all read 1984. They thought Airstrip 1 sounded like a good place.

Now do any other group…
Ah, but if you do that, you’ll reveal just how obnoxious the psychology in play is. And as we’ve seen many times, wokelings aren’t big on reciprocity.
’…private Pennsylvania college…’
Anyone remember when a statement like this meant you were sending your offspring to something better..?

The private Pennsylvania college offered the event … but has since postponed it after it was shared online.
It’s like they’re recruiting for a covert army: They have to be visible to their intended audience but not to anyone else. So much for the courage of their convections.
I can’t imagine why normal people would be suspicious of academia.
I can’t imagine why they would think the universities are full of evil monsters and amoral careerists.
Perhaps we can expect other events titled Those Tiresome Chinese People, or We Must Shun The Negro Lesbian, in which well-heeled students can whine at length, and to mutual applause, about how awful those demographics are.
For “peace and justice,” obviously.
Imagine the jolly creativity.

And only “conservative activists” – complete with implied disapproval and rumblings about recruiting and training others – warrant a mention. Cool. So, since we are allowed to “express our feelings” about identity groups, when’s the next “Tired of violent young black men” art project? No?
The best part is when this mixed race or adopted person apparently raised in middle class suburbia rants about gentification and the black experience.
She seems nice.

These creatures all seem to have the same, rather unsavoury, personality. There’s a uniform regurgitation. It’s almost eerie.

when’s the next “Tired of violent young black men” art project?
Not to mention psychotic young black women.
It’s as if these people want a race war.
Exodus 20:12 ,,, and karma is going to be a real bitch to her one day
She deserves to be cut out of her parents’ will.
Clueless. Non-discrimination means that it’s the worst crime in the world for white American protestants to run the liberal arts colleges and countries they founded on the principle of what’s good for their own people. Non-discrimination means being committed to the premise that all cultures are equally capable of creating high quality colleges and countries, and not just as a polite lie but pushed to the conclusion that unequal outcomes must be the result of theft or violence – whites being materially better only because they are morally worse. Non-discrimination means being obliged to accommodate students who say out loud that they hate your people and want them eliminated as a culture-forming majority.
Gettysburg College is advertising that 25% or whatever of its students are “diverse”, ie they don’t belong to the people who founded Gettysburg College. Why is the principle – the fewer of us whites there are the better – thought to be so noble? This isn’t the same thing at all as having a smattering of foreign and scholarship students as a gesture of generosity and to broaden the minds of the core student body.
The best part is when this mixed race or adopted person apparently raised in middle class suburbia rants about gentification and the black experience.
These folks are already practising segregation on college campuses and according to this young lady amongst their friends. How long until they impose their own miscegenation rules? Will those from all black families start telling this young lady that she can’t understand the black experience because she had a white father? Racial marxism has no end of potential oppressor/oppressed relationships.
She seems nice.
It’s the weird eye movements in the TikTok clips that scares me
…mixed race or adopted person apparently raised in middle class suburbia…
Difficult for such kids: fish out of water, neither one thing nor the other, and they resent whichever parent stuck around for putting them into that situation. On the other hand, the f*** you dad who paid for my college education attitude is one white girl norm that she has successfully assimilated to.
Only $76K ($300K for a four year degree – but how many will take longer?) at a highly-esteemed institution.
What a bargain!
David These creatures all seem to have the same, rather unsavoury, personality. There’s a uniform regurgitation. It’s almost eerie.
Educated into evil. I’m sure that some were unstable to begin with, but our schools and universities work non-stop to turn kids into insane, dysfunctional, and malevolent creatures.
I have to think an even titled “Tired of pretentious, spoiled brats.” wouldn’t go over nearly as well.
express their feelings about America’s dominant identity group
That would be white women, who slightly outnumber white men. As I’ve said before, all of this can be explained if you simply assume you are looking at nasty high school girls jockeying for who gets to be queen bee.
It’s as if these people want a race war
Yes, that’s exactly what they want. This is bog-standard Bezmenov demoralization, and we’ve reached the point where it’s too late to pull out. Collapse is inevitable; the only question is whether it will be a foreign tyrant or a domestic one that will take control afterwards.
Difficult for such kids: fish out of water…
If she is from Maine, Vermont, Montana, or secretly living in 1954 maybe, but anywhere else, especially down here south of The Line of Mason and Dixon, nobody would think twice about it.
OK, one might think, she is going to an HBCU so problems there, but the real fish out of water are the 17% (on average) of the student body who aren’t black – especially the yte devils.
Her rants about her father (who couldn’t have been much of a racist, obviously), Trump, and wypipo in general are just more of the boiler plate “I wanna be a victim” claptrap.
but anywhere else,…nobody would think twice about it.
Here in the Great White North too. My eldest son is adopted from Guatemala. The only place he felt remotely uncomfortable was Southern California where they looked at him like they wanted him to cut their lawn or clean their pool.
So, parents (or someone) pay one third of a million dollars for four years of ‘liberal arts & sciences’ at the 61st best liberal arts college in the US!? I looked at the (badly designed) academic portion of the website to see what students actually learn and it seems to be a mishmash of arts, social sciences and sciences.
First year seminar topics include: Shop class as soulcraft, What would Smokey* say? and Tea: an experiential history.
Who TF can afford to invest such huge sums in such guff? I know there is a lot of wealth in the US but really? Or do they just rack up the state-backed loans and never repay them?
*Bear, apparently…
Post updated.

Are you a woman of Trans experience, Butch, Boi, Stud, Fa’afafine, Mashoga*, or any other of the 97 genders? Are you Pansexual or Skoliosexual living in San Francisco in a car or van ?
If so, you may be eligible for The Transgender District GIFT Program, just fill out this short application today.

But how else are kids going to learn that white people drain brown people’s psychic energy?
Sounds a tad RACIST and SEXIST, but that’s just the old white man me talking!
Somehow I’d forgotten about that one. But then, there are so many examples.
Skoliosexual
What in the name of St. Michael the Archangel is “skoliosexual”? People who are attracted to spinal disorders?
[ Schedules tomorrow’s Ephemera, slumps over desk, emotionally spent. ]
What in the name of St. Michael the Archangel is “skoliosexual”? People who are attracted to spinal disorders?
You can’t tell them to “get bent” because they already are. Severely bent.
From a recent issue of City Journal: “The Real Story Behind Drag Queen Story Hour: Aimed at children, the phenomenon is far more subversive than its defenders claim…The ideology that drives this movement was born in the sex dungeons of San Francisco and incubated in the academy. It is now being transmitted, with official state support, in a number of public libraries and schools across the United States…Start with queer theory, the academic discipline born in 1984 with the publication of Gayle S. Rubin’s essay “Thinking Sex: Notes for a Radical Theory of the Politics of Sexuality.”…Following the work of the French theorist Michel Foucault, Rubin sought to expose the power dynamics that shaped and repressed human sexual experience…”
What in the name of St. Michael the Archangel is “skoliosexual”?
Near as I can make out, anyone attracted to any non-cis person, though how that is different from a pansexual (not those attracted to cookware) remains a mystery.
Like the alleged gender “travesti”, which all of this is, it appears only to be a choice of spelling.
Regardless, I expect the “Economic Empowerment Coordinators” will be flooded with suddenly “trans” people wanting some of that sweet, sweet, “Guaranteed Real Income For Trans” spondulix.
GIFT program…
The actual purpose of the program is evidenced right there in the sign-up form. Just how many staff and hours of work, do you think, went into putting that together? How many paid positions to handle, manage, report on, update, coordinate with City Hall, etc. etc.
GIFT program
There is an ‘r’ missing in the first word.
More on San Francisco’s guaranteed income program for trans people.
Because “special” people deserve a free ride.
I miss the days when all my liberal
friendsacquaintances demanded was that I be courteous to trans and other confused or socially dysfunctional people. Now I must publicly praise them and subsidize them. And remain silent while school teachers introduce them to our young children. Also, open thread. Share ye links and bicker.
As we are almost 50 comments in and I feel a need to vent to someone, anyone remotely sane left in this world…so please forgive me…
As I related recently, returning to my home in the Orlando area following hurricane Ian (what, six weeks ago now?) the gate to one of our HOA’s retention ponds broke open and is in need of repair. I know at some point, maybe this year, maybe last, I indicated to other members of the board that should a hurricane come while I am away, it would help the gate to put a couple concrete blocks at the base such that it doesn’t bang back and forth too much. That, of course, was not done. Much worry about the new pool furniture though…That said, there was a tragedy just last week several miles away in this city involving a three (?) year old still-in-diapers child wandering off. An alert went out to everyone’s cell phones but sadly the child was found dead…in a retention pond. Now near as I can tell, the pond closest to where this child was reported missing did not have a fence or wall or such surrounding it. Neither do several other ponds and water features and such in the area. But now, while looking for other info regarding things in our (pathetic) city needs to fix regarding the more recent storm, on the public (dumpster fire) Next Door app, someone from our community posts “I hope this motivates (our) HOA to fix our retention pond gate”. And the virtue signaling starts. “Pressure washing driveway notices while THEY haven’t fixed that gate!”, “ALL retention ponds should have fences and gates!!11!!” etc. etc. etc. Meanwhile vendors are hard to come by. On top of that, our CMA management company, which I tried to get rid of about a year ago but was voted down 6-1, is virtually helpless and hopeless here. And today I see an email from our fat, lives-alone-with-her-cat(s)-and-does-accounting-for-NASA, rarely-leaves-the-house-because-covid treasurer sends an email reply to the VP who has (apparently) been trying to get this gate fixed for the last six weeks, “We definitely need to escalate this. I don’t know if y’all heard about the toddler that drowned in a retention pond last week.”
I relate this partly to ask, where is the moral leadership in this country? Surely what I relate can be more reasonably understood by pastors and politicians and other community leaders. Where are other conservative..”conservative”…or even moderately sane…members of the community? Why am I constantly that lone voice saying, “Wait a minute….” and taking all the flak?
