If You Notice Our Dishonesty, We Will Punish You
I paraphrase, of course. Though not, I think, wildly:
Sorry, still pondering the Swissness of wind instrument repairman.
Well, he’s not wrong. We could, I suppose, list things like pelvis shape, skull shape, bone density, Q-angles and whatnot, and we could mention the very high accuracy of sex determination via forensic examinations based on such variables, but it all seems rather obvious. Almost too silly.
But wait.
Because in the realm of the trans activist, and others who like to pretend things, in this case, two journalists and a teacher, the accumulation of ludicrousness must not be impeded.
And so,
A transcript of the interrogation, in German, can be found here.
It turns out that noticing the obvious – that sexual dysmorphia is a mental health issue, that the skeletons of men and women are quite distinct, and that some members of the so-called “LGBTQI community” are quite extreme in their ambitions, as illustrated by the case itself – has now been deemed taboo, and indeed punishable:
Don’t talk back, citizen. Cross-dressing men are women.
With magic woman bones.
Readers will note the bizarre and emphatic conflation, by Judge Julia Schär, of sexual orientation and sexual dysmorphia – her equating of homosexuality with intolerant transvestism – via which she condemned Mr Brünisholz for an alleged intent to “disparage people on the basis of their sexual orientation in a way that violates human dignity.”
Whether the farce described above does much for human dignity is a question I leave to the reader.
Well, quite.
A reminder, were one needed, that when you surrender to the lie, all manner of distortions will ensue. Best, I think, not to give away the store in the first place.
Oh, and because I know you like a punchline:
Modernity, baby. Bathe in its glow.
This blog is kept afloat by the tip jar buttons below.
I’m inclined to suggest that the problem is not so much the stated problem, as the attitude that seems likely to have brought it, and others, into being.
Comments are closed, so I’ll just reiterate here that the two bullshit-spewing comics reviewers are New Yorkers and one of them (Shayo) even has a Bachelor’s of Psychology (Gosh! Should we be impressed?) from Macaulay Honors College (City University of New York).
New Yorkers like to think they are the intellectual shining lights of the universe, and yet very often they are quite the opposite, ignorant and shallow and parochial and dogmatic–not to mention, all too often, whores.
More of a red flag than a gold star.
Mr Shayo’s errors and wildly contradictory assertions, uttered mere days apart, do, I think, add weight to the idea that politics is to a large extent downstream of personality.
Again, high in neuroticism, low in conscientiousness. Hence the desperate contrivance, the need to be political fashionable, even at the cost of absurdity, and the seeming disregard for even the most glaring contradictions.
Agreed.
He may also be angry at the world for not gifting his Enormous Brain with the high-paying statusful career that he thinks he deserves.
From the first page of comments:
Are these Facebook groups? Reddit? Something else?
I think there is a lot of this. I have heard an academic state, with no irony, that his academic output is just as valuable as a high paid private sector job, so he deserved to just skip work whenever he wanted if they were not going to pay him enough. Many academics have this resentment about pay, or recognition. They often think that the world should listen to them due to their mighty intellects and resent their obscurity. Likewise, those with “studies” degrees or working in journalism think that people should listen to them. Angry angry angry, and for no actual reason.
Unemployed/underemployed university graduates are prone to support totalitarian revolutionaries.
My ongoing war with the HOA may be about to reach a new, critical phase.
Please let there be video.
It’s how we got Marxism. It’s why we keep Marxism.
Want.
Yes, mostly. I’ve noticed it in other places like Reddit or X but I rarely engage on Reddit and don’t follow those sorts of things much on X.
I tried out some Facebook groups 5-6 years ago, but quickly left as they had far too many toxic members. The only ones I am now willing to have anything to do with are non-political and are strictly policed for inappropriate posts and comments.
I have never engaged on Reddit, as following links years ago showed me that it would be a waste of time.
There are some X channels which I follow, but they are individuals’ rather than groups.
Sort of, “I have all these credentials, an expensive education, AND I LIVE IN BROOKLYN, yet I’m stuck writing about this and getting paid fuck all.”
Thing is, he does it so badly. So ineptly, with so many errors. And all in a banal, artless voice. His writing’s only signature is a contrived generic sourness, a political disdain expected of the type. I mean, it should be possible to write about Calvin and Hobbes with insight and affection. There’s plenty of material, should you know where to look.
But Mr Shayo fails even at this. While thinking himself clever.
