Well, the question that triggered Mr Khan’s, um, agitation was a fair one. Why does a 40-year-old man want to hang out with teenagers who are indulging in paranoid wailing about the first-year anniversary of a presidential election? Aren’t there more productive, and less demented, uses of one’s time? Not least if you’re a parent with three children.
Other questions come to mind, of course. For instance, if you’re hoping to be taken seriously as an educator, is it appropriate to verbally abuse students at your place of work for the sin of being insufficiently leftwing? And shouldn’t an affiliation with Antifa – a group that exults in violence and physical intimidation, and whose members beat random women with metal bars – shouldn’t that pretty much rule you out as someone fit to teach anyone else’s children?
But hey, this is where we are now.

Setting aside Mr Khan’s unedifying example, there’s the broader tendency among leftist educators to be as immature as the teenagers whose minds they’re blunting, and often more so. As if being down with the kids and sharing in their various dramas and tantrums were a sign of credibility and radical edginess, rather than indicative of a loser, someone whose psychological development ground to a halt prematurely.

Rutherford B. Hayes became President by virtue of the electoral vote, even though Samuel J. Tilden won the popular vote. Also, the Nez Perce War was going on in Idaho and Montana. I think we’re all smart enough to discern the impact on American gender relations of those seemingly unconnected events without further elaboration from me.
Not unexpected for that place. North of Green Street is the Engineering campus, and it’s like being in another world compared to the rest of the seething hotbed of lefty agitation and lunacy that is the U of I. The graduate students (not the science and engineering ones, but forced to pay dues nonetheless) are unionized, if that tells you anything. The mentality of most of the non- engineer/STEM students is pretty much on par what is illustrated often here on this illustrious blog. Even the non-students are infected. The cafeteria, cleaning, and other such service staff are also unionized by the SEIU. While getting paid $17 USD an hour they went on strike for a raise. Oh have I mentioned that they are already making more money than most non-administrative/bureaucratic staff on campus?? And that the state of Illinois is broke? This new story fits right in to the whole swampland history of the place.
What is truly sad is most of the state of Illinois is farmland, but the corruptocrats of Chicago control the politics of the state.

Re: Magdalen – why the hell are the little nazis entitled to make anything ‘mandatory’, let alone contrived political bullshit like this? Why doesn’t the college – which won’t agree in any sort of lockstep fashion with this move – step in? Why don’t donors threaten to cancel their donations to prevent this sort of bullying? Why won’t people wake up?

‘k . . . so given that far more individuals of a particular intrinsic appearance are required—just makeup and wigs won’t be enough—then clearly he needs to do the Constructing of a large number of clones. It can be the Ph.D thesis, even.
