I don’t think there is a thought process.
What struck me, other than the oddness, was a sense that it’s the kind of crime we’re likely to be seeing with greater frequency.
I hesitate to extrapolate too wildly, but we do seem to be seeing incidents with a certain unhappy resonance. A things-to-come quality.
I mean, is it wrong, somehow wicked, to be reminded of this?
