Please, sir, may I have some steak pie?
Betcha his hobby is getting himself into news photos.
In other multicultural news, the World Series is going to be lit.
Meanwhile, “No Kings”, except one for you lot of sci-fi nerds.
“Why do the Yanks have a No Kings Day when they’ve not had a king for centuries? It’s like the French protesting against soap.”
Mind you, I’m not saying it was a tragedy for Iranian communists to get offed by a rival faction, only that it’s ironic to see today’s commies still not learning that lesson.
Imperviousness to both history and new information, and to reality in general, would seem to be a defining trait.
In reply to this self-satisfied waffle by Mr Bonnell:
One more time.
In other important news, if anyone here has ever had their picture taken with their chin resting on their hands, well…I refuse to associate with Nazis. You Nazi, Nazi, Nazi.
The balanced thoughtful coverage of The Daily Monsters From the Id.
Primordial soup with crackers.
NOURISHING BROTH.
Holy frijoles, I’m fatigued by all the stage-4-TDS performative rage and gotchas. I’ve never even seen the so-called “famous” inspiration pic, but outside of getting a front view, above the waist portrait with centered subject, there is little resemblance between the two — backgrounds not similar, lighting dramatically different and even the “hands near chin” are different.
But yeah, Hitler drank water, Trump drinks water — ergo Trump is a Nxzi.
If I roll my eyes any harder, I’m going to have a week-long headache.
This seems apposite:
And speaking of hysteria…and not to dissect a frog, but yes…dissecting a frog…there’s a somewhat old joke/piece of wisdom that “Never in the history of calm down has telling the person to calm down successfully calmed them down.” Now…when I first heard that, I took it as a 75% joke on the irrationality of the hysterical person and a 25% joke on the futility of the effort of someone trying to get such a person to calm down. In my recent observations of reactions on this much repeated expression however seem to indicate it’s now utilized such that the joke is about 95% on the latter party. Hysteria, especially regarding the Orange Genius, is the expected norm.
I’ve been told that tonight’s viewing will be the episode Fallen Angel.
So we’ll see how that goes.
This reminds me of “Tom Swift and His Amazing Performing Cats”:
“I am promoting a James Brown tribute act performed entirely by trained cats! I have booked them to perform at the Conservative Party convention!”, said Tom Swift, perfunctorily.
I was getting down with my bad self, thank you very much.
It’s one of the great Tom Swift works. Classic lines:
“I am training cats to recite poetry!” said Tom Swift, perversely.
“I pay you as a professional cat wrangler to provide properly trained cats for my production. The cats you have provided will not respond to direction in a timely manner!”, said Tom Swift, cumulatively.
What a strange thing to do, and in such a strange place.
In Florence, Italy: Drunk migrant attempts to blow up residential building by trying to set fire to a gas pipe.
Appropriate response here.
And if Muslims in Britain are supporting Islamist and Muslim Brotherhood-linked parties, that certainly puts the lie to the claim that they are good citizens who should be welcomed. Quite the opposite, in fact–it makes them all good candidates for deportation regardless of citizenship.
E.g. this:
A little rhyme:
Er, why is my previous comment “awaiting for approval”?
? My previous comment takes up far too much screen real estate.
Is there an easy way to force lines to be single-spaced?
And I cannot blame my typos on the Spam-No-More 9000.
Pshaw – sure you can. We just won’t believe you, just like we don’t believe Muldoon!
The only thing self-destructive about “whiteness” is suicidal tolerance of barbarians and savages and parasites. May that tolerance soon transform into maximum intolerance.
Maybe they think they come prepared this time. Maybe they think they know how to defeat them. My money is on the Muslims in this one.
I just read the plotline over at the X-Files wiki and I can’t say I remember it. So that’s the impression it left.
Fundamental misunderstanding of how wealth works.
It wasn’t great, no. I’ve only rewatched five episodes, mostly from season one, and I’m already feeling the repetition of the premise. It’s a bit claustrophobic, narratively, very narrow and predictable. I’m very much aware of What Has To Happen Every Damn Week. And Mr Duchovny is not an actor of enormous skill and range.
I may have to be more selective in my cherry picking.
That fundamental “misunderstanding” is what they have been taught in schools and via our broader culture. Why would they believe anything different? Who is going to tell them otherwise?
If only they could exterminate each other to the last one while everyone else watches.
And thus I would suffer even more humiliation. [ Hides face. ]
Again: they’re literally retarded. Part of extremely low IQ is a lack of future time orientation, which is why so many of them seem unable to connect current actions with future consequences.
As a historian, I’m routinely amused by the persistence of the “it’s the archers who won Agincourt” fallacy, despite the records of the battle easily available since the date of trivially disproving it. It’s a great example of how you can have all the facts laid out unambiguously and people will still choose to believe an emotionally satisfying narrative.
Canadians are responding with their typical ability to step on their own dick.
As I’ve said repeatedly, encouraging all white people to see themselves as a monolithic bloc under constant attack is not going to end well.
Accustomed as we are to long-form serial narratives now, it’s easy to forget that TV prior to about 2008 or so needed to be like that. Especially in the first season, when much of each episode’s audience was going to be seeing the show for the first time, and had no ability to see the earlier episodes.
Fair point. It’s still proving more of a grind than I’d expected. I’m remembering, already, why I stopped watching the thing, even intermittently.
Tonight’s viewing, I’ve just learned, is the season one episode Beyond the Sea. Brad Dourif guest-stars.
I’ve been stuck midway through season 9 of Smallville for years now because there’s just so much filler in 23 episodes of 47 minutes, when there’s only about half that much actual storytelling that needs to be conveyed.
I do find it interesting that most of the former cast seems to have given up on having careers and mostly seems to be guesting on each other’s podcasts now. Which leads to some amusing behind the scenes anecdotes, at least. And Allison Mack is out of jail and about to Tell All, which ought to be spicy.
Heh. Or eww, possibly.
I should add that the episode mentioned above was actually quite good, for reasons explained in the latest thread.
I remain convinced that Kristin Kreuk’s career post S03 of Smallville can only be explained by NXIUM-related blackmail.
