Because environmentalist politics is all about the joy.
Ah, those self-other paradigms. And situated bodies. Of course.
Naturally, the planet is also assigned with novelty pronouns – BE/BER – because, well, because.
Such is the radical heft of the Journal of Lesbian Studies. Where other topics of deep pondering include “lesbian-dog relationalities and becomings,” and “lesbian, non-binary, and trans-dog intimacies.”
Empowered feminist ladies and their erotic entanglements with pets is, you’ll recall, a subject we’ve touched on before.
The latest issue of the Journal of Lesbian Studies can be accessed, for a whole thirty days, for a mere £220.
Oh, and should you be intrigued by “ecosexuality,” “grassilingus,” tree-licking, and free-swinging breasts daubed with mud, well, today’s your lucky day.

Perhaps the female police officers should have identified as men.
I wonder how long before most people are able to notice, evaluate, and conclude that female cops can’t be expected to take down male suspects and that maybe they shouldn’t be put in to a position where they have to.
I seriously don’t enjoy living in the timeline where obvious truths have been called problematic, discarded, and replaced with idealistic pablum.
People will have to see dozens of such videos before they figure it out.
The widespread mismatch – between what one is supposed to pretend and what actually is – is getting quite tiresome. And, I’d suggest, perilous.
“…and trans-dog intimacies“
WTF? Are there dogs who think they are cats now?
“Following previous rumblings on the subject, I’ve belatedly started watching season two of Andor. “
I restarted series one and got through the first three episodes and was glad to see it did improve. Hopefully the same will hold true for series two, which I’ve downloaded to watch while on my short break in Winchester this weekend.
The first three episodes ain’t great. The highlight so far, in episode three, is Dedra and Syril’s weirdly uptight domestic life, which is actually quite funny. By my reckoning, she’s by far the most interesting character.
I’m told it does get better, but we’ll see.
I would, I think, be prepared to watch a spin-off mini-series – of, say, six episodes – in which our improbable and exquisitely uptight couple endure everyday social interactions and visits from the mother-in-law.
Sure, now they tell us. People need to go to prison. For treason specifically but all the other stuff as well. But of course nobody ever commits treason. From the left anyway. Just about any two-bit lawyer armed with a couple of political publicists can beat that charge. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try tho.
It could be that cinema’s in the UK and US take very different approaches to the quality of their hotdogs, but I suspect part of what makes cinema hotdogs taste better is the overall experience of going to the cinema. This effect is somewhat dampened by the reality of having to watch baseball or be in NY while eating your dog.
Interesting supposition. I’ve never experienced it, though.
None of the liberals I knew saw anything wrong in having a president who was nothing more than a brain-dead puppet for an unelected shadow government. None. They may not have realized what lessons they were teaching real Americans, but those lessons have been learned.
The chain theatres around here used to rent out the screens for 3 hours for big screen video gaming. Bring the price down a bit and I’d be doing that once a month. You can pack a pretty good tournament into three hours.
That’s called a repertory theatre (or a Snark). they seem to have all vanished, I assume due to the economics of the thing.
The problem with the Star Wars franchise is that everyone – Lucas, Disney, Kennedy, and most importantly the fans – has completely forgotten what Star Wars is.
I remember in university in the 1990s, that blessed time when just about everyone had completely forgotten about Star Wars, saying that Star Wars functioned as a kind of Rorschach test for nerds: asking a nerd “what Star Wars was” would tell you a great deal about the nerd and very little about Star Wars.
As I think I’ve said before, I saw the first three films as a wee seedling and remember enjoying the first two, but I was never a fan. I’ve never been particularly invested in it and I don’t have strong feelings on what that fictional universe should be. Other than, you know, entertaining.
Regarding season two of Andor, I did find myself enjoying the weird, somewhat incongruous Dedra-and-Syril-at-home scenes more than almost any of the mopey rebels business.
I mean, it does have the makings of a twisted sitcom.
Fannish behavior is another thing that can be very grating.
