Peer-Reviewed, You Say
And in whatever-the-hell-this-is news:
Because environmentalist politics is all about the joy.
Ah, those self-other paradigms. And situated bodies. Of course.
Naturally, the planet is also assigned with novelty pronouns – BE/BER – because, well, because.
Such is the radical heft of the Journal of Lesbian Studies. Where other topics of deep pondering include “lesbian-dog relationalities and becomings,” and “lesbian, non-binary, and trans-dog intimacies.”
Empowered feminist ladies and their erotic entanglements with pets is, you’ll recall, a subject we’ve touched on before.
The latest issue of the Journal of Lesbian Studies can be accessed, for a whole thirty days, for a mere £220.
Oh, and should you be intrigued by “ecosexuality,” “grassilingus,” tree-licking, and free-swinging breasts daubed with mud, well, today’s your lucky day.
Consider this an open thread. Share ye links and bicker.

Alas, we’ve lost “Norm!”
Ever want to read that “suspects were released off the top of a tall building“?
Venn diagram of note.
Cute how the generic video of the festival shows white peoples walking and white peoples partying but the actual, yet faded video-of-video of the actual fight indicates the actual fighting yutes were of a specific not-white color.
His vagina is very angry.
[ Compiles Friday’s Ephemera, wipes sweated brow. ]
Pro tip: not a vagina.
As I said on X, it’s strange how the act of surgical ‘affirmation’ – and pretending that grotesque wounds are “cute” – reveals the unconvincing nature of the claim to womanhood.
I mean, if you think that womanhood is achieved by a process of necrotic wounds, bone shaving, and the stench of cadaverine, then something’s gone horribly wrong.
It doesn’t say woman. It screams mental illness.
Movie theatres are going the way of vinyl records.
Dammit, I was saving that gem for the Friday Ephemera! [ Sulks. ]
Not entirely unfair. Though I think that enthusiasts would refer to said dish as beans on toast, not beans and toast.
Is tight-ass pedantry on there somewhere?
[ Recalls leftist opinionizing in the 90’s about Hedwig and the Angry Inch. ]
So many memes have errors (spelling, grammar, etc) that you’d think they were all created at 2am by sleep-deprived drunks in a hurry.
Can’t quite believe I referred to beans on toast as a dish.
Though I suppose you could knock it up a notch with some grated cheese and a light smearing of Marmite.
What?
This is where @Karl shows up and starts throwing things, smashing vases, etc.
Heh.
This chick has a well reasoned counter argument to women protesting an honorary degree at a women’s* college.
*(“trans”women are women, bigot)
I took the eldest to see “Thunderbolts” the other day, for the first time in about 6 months. The cinema was pristine, the recliner seat comfortable, and I maintain that cinema hotdogs are the best you can get. It’s hard to see what the cinema could improve on, except maybe the price.
The only let-down was the movie, which we both agreed was just “ok”. And we only picked that one because it looked the best out of all the other movies that were showing. That’s the only problem they have, and there’s nothing the cinema chains can do about the quality of the movies.
I’d even be tempted with their £20 monthly membership for unlimited movies and a heap of other benefits, if I believed that they’d have enough movies worth watching.
That possibly bears repeating.
As long as we are Queering™ All the things, Queer™ woo…
Apparently a 1980s scfi movie, “Apokalyptic Ecology”
I would have thought that was self evident, but check it out, there is also spoor recognition, Queer™ Nature, and poetry.
I agree. A trip to the local IMAX, while taking up half a day, used to be fun, and reliably so. The venue itself is as shiny, clean and comfortable as you could hope. Massive screen, excellent sound system, good seats, and no raucous ferals to disrupt the experience – at least we’ve been spared any.
But… I haven’t been able to think of anything I want to see enough to make the trip worthwhile. For three years.
No, wait. That’s not quite true. We went to see Dune: Part 2. Before which, we sat through umpteen trailers, none of which were even remotely intriguing and most of which were actively repellent.
So one outing in three years.
[ Raises eyebrows. ]
In my limited experience, only the popcorn is any good. I suspect that your cinema was an exception to that rule.
Not entirely unrelated.
Saying ‘sod off tossers‘ politely.

Having been inspired by Puppetry of the Penis, I am applying for an Arts Council grant to produce Vivisection of the Vagina: Laceration Larceny. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance, these things have a tendency to close themselves up.
What does it take to make a lesson stick? Bombs are apparently insufficient.
They’re wearing the emblem/coat of arms of communist East Germany.
…and I maintain that cinema hotdogs are the best you can get
“Cinema” instead of movie & “20 Imperial Dollars”, so obviously never been to a ball game anywhere or a NYC snouts & kraut cart (one of the only good things to come out of that dump), so not like there is a good base for comparison. Probably uses ketchup, though, sad.
The words ‘not a’ seem to be hovering in the vicinity.
[ Sees Liz made same point with more style. Tips hat. ]
That’s not a trait limited to Britons and Formicidae.
They’re not?
They could start showing classics. The restored Fantasia and the restored Gone With the Wind were both amazing in theatre, and I’d certainly pay to see any number of classic films in that setting.
The German government is certainly acting quite like the former DDR.
This is for @pst314:
It occurred to me a while ago that Disney could have actually made some money – as opposed to losing vast amounts – by releasing a restored version of the 1937 Snow White. Rather than the, shall we say, troubled remake.
Agreed. That essay Who Goes Nazi? should be updated to Who Goes Stasi?
The Lives of Others was not supposed to be a how-to manual.
Film set almost entirely in a men’s prison features insufficient women.
Who complained? Was it Jonah Goldberg? <grin>
I’m now waiting for someone to notice that the Australian soap opera Prisoner: Cell Block H featured very few male characters during its 867 million episodes, with the implication that this is somehow inapt, lamentable or antiquated.
Insufficient women in film: there were multiple complaints that in Dunkirk, about the brits evacuation from Belgium, there were insufficient POC….at a time when GB was 99% white. Likewise movies about Vikings are too white. FFS. It is simply too bad that actual history was not cast by Disney. Get over it.
I’ve been thinking about Fox News. They love Trump, in case you Brits can’t get it. I have no problem with that. The problem with the rest of the MSM was/is NOT that they love Biden or the Dems, it is that they will hide the truth and lie about that which they can’t hide, blatantly and insanely. They will have footage of thugs chasing down Rittenhouse but only show the footage of him shooting. They will try to ruin the life of a high school kid where an “indian” is banging a drum in his face for no reason. Or ruin a 12 yr old kid for wearing facepaint of his team colors. It is pure evil. They still don’t get it that they’ve been caught.
Song of the South anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Don’t be so sure about that. Some of them definitely do, but even those were predominantly converts. The people running Fox, not so much.
Yet they still survive because either enough people continue to watch them or someone/thing else is funding them or both. The question I have is why do so many of those people continue to bury their heads in the sand? Why do they lie to themselves and their in-group about clear, objective, obvious falsehoods? I have a partial answer to that as well.
