Friday Ephemera (748)
Interspecies attraction of note. || The oxygen tank is, I suppose, an innovative touch. || Not new, but evergreen. Related. || At last, drinkable mayonnaise. || More adventures in modernity. || “How can anything made of matter be that cold?” || Bold artistic breakthrough. || The litter bins of Disneyland. || The chair bodgers of the Chilterns, 1950. || Hercules. || At last, sewing machine techno. || Unauthorised parking anthropology. (h/t, Elephants Gerald) || The progressive retail experience, parts 599, 600, 601, and 602. || Oh, winter wonderland. || Swimwear. || When your foot’s hard on the brakes, but your car won’t stop, and you’re heading towards a lake, while pregnant. || Free at last. || Sweet potato, sharp knife. || The tomb of Queen Nefertari. || And finally, an uncanny deduction.

Something about the word ‘acting’ escapes them.
Yersinia pestis has entered the chat.
That, Hanta (any variant), Lassa , leptospirosis, and roughly 50 other pathogens ranging from potentially lethal to annoying.

“He is a dude, playing a dude, pretending to be a non-dude” (paraphrasing slightly).

Egotistical gay cat, the musical.
1. More appealing and far less pretentious than the original Jag ad.
2. Cat lovers are a much larger potential audience than whomever Jag thought they were appealing to.
I wouldn’t be too sure about that. South Korean society is messed up in a lot of ways.
This. Though it’s the better of the other likely path, that the right caves in and essentially joins the left against any liberal, tolerant civilization. As I said a long time ago, both the left and the right want to imprison their various enemies and free/protect their allies. A liberal, tolerant civilization, law-based society that respects the individual is a compromise. The right has been way too tolerant and willing to play by rules that the left ignores. A snapback is almost inevitable.
Britain really has gone ’round the twist.
