Steal From Them, Not Me
Lifted from the comments, a worldview in snapshot form:
I filmed a liberal activist trying to retrieve her iPhone back from the homeless that possibly stole it. She encouraged them to sell anything they steal from “rich scum” but that she’s “nice” and “honest” and needs it back. She told @tarafaul503 and I she won’t call the police pic.twitter.com/STzxXlyDNY

You see, they’re only supposed to steal from “rich scum.” Not nice people. Say, nice progressive women who are, like, totally cool with the robbing of others.
Because lack of empathy for all is a sign of a ‘good person’?
Needless to say, Little Miss Righteous didn’t get her phone back.
Hard to know who to root for.
And for those who missed it, another collision of worldviews.
I suppose the idea is to make shrill, obnoxious noises and generally behave in an unnerving way so that the actual victim will drop the matter and allow Miss Meltdown to continue being selfish and antisocial, and to continue screwing over others.
Despite the tears and wailing, it looks a lot like a temper tantrum: “How dare you expect me to behave like a responsible adult? I hate you!”
Best reply: “She doesn’t seem to want to sleep in the sheets she shat in.”
Portland. Natch.
The video above reminded me of an incident from a few years ago, when I was standing outside the entrance of a supermarket and checking my phone for the whereabouts of the taxi I’d booked. A rough-looking woman in her late twenties, obviously a junkie, approached and asked if she could borrow my phone, which seemed to interest her a great deal.
I pointed out that if she needed to make a call, the enquiry desk just inside the supermarket door, maybe six metres away, would most likely oblige. Her eyes moved from the phone to me, and we exchanged a look of, shall we say, mutual understanding.
Needless to say, her disappointment didn’t result in her walking the six metres to the enquiry desk, where a call could have been made. Instead, she wandered off looking for other prey.
In yet another collision of worldviews, it is unfathomable why the Harris team failed to connect with real people.
What percentage of people are just evil Pakleds?
(I just noticed that I can’t be logged-in at home and at work. Apparently.)
Not smiling then?
On her part, something closer to cold hatred.
The whole thing was a little surreal. The mismatch of words and body language was quite memorable.
In yet more collisions of worldviews, one thing Bluesky has done is create a self-segregating midway of leftist psychopathology that charges no admission. Libs of Bluesky is a brave soul indeed.
The transautistic show off their flag. (Yes, people pretending to be autistic)
Yes, but what about the pedophiles?
Lady sings the blues.
A bonus – en verdad, this may be an actual piss take, but these days, who knows?
From the link:
I suppose that some of these people are merely ignorant and stupid (abjectly so), but most of them must know that they are not helping but instead harming.
We shoot rabid beasts, don’t we?
At the time, it was a fairly disagreeable experience. In hindsight, I’ve come to appreciate the educational aspect.
That is how, in retrospect, I appreciate my years in an urban public school.
“Reform yourself or be disposed of” should be the ultimatum criminals should face.
Experiences of this kind do tend to make fashionable dishonesties difficult to sustain.
But not impossible. Hence the kids who went to the same school but can today be described not unfairly as pathologically liberal fools. (The actual leftists belong in a separate category.)
Lady (I think) who gets (now) only $25 million/year for doing one show a week weeps because “Elon Musk Posts Dangerous Meme”.
You might have to go full screen to see the meme, but I guess if I thought I might lose a 25 million frogskin phony job I might be upset too.
There is a child missing a birthday cake.
Not from lack of trying as the featured guest demonstrates above.
This came to mind. It addresses fantasies about egalitarian education, but much the same applies to, say, crime or many other subjects:
The use of chairs to repel would-be bullies, mentioned in the previous thread, also crops up briefly.
Thus:
How about abolishing leftism?
Little or no first-hand experience of nearly everything.
Again, I’m drawn to an idea for a late-night reality TV show.
“Elon Musk Posts Dangerous Meme”.
Post gone.
Post gone.
Сукин сын, try this one, it includes the dangerous meme…
Apparently, it was a parody.

It has an aftertaste of soap.
The spoon or the ice cream?
It’s the coconut in the ice cream. It has a soapy quality. This is what I get for accepting a substitution.
FEEL MY PAIN.
[ Slides bowl of bar snacks in David’s direction. ]
Substitute, lower-tier brand? Ice cream is one of those things with a particularly wide range of quality between budget brand and premium brand.
But then, there’s a lot of crazy in the education establishment.
Sean Connery knew how to deal with women like that.
It was this stuff:
It came with a pizza some time ago and sat neglected in the freezer. Now it sits neglected in the bin.
I am consoling myself with a gin and tonic.
“sat neglected in the freezer” may be key.
Good news.
[ Slices lime, pours another fortifying gin and tonic. ]
It seems to be working. And it has the advantage of not tasting of soap.
Have a few more and you won’t even remember the trauma.
It’s the coconut in the ice cream. It has a soapy quality.
Are you sure it’s not the white chocolate? I find white chocolate often has that soapy quality you’re describing. Gin on the other hand seldom disappoints.
Ah, that’s possible. Not keen on white chocolate. Especially when combined with coconut.

Well there is your problem, ice cream usually contains actual milk and cream.
Haagen-Dazs pineapple coconut ice cream: cream, skim milk, cane sugar, pineapple, egg yolks, natural flavor (coconut), rum, salt.
I really, really don’t want to live in a Monty Python sketch.
. . . Except maybe Castle Anthrax.
It did to some degree back then. Then the psychologists and psychiatrists “fixed” it. The military has had similar success. Even for some of those who didn’t get shot at in anger.
100% true. Yet OTOH, some parents are horribly irresponsible and use it asan excuse to have their older children provide free day care for the younger ones. Or at least did 30 years ago when I mentored a couple. To be clear, I am 100% in favor of hime schooling and/or something similar but this is a reality.

Ithaca College is higher atop Cayuga’s waters.
Not an Ithaca that Odysseus would strive to return to.
What a silly fake question: Queer Marxism is not exactly new, after all.
Seen:
Ithaca College is higher atop Cayuga’s waters.
Take it up with whoever wrote the alma mater, maybe the topo maps were off back in the olden days and Cornell was there first anyway.
Compare and contrast.
There are always multiple ‘realities’ … as many as there are individuals. Some kids will survive and thrive regardless if the public school or home school experience s**ks. Some kids will fail at everything even given the most privileged of circumstances. The best we can do is have the best of all options on the table to tip the odds for the majority. IMHO our default position should be ‘parents want best for the kids’ unless evidence presents itself otherwise for specific people.
If we are going to have any public funding of education, then the $ should be tied to the kid, not the institution. Start there.
Excellent advice.
Murray is assuming smaller colleges actually want that end result. That path has been available for at least ten years now. Colleges that haven’t figured it out yet should be viewed as suspect at this point. Barring some recent radical defenestration of their top tier administrators.
cream, skim milk, cane sugar, pineapple, egg yolks, natural flavor (coconut), rum, salt.
All those ingredients are complementary and meld together well. White chocolate, mango and coconut do not work well together. Mango has a slight aftertaste that just doesn’t work with milk and cream. It works really well in a yoghurt because of the slight bitterness found in yoghurt. It’s also spectacular as an ice, a gelato or a sorbet where the sugar content balances out the flavour. YMMV
By gum, you’re right. I was remembering IC as being closer to the river bottom.

Bleeding edge research much needed in these days of troubled times in which we live in.

All the deets here, and Oregon I get, but Tuscaloosa – Jesus wept.
Alabama has idiots too.
Alabama has idiots too.
Imports.
I don’t really know about that. Truly independent colleges (that take NO fed $, including students who take out fed loans) are not the plentiful and are the continued targets of the Ruling Class for the audacity of being independent. One of the reasons Hillsdale College dropped taking students with fed loans was because the Feds were up in their face demanding things like racial stats on the student body.
This is paying the Danegeld territory. Even if a college gets no taxpayer $ directly at all, taking one student who financing their way *with* taxpayer loans/grants and here comes BigBro.
I’m really hoping this time we can finally get rid of the Jimmy Carter’s Frankenstein’s monster of the Dept of Ed.
The intelligentsia, especially in deep red states, is eager to set themselves apart from their lesser brethren. They are highly anxious about being thought fools and rednecks by other members of the Elevated Class, so they go along with the blue-state nonsense to preserve their status.
Sometimes you find the most extreme manifestations of Woke in the reddest contexts, because of the desire to be cleansed of the sins of their surroundings.
This. Though it’s a bit of a gator-arms argument. The government backed loans themselves drive up the costs in many other ways too. Find alternate means of financing. The opportunity has been there for at least ten years if not more. I believe Bob Jones University and perhaps Liberty University went down that path decades ago.
That.
Whistling past the graveyard again with the I-95/I-5 mentality.
This. But not just the intelligentsia. The students themselves, and a couple generations in now have been captured by that same inferiority feeling. The movies, tv shows, books, etc. have convinced them that their culture is inferior. Especially those who are “smarter” fall for this.
Make jail scary again.
When I see leaders defend illegal entry like this, I wonder who is bribing him and/or threatening his family. It find it hard to believe that the gangs and drug cartels have NOT done all they could to get us to keep that border open.
Such psychopaths wouldn’t leave those loose ends unaccounted for.
Also, he says that Biden/Harris tried to close down the border. Dude. They actively brought people here, paid their transport, gave them debit cards and hotels to stay at. Sometimes they waved their wands and declared them legal.
It’s the same thing happening in western Europe. The aim is to flood the countries with 3rd worlders, destabilize society, then bring the hammer down to maintain order.
It occurs to me that the word treason isn’t used as often as it might be.
No, no. He’s like the guy who objected to the Japanese internment camps. Because the camps were obviously illegal.
So he’s going to protest the government as they deport illegal aliens.
Celebrate me now, or else.
How to create enemies.

I think it’s more like
Perhaps. But I still find it more likely that they do so for the sake of their own virtue. Especially in regards to their supporters. Even if they were physically threatened on the down-low, the voters still won’t throw them out. They are the real problem.
. . . defenestration comes to mind.
