The progressive learning experience…
Speaking of which, I doubt this one will learn from her experience.
The name itself is a red flag.
The progressive retail experience…didn’t go to plan.
Covid 19 test. Very accurate.
“Closer to the boss, I guess.”
‘For centuries, monks had to use rope ladders to reach the monasteries’
I hope someone’s installed an escalator now….
2.5 hours of pretend poverty – then back to the golf course!
Morning, all.
As poverty LARPing goes, it’s quite the thing.
Apparently, there should be more retroactive, ahistorical diversity.
A minstrel walks among us.
Reality bites progressive bint.
Teachable moment.
It’s worth bearing in mind that Ms Sathanandan’s earlier, quite emphatic attitude regarding crime and policing – specifically, her demands for the “dismantling” of the Minneapolis Police Department – wasn’t just some weirdly improbable intellectual error. It was an ostentatious profession of piety and values – and a statement of the kind of person she is and wishes to be seen as. A statement of her priorities and character.
Apparently, she didn’t expect the newly emboldened sociopaths to come after her, only the people across town.
Which does rather temper any sympathy one might have.
Reality bites progressive bint.
Judas on a Vespa Delivering Pizzas with Pineapple for Uber Eats in Portland! That “before” photo is terrifying!
That.
What sympathy?
Bet she won’t resign though.
I’m surprised he survived.
Analogy.
In a consistent world Ms Sathanandan’s robust criticism of the ferals would result in censure if not outright dismissal as a clear case of white (as in the imminent Disney Snow White) on black hate speech. However this is Minnesota politics and there is only one consistent rule* – blame whitey.
* except in the case of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, best known for her innovative approach towards obtaining immigration status for siblings, where one particular class of whitey is always to the forefront.
The logical consequence of the notion that criminals only exist in society because policing and the justice system have created them and so getting rid of the latter resolves the problem with the former at a single stroke.
Such perversity of thought might well work wonders in a university debating society, throwing a more rational opponent off guard.
But anywhere else it’s like a farmer killing all his chickens to prevent the foxes getting at them.
“Some far-right groups have concerns about the Smoke Affirmation movement, but experts say they are fear-mongering and hateful.”
Heh.
See the little beating heart of the modern progressive.
I’m not familiar with the kind of thing I’m seeing.

It looks like a DYI butt lift going south in a hurry, but the real question is whether the guy is brave or stupid for not wearing gloves.

It’s like deja vu all over again…

Considers whether to claim he reads every comment…
Totally understandable if you were temporarily disoriented by the nigh necrotic butt.
Meanwhile, Anheuser-Busch products will soon be available only by subscription, subject to updates while trying to consume (if you are mad enough to do so), and failing to be poured from the cans.
Good for Mads. We need more laughing and pointing at these
journalistsactivists. There’s a longer version here, with another Mads moment. In fairness, the unnamed journalist doesn’t seem to object to the answers he’s given – he may even agree with them – and the exchange does rather highlight the absurdity of Hollywood’s “representation” guidelines and racial bean-counting.
But yes, more open mockery by celebrities, as opposed to their neurotic endorsement, wouldn’t go amiss.
The idea of being isolated from much of the daily ruction appeals.
There’s a longer version here, with another Mads moment.
That flips on its head the impression given by the original clip of an anti-white journalist getting a short answer.
From the longer clip it sounds like like it was a pro-white, or at least anti-anti-white journalist. Mads saw the danger of getting drawn into a quote, so he pushed the journalist into the dangerous assertion that it’s ok for whites to sometimes have their own stuff, then he pretended not to understand the question. And then the director, after saying that it was 1750, went on to say that he overcame that difficulty and still shoved a non-white suffering from racism into the film.
“poverty simulation event”: in college my parents barely supported me so “poverty” was right there with me. I’m glad. I tried all the cheap cuts of meat (livers, brains, bologna) and never ate out. Had to learn to cook. Very educational.
He’s been waiting his whole life to do this.

Highland Park is indeed one of the wealthier suburbs of Chicago.
I did like mama’s chest-clutching sigh at the end.
See the racism inherent in the system! “They wouldna shot him if he had been white”
A suitably vivid example of the behaviour that many progressives seem determined to deny, as if it couldn’t possibly exist. As if it weren’t a staple of Cops and similar reality TV series.
The same progressive demographic that insists such creatures are just like you.
Callouses of steel
The decade or the age of the band?
Be careful what you ask for . . .
It occurs to me, based on the many examples we find here, that MtoF trans succeed in being not attractive to hetero men, to gay men, to hetero women or to lesbians. And not merely “not attractive” but actively grossing out these demographics. 100% success, I guess.
The same people hold similar notions regarding poverty and money.
Now for something completely different: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6C7mk0pxNw
Not high-brow entertainment by any means, but pretty funny.
That and much else besides.
Get rid of men and women, no more misogyny or transphobia (allegedly).
Get rid of heterosexuality, no more homophobia.
Get rid of parenting, no more … Say, wait just a minute now!
The event has been cancelled. Because it got too much bad publicity? Yes.
“They wouldna shot him if he had been white”
Well, he was wearing an appropriated white culture emblem on his shirt…
The event has been cancelled. Because it got too much bad publicity? Yes.
That’s a very old-fashioned sort of outrage, as if Winthrop Moneybags III and his chums were dressing up as poor people for shits, giggles and a true canvas of the suffering of humanity.
But it seems more like a bunch of charity sector employees were invited to turn up at 9am on a Saturday to play a sort of nickel-and-dime Monopoly that was supposed to morally improve them. The only involvement of the country club was to rent out a meeting room for this dreary event. Were the participants going to have a cocktail on the veranda afterwards? I wouldn’t have begrudged them.
“Winthrop Moneybags III”
That’s Luis Winthrop. The Third.
Louis. Darn autocucumber.
Well, ladies, have you?
Dr Brian Talarico, North Bay Psychiatrist Has been convicted of child molestation, and possession of child pornography on his computer. Sexually molesting a young boy. He had prior convictions for child molestation in 1990 and 2001. After his parole in 2006 Dr. Talarico Brian Works for North Bay Regional Health Centre, and elsewhere, despite his background, and numerous complaints against him of abuse, fraud, negligence, and imprisonment. he has a sexual preference for younger boys, feeds them antipsychotics, and fondles children… we’re now dealing childhood trauma, we’re concerned for the safety of the public
Well, ladies, have you?
No.
These men post this crap online and yet the smart people keep insisting it’s not a fetish or a kink.
Lawfare. When are conservative schmucks going to wake up to how the legal system is screwing our society? How a legal system run by and for the legal classes which is only answerable to…the lawyers…makes rules without regard to the law. This crap didn’t just start with Biden or even with the “threat” of Trump. Nothing happens that fast. Conservatives just were not paying attention because they did not want to pay attention and they still refuse to pay attention.
Yes, and due to some clumsy phrasing, and perhaps second-language issues, they do in part seem to be talking at cross purposes. The journalist is, I think, trying to elicit some comment on the Oscars’ disfavouring of a largely white cast, however historically accurate.
We also appear to have reached a point at which announcing the inclusion of a plotline about a “girl of colour” being mistreated in some way is offered as a shield against accusations of one’s own innate white devilry – and, presumably, a selling point. As if it were the kind of thing to make people rush to the nearest cinema.
I’m shocked. Shocked, I say.
Progressives mystified.
Well you have self-appointed, delusional activist groups interpreting and explaining reality for the rest of us, so there’s bound to be a bit of confusion. Or a lot; it’s a fallback goal in case compliance or silence are not achieved.
Monsieur Robespierre! Monsieur Robespierre!
As noted here many times, the overlap of sexual dysmorphia – transgenderism – and childhood abuse, often childhood sexual abuse, is pronounced. Dysmorphic people report such experiences at rates far higher than the general population. Adults who have been violated as children are in turn much more likely to have, shall we say, issues regarding normal boundaries, and to act inappropriately with minors.
In light of which, the preoccupation with children seen among trans activists becomes easier to comprehend. If not exactly comforting.
I was reminded of this for some reason:

Livin’ the meme – a “plus sized woman” in a discussion about “Fat Bottomed Girls”.
Smart people and…lawyers…are 100% responsible for everything this man did after his first conviction in 1990. No excuses. They let a predator out to destroy young people’s lives. Pretending anything less is simply being an accomplice. The lawyers who let this happen, who threatened legal action against those trying to avoid this guy, and yes there were some in various capacities, ought to be disbarred. But that never happens even in more direct cases.
The author actually uses the collective noun “crews” twice.
Throughout recorded history this term has referred to individuals of one, and only one, demographic.
I think she knows, you know.
This is a cross-cultural phenomenon. Consider for example Afghanistan, where sexual abuse of young boys is rampant, and those boys in turn grow up to be abusers.
This right here is precisely the kind of bullshit that I am talking about. This isn’t about Mike Lindell specifically, nor even about the clearly intentional provocation by the lawyer, a whole other aspect of this lawfare crap, it’s the frivolous lawsuits and those with an interest in perpetuating them. Those being the lawyers on all sides. It’s power. Purely power. And conservatives are to bloody stupid to see it. They bend over backwards to excuse it. Because seeing reality is just too frightening.
That article is paywalled for me. Are y’all SF Chronicle subscribers? Curious as to the context.
I had to look that up:
Very bad for teeth: The food ends up containing tiny particles of stone which prematurely wear down the teeth. An anthropologist once told me of archaeological evidence that this was responsible for the extremely worn condition of prehistoric human teeth.
Dang. Screwed up the indentation again. When oh when will that promised Disqus bug fix be released?

Ran across this just this morning:
Coincidence?
As you wish. Synopsis of 2-3,000 word article:-
”Group of young black males casing cars to be broken into are a common sight in SF. Here are a large number of reasons why it’s not really their fault even though we haven’t actually got a scooby-doo whose fault it is”.
Could this be the one?
An archived version.
I think not. The greater the number of laws, the less likely anyone could ever possibly understand them. There was a book years back, I never read it but it used to come up a lot, whose premise was that the typical American commits three felonies a day. Back then, while I kind of agreed, I thought that number/frequency a bit high. Today I’m not so sure. But the threat isn’t just civil. The far greater problem are the laws that (supposedly) aren’t really laws, “just” “reasonable and customary” “practices”. Yes, I’m about to run out of quote marks so if you’re early Christmas shopping and think of me…anyways… I used to say that we have legislated ourselves into anarchy but what is going on between the lawyers, the insurance companies, and the judges in civil courts is likely just as bad if not worse since the citizens have no say in it nor are the overwhelming majority of them remotely aware of the problem. Yet it stares them in the face. Every. Damn. Day.
Dammit. F MTV, I want my edit function…back.
But the threat isn’t just
civilcriminalAhem.
Thx. Wife couldn’t hit it from her ipad either. Guessing we hit our freebie limit.
As to the article …I… I just wouldn’t know where to start. The ‘crew’ thing is nothing compared to the rest of that bloody pile of idiotic reasoning…”reasoning”. I gave up after the first several paragraphs of bloody obvious BS and copium. The vast majority of people in this country, this isn’t limited to SF or California or “the (blue) cities”. This sort of idiocy, these coping mechanisms are thick. Even up here in Appalachia. If you think you are safe in flyover country, keep an eye on the small homes BS “industry” that is making inroads into rural areas. They are doing it with the willful help and even encouragement of locals. Long-time locals in fact. Especially the “locals” who left and came back bringing their “enlightenment” with them. Mostly under the guise of “helping” the local poor and(non)working class.
Wearing Crocs out in public, even those with the fancy-schmancy heel strap, is just a dumb thing to do. Especially in Chicago.
Sigh…edit again…
Of course that really doesn’t need to be said, does it? I mean…does it?
Three Felonies a Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent, by Harvey Silvergate
When citizens object to crime, politicians pretend to do something about it by passing new laws instead of enforcing existing ones. The new laws are enforced just as little as the old ones, and the cycle repeats. See, for example, the anonymous UK police bloggers like David Copperfield who frequently wrote about this. The government’s lack of interest in enforcing the basic laws that protect all citizens suggests that the State no longer exists to serve the good citizens but instead to dole out favors and punishments to favored and disfavored groups.
An exception to the above is when the new laws contain oppressive encroachments on legitimate civil liberties and are used by authorities to selectively target people they don’t like or merely see as convenient victims. Remember when politicians promised that civil forfeiture laws were “needed” to punish drug kingpins and would be used with great care and restraint? We now have authorities seizing automobiles and cash and property from random citizens when there is zero evidence of any crime? I could go on with other examples.
Mystified…
I am literally laughing out loud at this article.
One of my absolute favorite anecdotes is an article on that exact same subject, published in this exact same “newspaper” some 15 years ago.
Central figure was a career break-in crook, living in Oakland, who commuted into SF to “work”. He’d been arrested 12 times in two years, but that hadn’t slowed him down.
Article closed with a quote from mid-level SFPD guy: “Criminals need to understand what will happen if they come to San Francisco”.
LOL. Yeah, dude. NOTHING.
I stay the hell away from SF these days unless under extreme duress.
Certain suburbs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area don’t have Dallas Area Rapid Transit terminals simply because that makes it easier for criminals to go to their workplace during the day (which is said suburbs).
Not unrelated to the SF farrago, New Mexico’s governor has thoughts, not particularly good ones, and issues a “gun control” diktat.
Certain suburbs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area don’t have Dallas Area Rapid Transit
I did my part by voting against DART’s expansion for this very reason.
Only a bigot would be repulsed.
Only a bigot..
So, one sees picture after picture (thank you David) of persons like this one. Morbidly obese and/or bodies massively decorated and/or hyper-ornamented clothing or hair.
And one wonders. How are they surviving? It’s the Dole, right? (speaking generally) I can’t conceive of any employer for them.
So all their fetishes, and psychic disturbances, and irrational behavior, is paid for by me, right?
I’m not just hallucinating, right?
… I can’t conceive of any employer for them.
The US public schools seem to have a disproportionate share of the type.
Mostly. But don’t rule out Mommy and Daddy money, an extension of Grandpa and Grandma’s money (both sides). A good number of messed up people never had to be productive. At one time these people became beach bums or “adventurers” or something less. Their egos were fulfilled by being different in at least a somewhat useful manner. Only so much room for those. Harder to attract attention when most of your friends are already living an “alternative” life.

He’s been waiting his whole life to do this.
Champion
Who could resist that ?
I grew up in a town where timber straddle carriers occasionally strayed out on to the public roads. This was the 1980’s. If you were on the RD250, quite obviously you were going to do that.
Had a squeeze in the early 90’s that was working towards being one of these.
Probably a doctor of it now.
Anyway, there was absolutely no problem that couldn’t be made worse by talking about it more, and then some more, with her.
And one wonders. How are they surviving? It’s the Dole, right? (speaking generally) I can’t conceive of any employer for them.
Sadly, I know of one who is a priest in the Diocese of Orange in Southern California, so there’s that for employment.
Some of them find employment out of the public eye. Some tone down their appearance when at work. And some find jobs in neighborhoods where degeneracy is celebrated.
Just how much can you get from “the dole”, anyway? Surely not enough to actually live on given rent rates and inflationed prices of today.
Maybe qualify for mental disability benefits. I’ve seen some extremely tiny apartments in very cheap buildings on less than desirable land.
As stated above but in addition to Mommy and Daddy…If you know how to work the system it’s doable. It’s not just the Dole, there’s the practice of just not paying rent, numerous programs not just government but NGO and even churches willing to “help” them. Do nothing jobs for minimal pay or pay under the table. Day jobs for cash. Petty crime. And let’s not forget simple begging. There’s a vast underbelly out there and if you poke around you will see it.
After hitting post…another thing I’m reminded of is the professional student thing. Back in the 80’s when I was a college freshman we had a guy in his 30’s who lived in our dorm. We rarely saw him, only to come and go. The story was he worked the system for student loans and whatever with no intention of actually getting a degree, just room and board on the system. There was a book by Abbie Hoffman back then called Free, IIRC. My roommate and I read it and it was fascinating how one could live without being a part of the System. Of course the book was 1960’s era but most of those…principles…still apply.
Be patient.
Can’t speak for the U.K. but in the U.S. ‘the dole’ is accompanied by many other government supplied (taxpayer funded) subventions.
Revolution for the Hell of It, by “Free”. All those hippies and leftists who thought it was cool to be parasites upon the people who worked for a living.
feminist glaciology (or math or or or): in most cases, esp in math/geology/physics, they can point to not a single thing that would be different with a feminist slant.
Glaciers are aggressive, violent entities with unbridled power, harassing and gouging the oppressed landscape. Symbolic of the patriarchy, it behoves feminist theory to research the ablation and rapid retreat of these offensive aggressors in the interests of victims’ rights.
