Tara, the “poly trans lesbian” quoted above, has given quite a lot of thought to the subject of forcing his way into women’s bathrooms and other intimate spaces. Perhaps we should be thanking him for clarifying the issue, albeit inadvertently.

Tolerance isn’t regarded as a virtue any more, is it? Gradations of tolerance are no longer accepted as a safety buffer for the conflicts of diversity: as long as people respect convention when in public, don’t get in the way of their having unconventional private lives; not everything you disapprove of has to be addressed in the legal or political realm – better to choose non-overlapping social circles and to be civil but distant when you do meet socially; keep the regulation on the books but only enforce it in cases of blatant abuse (like men waving their dicks around in women’s locker rooms).
That model of tolerance is now regarded as apartheid, discrimination, bias, creating second class citizens, silencing, erasure, ghettoization, stigmatization by categorizing a group’s morals as an acceptable or unacceptable deviation from the majority group’s norms.
Old thinking: you stay in your corner and I’ll stay in mine. New thinking: I’m going to push into your corner while crying that I’m the one getting backed into a corner.
Old thinking: that’s not a hill worth anyone dying on. New thinking: every hill is a hill worth dying on (or better, worth making your bigoted opponent die on) because gradations of tolerance are intolerable.

Well, no, not any more than it’s Constitutional to tax bullets at $300 per (ISTR that eventually got overturned as well). But at least since Kelo vs. New London, CT we’re out where the Constitutional buses don’t run anyway.
As I’ve said before, I don’t think there’s any peaceful way back to sanity from where we are. Our best case scenario is a Pinochet-style dictator who violently purges every last leftist from every civic institution, and then hands over power to a republican government. But a lot of eggs are going to get broken in the process of making that omelette.

Good point. It seems many of these “transformations” from man to woman occur after the man has been caught at some sexual misconduct or other. Apparently arrest is a real come-to-trans-Jesus experience.
Jailhouse conversions have been going on as long as there have been jailhouses. These are done for the same reason and are about as sincere.
That was the gist of one of the first dirty jokes I remember hearing from adult men once I was old enough for them to quasi-initiate me in the group. I don’t remember the details but it involved a man who is discovered by his friends to be wearing panty hose. They ask when this started and he says something to the effect of “Since my wife found them in the glove compartment”.

Not to go back to Marbury vs. Madison but the real absurdity that I believe ultimately broke our constitution was Wickard v. Filburn. Not into the details on Kelo but eminent domain in general takes a lot of unjustified crap from the libertarians. The private-to-private is definitely an outrage. But once the lawyers get in there and bastardize the meaning of words, we’re all f’d. I’ve suspected that somewhere underneath it all in that case is essentially a false equivalency lie. But as I said, I’ve not gotten into the weeds enough to know. Just a heavy suspicion based on the crap that I’ve seen lawyers pull.

Banned from Twitter now, but came across a ‘Roxie’ who had a gender recognition certificate stating he would fight anyone that prevented a trans woman using a female facility.
I asked him why he was threatening women (as per other posts, really not helping their cause or making the case they think).
It probably took 20 or 30 messages before he realised what he’d said, and deleted his account.
They’re really not very bright are they.
