The Educators of Tomorrow
Lifted from the comments, University of Pennsylvania teaching assistant Stephanie McKellop signals her wokeness to lesser beings:
That’s this lady here. The one whose areas of expertise include “race, gender and the body,” “self-marriage” and, wait for it, “racial blame.” And who announces, rather proudly, “The classroom is the place YOU get to control the social setting.” A mixed blessing, I suspect.
Update:
From the pages of Inside Higher Ed:
Stephanie McKellop, a graduate teaching assistant in history, says she is under attack by fringe-right groups for using progressive stacking in her classes and then tweeting about it. Worse, she says, the university is cowing to such groups instead of supporting her. She’s claimed on social media that her classes were cancelled this week and she may be asked to leave her programme.
According to sociology professor Jesse Daniels, a supporter of Ms McKellop, the negative public response – which included a spectrum of students, educators and parents, of various hues and orientations – is “ripped from the playbook of the far right.” So if you object to overt racism in the classroom, racism framed as piety, then there’s something suspect about you, something marginal. Ms McKellop prefers to dismiss her critics as “white nationalists” and, inevitably, “Nazis.” Readers may wish to ponder how any students who object to this “progressive stacking” policy – i.e., blatant, self-satisfied racial discrimination – will also be designated, and subsequently treated.
I’m sure there’s a word for this sort of thing.
Dear sweet Stephanie has, following pushback, protected her Tweets and is apparently mystified that anyone reading them might find her even a little bit racist and perhaps unsuitable for classroom work.

Note that those who find her sentiments somewhat objectionable are casually dismissed as “white nationalists” and “Nazis.” Which makes me wonder how any students who object to her “progressive stacking” policy – i.e., blatant, self-satisfied racial discrimination – will also be designated, and subsequently treated.
dogpile the uni saying I’m racist
Saying? Self-awareness fail.
Saying?
Yes, the obliviousness is remarkable. When her comments met with pushback, including from parents and other educators, Ms McKellop didn’t pause to reflect on her own assumptions. Instead, she doubled down, declared her own self-evident righteousness, and of course her victimhood, and dismissed those who criticised her as “Nazis.”
Again, you have to wonder how that attitude plays out in the classroom.
She looks white to me.
How can she allow a Nazi to be teaching her class?
Somewhat related:
Because gender condescension mixed with misandry is the path to utopia.
As a white woman (only ranked #3 on the victimhood scale) shouldn’t she want a black woman (ranked #1) to take her teaching assistant job?
As a white woman (only ranked #3 on the victimhood scale) shouldn’t she want a black woman (ranked #1) to take her teaching assistant job?
I’m trying to imagine the mentality of continually categorising people by their imagined victimhood quotient, irrespective of whether any of the people being patronised in this way are in fact victims, or anything close to victims, and doing it every day, year after year, until it becomes a habit, a mental reflex. I don’t imagine that kind of presumption is conducive to realism, or personal happiness.

Actually, at the top of any progressive pyramid you’ll always find that especially annoying subset of white liberals who anoint themselves as “change makers,” and are thus exempt from all the rules they want to impose on everyone else.
No doubt, Ms. Ultimate Woke views herself as a change maker. One of the good whites, of course.
“My black women”. How progressive! No vestiges of racism there.
“Other POC”. Warm and human isn’t the right word for this statement. She could work with Mrs Clinton to warm up her persona.

What could this person possibly teach anyone, that they would be prepared to enroll in the school and spend tens of thousands of dollars and spend the time to go to her lectures?
Also, the repeated spelling of “white” but “Black”. A petty offense, but one that suggests a certain deep-seated ingrained-ness.
And she says all this proudly. As if it were a basis for applause.
Say something vile, get called on it, then race to the fainting couches as the helpless victim.
What a pathetic cycle. And after anointing herself as the all-powerful stacker of progressive pieties, to boot.
Say something vile, get called on it, then race to the fainting couches as the helpless victim.
And yet we’re told, quite often, that calling out racism and sexism is a wonderful, beautiful thing. Generally by people very much like Ms McKellop.
Yet when the police progressive stack everyone gets upset.
Woe is she.
I had the cute idea that Penn could defend me against Nazis.
Did the people defending her have to queue up by race too?
I think the notion that there would be any male in one of her classes is likely a fiction.
She looks white to me.
How can she allow a Nazi to be teaching her class?
Indeed. If you note on her U Penn bio she has the website Nursing Clio linked. If you go to the link you will notice that the Nursing Clio “Editorial Team” spans the POC spectrum from pearl to eggshell, and the contributors likewise with but a couple of exceptions. If that isn’t nazi white supremacy I don’t know what is, but as she linked them, she must be a crypto-nazi.
In the abstract, calling someone other than the class “gunner(s)” in order to encourage quieter students and/or increase class participation is not a bad thing, but its obvious she delights in marginalizing certain groups. Can there be any doubt that when it comes to assessment, office hour access, etc. she behaves the same way?

Sadly, no. There are indeed males who eagerly lap up that sort of poison.
Yet when the police progressive stack everyone gets upset.
Heh.
Of course, what’s really going on is that the police are only responding to the criminals’ progressive stacking.
The rot goes deep.
The rot goes deep.
As we’ve seen, many times, the pathology among educators is no accident – it’s taught.
Of course, what’s really going on is that the police are only responding to the criminals’ progressive stacking.
On that thought, and slightly off topic, can anyone on the eastern side of the pond explain what is going on with your cops ?
First: Slavery is closer than you think.
Second: The response is: Rozzers paint their fingernails.
However, if you call them on the foolishness:
Evidently more seriously than slavery, unless toenails are painted to raise awareness of “hateful” tweets to the 5-0.
There are indeed males who eagerly lap up that sort of poison.
True, I was not counting the betas playing the white knight hoping to get some shaboinking out of groveling.
And, if I have to, white men.
She sounds nice.
[Professor] Daniels said she didn’t know how pervasive progressive stacking is, but underscored that it’s nothing new.
I bet it’s new to plenty of parents who are paying for this shit.

I shall report myself to the correction booth.
That dissertation will be enthralling. What “backcountry” spaces anywhere are into self-marriage and self-divorce? What are the terms of self-divorce? Who gets custody of the cats? Where does wife-selling fit into self-marriage?
Enquiring minds want to know.
From McKellop’s bio (my bold):
“I am particularly interested in popular and deviant forms of marriage and divorce…”
I’ll bet she is.
Worse, she says, the university is cowing to such groups instead of supporting her.
Of course. First, it’s an apparent Title IX violation, which leaves them open to federal financial penalties and perhaps student lawsuits.
Second, universities know full well that an institution that gains a reputation for being hostile — perhaps I should say especially hostile, since most are already hostile — to white males risks falling enrollment and revenue.
I wonder where Rachel Dolezal and Shaun King would fit into her victim-hood matrix?
More here:
However, as “equity” translates as something like “equality of outcome regardless of inputs,” i.e., double standards and discrimination in favour of those deemed “marginalised,” contradictions and hypocrisy are difficult to avoid. Mr Fluharty might as well be saying, “The university’s policies prohibiting discrimination are intended to reinforce our commitment to discrimination.”

The evasions and dishonesties in academia are now so pervasive and elaborate, so entrenched in the culture, and in any number of policies and official positions, that it makes realistic discussion, or anything approaching realistic discussion, both hazardous and unlikely.
These people aren’t smart enough to tell others how to run their lives.

See comments elsewhere regarding falling white male enrollments. It has been falling for years. If they were truly interested in retaining white makes, none of this would have gotten anywhere near this far. The revenue, in so far as modern university administrators understand such vulgar things, will simply be made up by appealing to their government buddies for more subsidies for “underprivileged” youths. They just need to keep up a bit of a ruse when their little acolytes like this one go too far. It will all blow over by the time the next budgetary crisis occurs and by then they will have had the time to attribute the problem to other causes. See Mizzou’s excuses.

When 20 years ago I suggested to my “conservative” Presbyterian doctor that this day was coming, I was advised that I might need to speak to a psychiatrist. And it’s not just academia.
I just had a Twitter convo with a Scot living in Amsterdam (“citizen of the world”) who claimed to be laughing him/herself silly over the notion that Western civ could be destroyed when the Muslims reach majority in Europe.
Among the “refutations”:
— I’ve never heard of a society collapsing from low birth rates (Me: contraception and abortion are an unprecedented situation, so you can’t cite precedent as evidence)
— Are you really suggesting Europeans should stop using birth control? (Me: hardly)
— Western civ is too strong to collapse (Me: History is all about civs rising and falling. How’s Egypt these days?)
— You’re living in a paranoid fantasy (Me: Demographics are destiny and you’re reproducing below replacement)
I was going to compliment my Twitterlocutor for being civil (he/she was, by Twitter standards), but now I see that I’ve been suspended from Twitter for 12 hours.
That’s just amazing.
Not entirely unrelated.
but now I see that I’ve been suspended from Twitter for 12 hours.
What did you do? You’ve not been spitting at orphans again, I hope.
I had to delete two tweets: one saying that Islam has bloody borders (I was responding to the assertion that I couldn’t name any incident in the last 200 years where Muslims have conquered civs and destroyed their stuff, the other saying that Muslim immigrants see European woman as whores who deserve to be humiliated thru rape.
I had been arguing that when Muslims reach majority in about 2 generations, they’ll destroy the cathedrals and museums for being offensive to Islam. My twitterlocutor didn’t think that’s possible because Western civ is too strong.
*sigh*
I hate that Mark Steyn is usually right.

The Bamiyan Buddhas and Temple of Bel could not be reached for comment.
Oh, wait, the Taliban and ISIS are not real Moslems – silly me.
I hate that Mark Steyn is usually right.
I’ve been a fan of Mark’s for over a decade and I’m a founding member. I noticed that even the Happy Warrior seems to be losing some of his elan these days; he’s rerunning more and more old columns because, well, nothing has actually changed but to add “that, and more since” at the bottom. I think the Lawsuit That Never Ends has affected him more than he’s letting on.
