Seemed a bit disappointed.
See Lady doings above.
Bull breeds are notoriously bad swimmers and French bulldogs in particular swim like bricks!
‘Allahu akbarriers’.
Morning, all.
Scritches.
Get a dog, they said, part two.
Lesson two is making fire.
Looks like she changed her mind.
I see Salon has finally winked out of existence.
For those unfamiliar with said publication and its scrupulously progressive readership, do let me offer a flavour of the content on offer.
Wrenching tales of water bottle separation anxiety:
There were of course other feats of delusional hyperventilation:
We mustn’t forget the alleged phenomenon of Trump-inflicted erectile dysfunction:
Oh, and a mad woman who can’t stop thinking about Donald Trump while having panic attacks and clutching soil.
Salon. Written by and for totally normal people, not at all unhinged.
[ Slides tip jar to more prominent position, adds fairy lights. ]
Oh noes! I’m not going to have Mandy Marcotte and Chauncey Devega around to offer insane takes to on which to sharpen my mocking skills??
Nurse! He’s off his meds again!
So much of Salon‘s content was bewildering, written by – and for – people unmoored from reality, untroubled by obvious fabrication, and intensely neurotic. As with Everyday Feminism, also now defunct, it seemed to attract a remarkably high concentration of contributors with non-trivial mental health issues.
These were not merely people with whom one might disagree about some issue or policy decision. They were people with whom realistic communication did not seem possible.
I’m watching these people shoving him ineffectually and thinking “You are standing right next to a entire rack of heavy glass bottles weighted with liquid. Am I missing something?”
Well, you’d think that the spitting at, and punching of, random people might offer a clue as to kind of creature he is and how one might respond. The idea that one should be inhibited by some concern for his wellbeing is… morally disgusting.
Discourse was attempted.
And in Mission: Impossible theme music trivia news.
Would.
I’m poking through the (impressively extensive) collection and I have to say, some of these would not look out of place in a horror film. Still, the annotations are helpful.
“The floor is exactly as sticky as it looks.”
I suppose it would deter lingering.
Depending on where that was in the US or Canada(?) those people are avoiding having their lives destroyed by the ‘justice system’.
A good collection of Salon gibberings here.
‘Ping’
Will that be this blog’s entire comment on the US midterm election?
Bless you, sir. May your enemies have clearly visible skincare issues.
Simultaneously loathing and emulating females is next-level DSM-5.
It doesn’t bode well. And I doubt it would make female readers inclined to beckon him into their toilets and changing rooms. I’m guessing that sisterhood won’t be the word that springs to mind.
What blighted the potatoes this time?
(via)
Make sure they bury it face down.
Before or after the seizure?
You are, perhaps, demanding more of the word ‘good’ than is advisable.
[ Raises hand. ]
Why is the ludicrous bint not being laughed out of the room?

This one allows for a free circulation of air.
Yes. The lawyers not pictured. Crack him over the skull or virtually anywhere else and your life will be severely disrupted if not ruined. Especially if this was a blue zone or Canada.*. When you really think about it, it would be a stupid move. Best not to think in these situations tho.
*And we’re all fixing to be blue zones before too long.
Forget Jake, it’s the Oireachtas.*
All you need to know about the Irish Parliament is that it’s twinned with Mos Eisley. And Mos Eisley was happy to find somewhere with a worse reputation.
*pronounced or-ock-tus if you were wondering.
On occasion I’ve heard complaints about the spelling of words in the English language not being consonant¹ with the pronunciation of those words.
They’ve obviously never been introduced to Gaelic in any of its forms.
¹No, I couldn’t resist. Why do you ask?
Due to Henry’s recent comment, I now have Alison Limerick’s Where Love Lives popping in and out of my head.
I AM RELIVING 1991.
I remember a holiday in Wales in the mid-Nineties. Attempting to pronounce the place names on road signs was fun. Imagine a car full of Klingons having seizures.
More 1991 music for David
A good year, actually.
Not long ago, the Irish were bombing English pubs for being English.
Soon, Irish Muslims will be bombing Irish pubs for being pubs.
Congratulations, people of Ireland.
So much of Salon‘s content was
Written to encourage, propagate and excuse neurotic behavior in its readership.
I’m still processing the idea that, in the world of Salon‘s readership, you can just declare yourself to be an activist without bothering to specify any particular area of interest or expertise. Like it’s a job title. General-purpose activist.
Re: how to spell seventeen. Per grok:
Go figure. Had a somewhat similar experience a couple years ago with Siri. Came across a street named “Twelvth Street”. Now, that can’t be right, so I ask Siri to spell the word. Siri comes back with “12th”. I repeatedly ask to spell the word. Same response.
That one appears to be a laser scan done using something like this (I’ve done hundreds of these).
We all have some sort of narrative in our heads. Somewhere in that narrative are lies and/or misunderstandings. In order to have any meaningful conversation you must level up, to some degree, your lies and misunderstandings to the level of lies and misunderstandings of the other party. There’s an inflection point beyond which verbal communication becomes impossible and physical communication becomes necessary. If there is to be any sort of communication, that is.
Actually found one establishment in that link that I have been to. Will’s Pub, listed as Orlando but pretty sure it’s technically in Winter Park. Thanks to having a bionic bladder, I don’t think I used the bathroom there. Hipster bar music venue. Saw Southern Culture on the Skids there. About what I would expect.
The left has no theory of mind of conservatives.
That defect has been discussed here before. Was also discussed here.
