Let the mass deportations begin!
Pursuant to the Umbridge topic in two previous threads:
Here’s the post about Umbridge that’s been going around lately:
TIL that the anagram of Dolores Umbridge is “gruesome old bird.” Yes, JKR would have done that on purpose.
Book 5 is by far the one most pertinent to our times. At the end of Book 4, Harry fought the newly embodied Voldemort (who’d killed Cedric Diggory), but when he returned from the graveyard and said Voldemort was back, Fudge was absolutely not going to have it.
Book 5 is Harry having spoken the truth — which he knew because he was THERE — and the Ministry of Magic being determined to silence him, because Voldemort being back was too awful to contemplate.
Cornelius Fudge was a typical bureaucrat who wasn’t much interested in scrambling to prepare for terrible things to happen, so he decided it was easier to punish Harry and silence him — as if that would actually keep Voldemort at bay.
In Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Umbridge insists that they will not be using their wands — they’d just be reading books and writing essays. Harry was livid because he knew danger was coming.
So Umbridge, a good little Ministry soldier, decided to punish him for contradicting Ministry Truth. When Umbridge forced Harry to write “I must not tell lies” in his own blood, she was quite obviously not a well-intentioned person who simply didn’t know the truth; she took sadistic pleasure in Harry’s pain, and she inflicted it not to champion TRVTH but to bend him to her will. All while fluffy kittens gamboled across the plate display.
The trans activists want JKR to write “Trans women are women” in her own blood. They want us all to carve those words into our flesh. But JKR can spot Cluster B dysfunction even when it’s covered in rainbow glitter, because she already knows about the smiling, simpering woman in pink frilly robes who affects sweetness and harmlessness but is actually a cold-blooded sadist.
No way that kid got up there without adult assistance in the first place!
It’s where kids come from.
A lot of people need deporting.
Morning, all.
She, they and he all work for him. Now, listen up kiddies.
Road closure of note.
He’s not really making the case for admitting more like him.
One more time:
On kinds of immigrants and basic discernment.
I haven’t read the books, but I have seen the films. I actually enjoyed the later ones. And yes, the Umbrage storyline does have a certain resonance, retrospectively. The whole this-is-not-happening-and-you-are-wicked-for-noticing-that-it-is thing.
Liberal women are not okay.
Judging by social media, they do seem uniquely prone to… well, variations of that.
I thought he was going to leave her on the doorstep. 🤣
I get the feeling his patience was being tested. And I rather like how the second woman, the one sprawled out on the driveway, was less of a priority than retrieving the discarded shoes and straightening the door mat.
Quite right, I say.
Road closure of note.
The colonialists leave and everything goes to shit.
An article in today’s New York Times caught my eye with its headline:
Her Roof Was About to Be Fixed. Then Immigration Agents Showed Up.
In the article she says she was told they have “work visas” and while she in theory supports deportation, “these people,” she claims, have been living here and have jobs and contribute to the economy.
So, I read the article with the foolish notion that somewhere might be an overlooked problem: what about the impact on the economy of TRULY legitimate contractors? What about a mom-and-pop roofing company getting undercut by another who hires illegals, underpays them, and then skips out when the work sucks? All these articles about ICE showing up fail to mention the small business applauding their efforts because they are tired of losing clients to the ones causing a race to the bottom with prices because they use cheap, illegal labor.
Sorry, Althea, you get what you paid for. No sympathy.
Well, there’s your problem.
Discourse was attempted.
She wants to be on her phone and smoke a spliff.
Because working is not for her.
Is she too busy eating?
As an attempt to fish for sympathy on social media, it does, I think, leave something to be desired.
For some reason, this came to mind.
Bookmark palate cleanser. Willy is a blue Australian Cattle Dog. This breed is being surrendered often at shelters because “Bluey” is a popular kids show, parents get one of these heelers, and then is surprised to learn it requires regular exercise and is headstrong since it is a herding breed. Go figure.
Off to do Christmas pictures of dogs at a local pet spa . . .
Related, the men are not exactly covering themselves with glory either, of course “men” is a very loose term in such cases.
Good news for all the sci-fi nerds, a new Star Trek has dropped, as the kids say.
Oh dear. I’m not, as they say, feeling it.
You mean like a turd?
So it’s like One Tree Hill, but in space? Or space-adjacent.
And in social degradation news.
My days of not giving a damn about Star Trek are definitely coming to a middle.
Ordered to arrest a Musselman?
And there’s your problem right there.
A bit fashy don’t you think?
Helps them glide from minaret to minaret.
As a rule I’m not in favour of burning flags . . .
Anyone contributing to the New York Times should be held on an ICE detainer.
Gonna need a lot of lithium.
If only there were a mute button.
Or some falling masonry.
As a minimal social media user, I would be completely unaware of AWFULS and trans rants and Trump voodoo dolls and screaming except for this site. I think there are millions of especially men like me that just do not know about how much crazy is out there. TDS is especially unhinged and is like a psychosis.
“But think of the poor gang-rapists!”
This right here. Try telling people wtf is happening and get met with blank stares. Because that stuff that isn’t really happening is effectively not happening in most people’s perceptions of reality. Most people rarely get the news and most of those that do get it, get it either casually in passing or as intentional consumers of the mainstream media.
No.
When we achieve communism, the New Soviet Man will not require food or sustenance of any kind. Or so I’m told.
Well, quite. It’s a rather fundamental misunderstanding of reality. Still, no shortage of ambition. By which I mean, dreary, whiny, unspanked narcissism.
Clearly, madam hasn’t been told no anywhere near enough.

For those who missed it, this is very much related:
Those lovely surgical adventures.
