In this case, a simple flight of stairs should do the trick.

That woke me up. *puts down coffee*
He speaks for women. No, really, he does.
All he needed was to be wearing this and the parody would be complete.
I mean, it was parody, right? Right?
“A friendly reminder.”
She doesn’t sound very friendly.
“You trade them in, I think.”
Do they have to be your own?
Morning, all.
You know, for kids.
She doesn’t sound very friendly.
The gist seems to be, “Don’t contradict me, ever, even on points of fact.” Because she’s totally fine with being fat and not unhappy at all. Clearly.
Do they have to be your own?
Julia, you monster.

I can’t even. Just putting that out there.
Forget helicopters. I prefer sniper rifles.
The up-buggering of Bond continues, I see.
How to kill your own megabucks franchise.
@Rafi: lovely Tweet yesterday when this dropped:
‘Do you expect me to talk, Goldfinger?’
‘No, Mr Bond, I expect you to cry…’
How to kill your own megabucks franchise.
It’s an odd decision, to say the least, and I can’t imagine that much of the audience for Bond films has been crying out for a softer, fluffier, more “sensitive” hero. The last offering leaned heavily on those supposedly appealing attributes and the result was dull, mopey, and maudlin, and given its enormous costs, not exactly a commercial success. When I finally got around to watching it, at home, I was actually surprised by how bad and misjudged it was. You sort of expect a modern Bond film to, whatever else, at least be entertaining in a brisk and efficient manner, but the pacing was awful, the characters utterly unengaging – Léa Seydoux was by no means a triumph of casting – and the whole thing felt flat.
No, Time To Die, as someone quipped.
“A friendly reminder:”
I am always awed by the articulate brilliance of these Woke types.

“Scientists monitor methane rising from the floor of Baikal, and while it is said to be increasing, they have disputed this is due to global warming.”
Is this because methane bubbles (in this case) are not seen as being negative and therefore must not have been caused by Global Warming™?

Hey, that’s right next to Roy Thomson Hall which I believe is headquarters of The Toronto Chapter of The Guild of Evil.

Cliff-hanger.
He speaks for women
From this morning’s Wall Street Journal:
“The American Psychological Association, which establishes the norms for clinical practice in the U.S., defines “transgender” as “an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth.'”
What jumped out at me was “does not conform to that typically associated .” That is rather ambiguous and highly subjective, and yet it is promulgated by what one would think is a scientific organization. Not to mention that it serves to illustrate the utter irony that people who consider themselves “non-binary” can only support their identity by using stereotypes of what they think is a woman or is a man, allowing for no overlap or grey area – a very binary position to have.
So, yes, he speaks for women, but in actuality he speaks for himself and his delusion as to what is a woman. The difference between a cisgender (I hate that word) and the transgender definition is that a cisgender is more likely to say “In defining ‘what is a woman,’ scientifically it is the presence of XX chromosomes but socially I am a woman because that is what I am, regardless of my behavior which may see me prefer sports over shopping,” whereas the transgender would say, “You cannot define ‘what is a woman’ because it is a social construct but I say it is what I want it to be and I expect everyone to accept and adopt my definition without question.”
Ladies at large
Note that not one male student came forward to assist the teacher. My thought is that every classroom has a fire extinguisher and he should have used that to break the girls from their tantrums.
Intrigue
Lord, I haven’t watched that in ages and now that I am laid up with my injury, I must find some old episodes.
Sorry, I meant cliff-hanger, not intrigue in my comment above. Blame it on the pain meds.
Now, now, let us not forget that England has Keith Richards on its team.

Somewhat related.
And for those who missed the reference.
Point: He speaks for women.
Counterpoint: A voice of sanity, at Berekely , mirabile dictu, and no doubt soon to be yeeted from that institution for wrongthought.
Meanwhile, this chap doesn’t have male privilege.
promulgated by what one would think is a scientific organization.
One would think. Just not this one. Was quite obvious to me decades ago that the APA and that profession in general was mighty far from anything technically scientific. Ah…but dare question them back then and YOU had potential psychological problems that perhaps needed to be addressed. Nice to see that finally some people are starting to understand this. Still risky to point it out in a mainstream sense, however.
In defining ‘what is a woman,’
As I was told by a lefty “women’s clinic” worker friend of a lefty friend when I ask my lefty friend (cousin-in-law actually…retire college professor), “Can you even define what a woman is?”, well…”EVERYONE knows that a woman defines herself”. (My emphasis)
The up-buggering of Bond continues
Possibly literally, if this continues. The truth is that Bond absolutely is a Cold War relic, and although much the same conditions exist today (Russia! Russia! Russia!) they might not by the time a film gets finished and released. Since the opening of Casino Royale I’ve thought that the way to relaunch the franchise is to go all in: make new movies set during the Cold War and really play up the “we have to do this covertly and deniably so as not to escalate tensions” angle.
Note that not one male student came forward to assist the teacher
Of course not. They’re not idiots. They know they so much as raise a finger they’re the bad guy.
The American Psychological Association
…has long since ceased to be a scientific organization. They’ve stopped hiding that their analyses of anything to do with sexual abnormality is determined by activist lobbying rather than science.
The Long March Through the Institutions is complete. Bezmenov warned us but we didn’t listen, and if he’s right then there’s no way out of this. We’re in the second lost generation now.

That could be fun. I enjoyed the first half or so of Casino Royale, but lost interest a little when the thing leant heavily on the love-interest storyline. My impression is that while the audience for Bond films may be entertained by the various femmes fatales, they don’t much care about the hero’s romantic life or the prospect of him settling down and raising a family.
I’ve thought that the way to relaunch the franchise is to go all in: make new movies set during the Cold War
They could make it about what happened when the Long March Through the Institutions started, but that might be too boring.
Sort of a “how did we get to where we are in 2022?” story.
A measure of IQ is the ability to deceive. The limping dog shows that. Sometimes dogs will bark at the door to get the other dog to drop a bone or toy. Crows will deceive other crows by pretending to store food but not really do so.
On this measure, the Woke seem quite dim, because their lies are entirely unconvincing. Less than the limping dog.
I’m thinking this is a joke, but nowadays who know?
I’m thinking this is a joke, but nowadays who know?
I fear that is not a joke. BTW, I posted that in the previous thread as “do not click this link”. I’m not sure which is more cringe-inducing: the publicly flaunted insanity or the liberal-mandated approval of same.
On this measure, the Woke seem quite dim, because their lies are entirely unconvincing.
Except that forcing us to applaud things we know to be lies is part of their game.
“We know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know we know they are lying, we know they know we know they are lying, but they are still lying.”
—attributed to Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”
—Theodore Dalrymple
I posted that in the previous thread
Oops, sorry, I missed it.
“Since the opening of Casino Royale I’ve thought that the way to relaunch the franchise is to go all in: make new movies set during the Cold War and really play up the “we have to do this covertly and deniably so as not to escalate tensions” angle.”
I’ve thought for years that they should start again with Casino Royale and do all of the books again as straight period-piece Cold War thrillers, sticking to Fleming’s plots. (They should have done it fifteen years ago on the back of the Mad Men hype, but there’s no use in crying over spilt milk.) They might not become the massive blockbusters we’ve been used to, but they’d at least have a better chance of covering their costs.

A voice of sanity, at Berekely
The 18 minute Youtube clip is fascinating.
Professor: sex is real and unchangable, and women should have the right to exclude men from their spaces because men are violent brutes.
Milquetoast: I think we can all agree that men in women’s prisons is taking it a bit too far, but otherwise if a man has a sentimental attachment to being a woman, what’s the harm in society indulging it? Professor gives a once sentence answer to that question and he’s out.
Striver Student: I think I remember the answer to this from my June 2022 DEI training session. But if the correct answer has changed since then I’m open to changing my mind. But the striver does spot a weakness in the professor’s argument: if the right of women to have spaces that exclude men is a safety issue and not a non-negotiable principle, then the kind of thing you say if you’re an ambitious young academic who wants to pass their DEI evaluation is that safety issues should be addressed by safety bureaucrats enacting safety best practices and requiring even longer courses to teach men not to rape. That way, nobody has to be a bad person who discriminates or excludes
I’m thinking this is a joke, but nowadays who know?
I’m pretty sure the “Bushmen of the Kalahari” skin tone option is the ‘tell’ meant to let us know this is tongue-in-cheek.
We have a similar organization in Canada calls Kars4Kids.
Here in the United States, too. Extremely annoying advertisements.
Several states Attorneys General sued them, forcing them to disclose the beneficiaries: They sell themselves as raising money for poor kids, but in reality the only recipients are Jewish kids in the New York/New Jersey area, and in fact only Orthodox kids I believe. Gosh, I wonder why they hid the nature of the charity. /sarcasm
On hiding crime statistics, and deliberately choosing to not cover stories about said crimes, deliberately hide search results, or in Kierkegaard’s case, shutter his social media. If one found the contortions the woke zealots will put themselves and others through informative, consider the facts on violence by women. The topic has been studiously ignored for decades. The latest data here: https://mainweb-v.musc.edu/vawprevention/lesbianrx/factsheet.shtml
One can extrapolate from this to other relationships, to include elder abuse, child abuse, spouse and partner abuse. And at similar rates. Not all women, but too damned many, and for too damned long.
Gosh, I am frightened now.
“I think this is a joke”
