Begone, White Devils
Over at The College Fix, Dave Huber ponders the complications of being woke while simultaneously having a good time:
In [Swarthmore College student paper] The Phoenix, economics major Sameer Halepoto points to a pre-Thanksgiving party, hosted by the Swarthmore Queer Union, Swarthmore African Student Association, Swarthmore [Hispanic and Latino organisation] ENLACE, and the Swarthmore African-American Student Society, which had filled up rather quickly.
Filled up quickly. Must be the fun crowd.
Halepoto says “typical [Swarthmore] parties include an outsized number of white students (many of whom are athletes), making it harder for marginalised groups to feel welcome.” As a result, party organisers blared a repeating electronic message through speakers which warned that white people had to leave.
Vibeslayer. Or, as Mr Halepoto, our fretfully woke student columnist, puts it,
As the number of students at the party swelled, however, the organisers decided to clean house over fears of overcrowding. Specifically, it was time to kick out the white people. What followed was a message blaring through the speakers from Google Translate that looped for several minutes on end — telling white students to leave. By the time the message stopped playing, the party’s racial demographics had shifted significantly.
Mr Halepoto goes on to share his fashionable (and fashionably unsubstantiated) belief that being gay or brown or sort-of brown is a state of being “marginalised,” even on a modern, upscale, super-progressive campus, where annual tuition fees are north of $70,000. Being so cruelly downtrodden, such put-upon persons are, we’re told, entitled to “safe spaces.” In contrast, “white people” are defined, rather breezily, as a “non-marginalised group,” all party-going to the contrary. How white students who also happen to be gay should navigate student parties without risking looped and amplified racial scolding, and subsequent ejection, is not made entirely clear.
We are, however, told that,
Whiteness does not preclude people from being queer or Latinx.
Furthermore,
This uncertainty is exacerbated by the fact that even after the message stopped playing, there were still a significant number of white students at the party. It is highly unlikely that all of them were queer. As such, the message created an incentive for students to falsely identify with a marginalised identity.
At which point, ironies abound.
Mr Halepoto notes that “not everyone who stayed at the party belonged to the affinity groups,” by which he means favoured groups, or groups allowed to indulge in loud and self-satisfied acts of bigotry. And clearly, one can’t have a good time when one is so busy trying to count exactly how many white people are at one’s party, and to determine how many of those white people are in fact gay, or merely happy to be among those who are.
Seemingly troubled by a dim flickering of reality, Mr Halepoto concedes,
It is fair to question whether telling white students to leave through a text-to-speech software loop is the optimal solution to creating a more inclusive party.
The college’s own rules forbid such discrimination, though, as so often, enforcement and consequences appear to be applied rather selectively and with differing levels of vigour. And although Mr Halepoto remains uncertain of how to resolve the intersectional convolutions required of the woke – such that “marginalised groups” are “centred,” with white devils present but firmly relegated to the role of sidekick or “ally” – he does invoke the importance of “more inclusive music.”

Just so we’re clear.
This “all cultures are equal” and the “centering” of traditional knowledge leads to absurdity. Will NZ science classes now teach that you can control the weather by performing a dance, that volcanoes erupt when the gods are angry? The same problem in Aus and Canada. Claiming that science colonizes people is just absurd. Science explains why and how things work, everywhere, all the time. A dropped object does not fall at a different rate if dropped by a Maori. Turning your people away from science is doing them a huge disfavor.
People are better at differentiating faces within their own family and ethnic group. In recognizing their own people they necessarily “other” other people.
Teachers mix up faces even in monoethnic classrooms. 19 year olds think they’re unique, but when they’re all slouching in the lecture hall in their scruffy clothes, it might as well be a police lineup. Can you really be sure? I never expected a professor to remember my name, especially not in standard undergrad classes where everyone is just being processed through and nobody is setting the world alight with their individual scholarship.
And often students don’t want to be recognized by the teacher, they just want to slouch in their seats and disappear in the crowd. But if you’re the black kid in a majority white classroom, you’ll never get mixed up with another student. And if there are two black kids, you’ll keep on getting mixed up with each other, which is embarrassing especially if (with your more sensitive differentiation within your own race) you don’t think you’re anything like the other black kid. They’re unhappy because they’re fish out of water. One solution is to put the fish back into the water. But the official solution is to flood the world so fish never feel out of water.
Minorities are better at differentiating faces from the majority than the other way around. More practice. The claim is that it’s because minorities are curious and open-minded and majorities are incurious and closed minded. But look at the countries where those minorities come from, the countries where they’re the majority – are those countries known for their scholarship and art and freedom of thought, how do those countries treat their own minorities, in what direction are people voting with their feet?

Well per a Swimming World article his time in the 500 increased a considerable 16 seconds due to hormone therapy. Agree on the rest.

Following hormone therapy, her 2021 times are far slower but still fast enough to be championship quality.
The latter doesn’t follow the former as much, IMHO, that Thomas has slacked off because there is little pressure for him to train as diligently. After crushing one of the races he was caught bragging “That was so easy, I was cruising”.
When inevitably a few more talented and motivated people with penises decide that they too fancy the easier pickings in woman’s swimming Thomas (or Thompson) will return to richly deserved obscurity minus any sense of self-respect he might once have possessed.

Back to Swarthmore: I have been one of the few white people at a black event and some other ethnic events. I did not expect them to “center” me or give me a veto over what music was to be played. And if college students DO center a minority by having a taco tuesday party, that is racism. There is no pleasing such people –better to tell them to FO.
Y’all are addressing this issue with logic and reason in the context of some normal person simply wanting fame and attention for being a “winner”. Like normal, mentally well men and/or women would. This person is significantly mentally ill. A man doesn’t give up being a man, even a low status man, and this guy’s men’s times indicate that he had significant dedication to the sport thus not quite as low status as one might otherwise think, just for the “glory” of winning a few races. Even barring his lack of dedication to what he supposedly wants by not cutting his manhood off. IMNSHO, that itself is a big indication that this is far more about his mental illness and thus a cry for help than any real gender dysphoria. And no one is helping him. Certainly not the idiot/lunatics in the mental health “profession”. This isn’t about putting trophies in a case. He’s begging someone to straighten his crazy ass out with some degree of reality.

I believe the cool kids refer to this as “privilege.” There is, of course, no contradiction implied by being marginalized and privileged at the same time, because contradiction is a concept from formal logic. No woke person would ever invoke formal logic, because it is a tool of the white supremacist patriarchy.

It is an axiom of the left that white people cannot be an affinity group, because white people do not have histories and cultures–or at least not legitimate ones–and therefore there is nothing for which white people can feel an affinity for. Whiteness only exists as a thing to be eradicated.
