Old Habits
Meanwhile, in criminal genius news:
A man has been charged with stealing his own barrister’s mobile phone during an appearance at Bexley Magistrates’ Court. Bobby Heath, 25, was appearing in court to plead guilty to charges of possession of cannabis and driving without insurance… He has been bailed to appear again at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on June 2 regarding the alleged theft of the mobile phone.

Something tells me he’ll be paying lots more visits to Bexley Magistrates’ Court.

Yes, I fear recidivism is in inverse proportion to brains. A theory borne out by almost every episode of the reality series Cops – a programme I strongly recommend. It’s a guilty pleasure.
What a loser.
You do have to wonder what the long-term plan was. And by long-term, I mean more than five minutes into the future.

David, David, David…you don’t understand. You need to live “in the moment”. Thinking about the future and what might happen, what may happen is simply heaping stress upon yourself. The present is the only thing you have control over right now. And even when you think about the percentage of what you can control right now, in the whole scheme of things, it’s not much. Ignore this moment you have, right now, and it will disappear never to be experienced again. The future is uncertain. Sure, his barrister might notice his phone missing but that’s in the future. Who knows what could happen in between the time the phone was stolen and it was noticed to be missing? Perhaps the barrister will think he accidentally dropped it down the toilet. Could happen. Why worry about it, though?
In the more “adventurous and colorful” urban areas in the US, the first thing anyone would ask is,
“Wait, all he stole was the phone?”
