Friday Ephemera
Interactive 360º light field display. Yes, it’s done with mirrors. (h/t, The Thin Man) // Things found in the folds of fat people’s skin. Cutlery, marijuana, uneaten sandwiches. // The personal blimp. I’m sorely tempted. // A gallery of vintage airships. // Airship rides. $495. // Ejaculation “a potential treatment for nasal congestion.” Or perhaps not. // Being offended on someone else’s behalf. (h/t, AMac) // “What are the Joker’s powers again?” // Marvel superheroes versus giant robot. // Ninja Terminator. // Vintage detective badges. // Underwater panoramas. // Galapagos sea life. Wait for the whale shark. (h/t, Coudal) // Collective animal nouns. A siege of herons, a parcel of hogs. // A visual history of video recorders. // A time-lapse tutorial. // Baconnaise. // Brokers with hands on their faces. // Broccoli mystery deepens. // And, via The Thin Man, it’s Mr Kim Jong-il.
“During the exam… a turkey sandwich fell from between his folds. The man said it was about a month old, which the smell confirmed.”
Eew.
He should’ve freshened it up with some Baconnaise. 🙂

So is this the Guild of Evil in action then?

It’s an early test flight. As you can see, we’re about to rain destruction on our enemies.

Nice juxtaposition of ‘Things found in the folds of fat people’s skin’ with ‘the personal blimp’… 😉
That 360 degree light field thing is brilliant. They missed a trick, though, by not getting Iain McDiarmid in to demonstrate the full power of this invention…

Mr E,
“They missed a trick, though, by not getting Iain McDiarmid in to demonstrate the full power of this invention…”
Indeed. And the technology only has evil applications:

Ah, that’s the baby. I assume it has air-to-air missiles and an atomic perturbation unit?

I met Iain McDiarmid in 1981 when I was working at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
McDiarmid was in a production of Ibsen’s Wild Duck – I asked him what he would be doing next and he replied – in the Emperors voice:
“Destroying the Jedi!”.
Awesome.

That was extraordinary. The guy deserves a beer. Two beers. And dancing girls.
David, It’s a fake, but well done.
