Because some things bear repeating, a few items from the archives:
No Black Lights Were Available.
New York Times contributor racially agonised by pedestrian crossing.
In light of which, Mr Kaufman’s claims of being “bombarded” with racism – daily, everywhere – become at least explicable, if not convincing.
The pedestrian crossing signal that so distresses Mr Kaufman – a rudimentary humanoid figure, made of white lights on a black background – can be seen here, from a safe distance. You may want to steady yourselves. It’s all very upsetting, at least for the exquisitely sensitive – people finer than ourselves, and who write for the New York Times.
Cross-dressing man, 27, enrols at school as fifteen-year-old girl.
And so, when local parents discover that a determined paedophile has once again been stalking children, and even trying to enrol in schools – supposedly as a girl, despite him being a 27-year-old man with facial hair – then none of those concerned parents must be allowed to know what the man in question looks like, or to know about his previous crimes – even though he’ll be loose again within days – and they must not be allowed to pass comment on his somewhat bizarre appearance.
Because that would be hateful, it seems. The very stuff of wickedness.
At the University of Colorado, brownness has magical properties.
Indeed, you are “erasing the values and culture of indigenous people,” and are bolstering “post-colonial discourses of White power and control over people of Colour via forcing the internalization of Western science knowledge.” Instead, all people of pallor must denounce themselves as oppressors, embrace “other ways of knowing” and “re-imagine what science education spaces can look like.”
Sadly, however, and despite the assertions above, the aboriginal alternatives to Maxwell’s equations and commutative algebra remain oddly unspecified.
In the comments, Karen M notes with amusement that science education is construed by Dr Matias as “forcing the internalization of Western science knowledge,” and adds, “This is called teaching. It’s why the students are there.”
Indeed. One might even suppose that internalising Western science knowledge might help students pass science exams and perhaps find science-related jobs. Say, in the West, where the students in question happen to live. Or in fact anywhere, given its global nature.
However, like so many of her peers, Dr Matias shuns the obvious in favour of contortion. And so, we’re told that “colour-blind” teaching – which is to say, treating students fairly, as individuals, rather than tribally, as racial mascots – is itself somehow “racist” and must be done away with. Apparently, we must have different rules for different groups, based on how brown they are.
Again, the basic conceit is that “urban students of colour” are incomprehensible creatures, akin to leprechauns, and not subject to normal proprieties; and that in order to impart even rudimentary information, one must first disavow one’s own values and standards, which other, paler students are nonetheless expected to meet. This, we’re assured, is “social justice.”
Purging racial trauma with bedtime hugging and intergenerational wrestling.
Because, you see, being pressured to declare yourself oppressed and racially traumatised, truthfully or not, while being chased into your bedroom and invited to wrestle, is an obvious path to both mental health and “social change.”
For those craving more, this is a pretty good place to start.

Can we just call them nutters?
Well, sifting through this stuff, these outpourings of progressive piety, does have a through-the-looking-glass quality. There’s a sense that the world in which they thrive is not constrained by such humdrum things as logic, common sense, or observable reality.
As with Dr Matias and her Magic Brown Science, you have to wonder how it can be that she and her peers aren’t being laughed out of the classroom as the ridiculous, pernicious beings they are. So-called educators whose primary activity – and greatest enthusiasm – entails condescension, blatant racism, and educational sabotage.
I won’t share a link because it is a short editorial piece and gift links come with the mandate for an email address – I enjoyed this piece from today’s Wall Street Journal by a Mike Kerrigan, an attorney from Charlotte, NC. An efficient way to find your people:
There’s definitely something to be said for pre-emptively deterring those seemingly random political blurtings. Not sure I could carry off a comedy sweater, though.
Or indeed a sweater. Not big on knitwear.
Band name.
Let us all dedicate ourselves to eliminating leftism from the world.
Just lie back and think of cultural enrichment.

As I’ve said before, a civilised society that wishes to remain civilised should not have a Muhammadan population of any social or political significance. To have one entails costs that are much, much higher than any benefit.
Once you get to the stage of bewilderingly monstrous videos like the one above, of which there is no shortage, and Diversity Bollards in shopping precincts, and all the rest of it, you’ve already made a terrible mistake.
[ Points to UK and pretty much all of Europe. ]
My taste in fashion mostly runs to Hawaiian shirts and corded pants,* but I put the Westerley on my wish list because I love the movie, and I love the coded signal it sends.
It reminds me of an incident in a Nero Wolfe story in which Archie Goodwin encounters a dude (lower case D) from the west. They didn’t like each other at first, but the guy noticed that Archie dressed pretty sharp and he ended up teaching the guy about fabrics and where to buy a stylish fedora.
* There should be an album called “Fashion Crimes” of which “Not Into Knits” would be the lead single.
Perhaps a haori might be more to your taste.
Nationalize Starlink and SpaceX? Better to nationalize all leftists.
I’m sitting here in a Nehru jacket, stroking a cat.
These things she believes.
[ Sends prosthetic hands away to be polished. ]
Speaking of, the esteemed Dr. Faushay introduces us to her very oppressed disabled daughter.
I trust the cat is the same color as your jacket. White cat hairs on a black jacket would be so déclassé, unbecoming of a truly happening supervillain.
The cat is colour-co-ordinated, obviously. And sealed in Lucite.
Allergies.
Tinker Bell lives another day.
It’s not a position based on reasoning or enquiry, or trying figure out how the world is. It’s just an emotional stance and therefore all but impervious. It’s hard to get through a person’s motivation.
Let us see the happenings in Wales. OK, another existential worry sorted, I guess.
I’m assuming all the potholes have been fixed, then.
Also, what does a green glow tell me about dwarfism? It seems to raise more questions than it answers.
Also, what does a green glow tell me about dwarfism?
It’s a bit leprechaun-adjacent for sure. Isn’t that stereotyping or some sort of -ism? They might want to rethink their virtue signal.
I think I’ve found the person who’s to blame for the mess we’re in.
(from a 1999 documentary about Englishness.)
But… but she’s being so nice.
She naively assumes that everyone else is, too. The fatal mistake.
[ Recalls all those naive sf novels of my childhood that assumed everyone around the world is pretty much the same and we can all “just get along”. No incompatible cultures. No cultures of tribalism and criminality. No imperialistic murderous religions. We’re all going to become variations on mid-century Western liberalism. ]
Thanks for the laughs, barkeep. Tip jar pinged.
Bless you, sir. Should you be taking out the trash and on the way back stop to check the mailbox, may you not find said mailbox stuffed with sufficient junk mail to all but fill the bin you’ve just emptied.

The sick fantasies of leftism. This is who they are. This is how they think.
is satire.
No, say it ain’t so, unbelievable, you have to be kidding, absolutely gobsmacked that Literaleigh could be a made up person.
You can’t reason someone out of a position they weren’t reasoned into in the first place. Which is why we have helicopters.
We’ve mentioned before how you can find yourself having a conversation with someone, about a subject they brought up, only to discover you’re having the conversation for quite different reasons. And so, you can find yourself in a game you didn’t know you were playing.
Sometimes, occasionally, when putting together these Reheated posts, I have a moment of self-satisfaction. Sort of, “Oh yeah, some of the stuff here is quite good.”
I realise there’s no socially acceptable way of acknowledging this kind of thing, but hey. We’ve come this far.
Well, damn.
Walter Koenig dies at 90.
“So, this is goodbye.”
Yes. It was quite obvious from your comment that you knew that. No reason to get upset.
Minneapolis restaurant with no prices will close after years of “trying to prove” that socialism works
The only thing funnier than their inevitable failure are the donations they got from fools around the world.
What did Key & Peele mean by that? Released in 2022 btw. Odd that no one noticed.
This, OTOH…
Via Ace.
In europe the islamists and communists are allies. But in Iran they were allies until the revolution succeeded in 1979, and then the mullas arrested and killed thousands of communists. Of course lefties never read history…
Six years? That’s actually pretty good.
Also, I’m not sure I understand how the restaurant is socialist. Shouldn’t it be owned by the state?
“To each according to their needs; from each according to their ability.”
But the clientele weren’t required to show proof of poverty. No one had to reveal their net worth to determine the price they had to pay.
I’m confused. If they’re trying to prove that socialism works, it can’t just be one restaurant. It has to be the whole supply chain, the whole regulatory apparatus, the whole currency and wage structure, the whole legal system.
It needs to succeed in Venezuela or Cuba or North Korea. Minnesota might be close but still no cigar.
So to speak.
Angry man is angry.
Why would I want to be an ‘ally to the trans community’?
Well, indeed. He’s not, I fear, making a compelling case. Or eliciting anything approaching sympathy.
He’s just a man with mood-control issues who casually tells lies about others and himself, and who evidently likes to scold his imagined audience for daring to have priorities of their own, even down to what kind of Hallowe’en costume he thinks they should be allowed to wear.
The lippy doesn’t hide his fundamental obnoxiousness.
So, in that sense, he has made himself “abundantly fucking clear.” Though he doesn’t seem to realise exactly what has been revealed.
To some extent, I think he and other maladjusted bullies exploit the assumption that you should want to be, and want to be seen to be, friends with everyone. In solidarity with everything. At least everything fashionable. As if that could be possible. Which is rather silly.
I think we’ll give that one a post of its own.
Comments that-a-way.
