People Not Actually Being Stabbed Most Affected
And in always-respect-the-media news, we turn to the Crime pages of the Chicago Tribune:
Isa Noyola, transgender activist and Director of the Border Butterfly Project, pointed to the wider political climate and lack of violence prevention resources as an overarching reason the situation happened in the first place.
The situation, since you ask, was one in which Mr Kelly Day, a cross-dressing man, aged 32, stabbed to death a fifty-year-old stranger named Larry Young. Such was the vigour of the attack, Mr Young was stabbed no fewer than thirteen times – in the head, neck and shoulder – with the tip of the knife breaking off and remaining embedded in his skull.
Mr Young, the party being stabbed to death, was, one might conclude, rather more directly affected by the incident than some notional trans community.
Mr Young had apparently made some needless and unflattering comment about Mr Day’s non-female status, following which Mr Day became “extremely angry” and a quarrel ensued. Mr Young then pushed Mr Day “before walking away toward a nearby gas station across the street.”
Just to be sure, one assumes.
A suboptimal interaction, certainly, with no parties emerging as entirely fragrant. However, to frame the altercation as an illustration of “how quickly violence can affect the trans community” does seem rather bold. One might say misleading.
Following his fit of indignant stabbiness, Mr Day discarded the knife and fled the scene, before being arrested at Jackson Park Hospital, where he was requesting treatment for a cut on his finger, sustained during his attack of Mr Young, and which he claimed was the result of a cooking mishap.
Predictably, the Chicago Tribune refers to Mr Day, a man, as a woman, using the terms she and her, thereby adding to the confusion.

Resources to stop crazy trannies stabbing people to death?
British understatement.
I was curious enough to look up Isa Noyola and found they had an entire Wikipedia page.
That’s a long way of saying “insufferable.”
I am confused about the use as a single word of “translatina.” I think it should be two: “trans latina,” that is to say, a Latino who is trans. A translatina implies someone who transitioned to identifying as a Latina when, in reality, they aren’t – say, a Hmong person with a strong affectation for birria.
We’re in the realm of magic words, that’s for sure.
I’m still wondering when the media is going to realise that misreporting basic facts – say, the sex of criminals – isn’t exactly enhancing whatever credibility they still have.
As when the Vancouver Police Department, the Vancouver Sun and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation insisted on referring to Nathaniel Francis Beekmeyer, a shirtless bedlamite who attacked a random woman and her four-month-old baby, as being somehow female:
I mean, reporting of this kind doesn’t strike me as likely to engender trust or inspire warm feelings. Not least from the victims.
If I had stabbed to death every black who insulted me in racial terms, I would be serving hundreds of life sentences. Add those who said racist things within my hearing and it would be at least a thousand.
That has indeed been done, albeit satirically.
This came to mind:
Lest anyone assume I’m short of examples on the whole cross-dressing-men-stabbing-people front.
Not sure if that’s a band name or a literary pseudonym.
Good guns aren’t cheap

Semi-autobiographical essay title perhaps?
For my series of erotic historical novels.
His Aching Loins by Hotpants Notwithstanding.
I refer you to news reports of rapists or muggers that one should be on the lookout for, to avoid, in which the race and description of the perp are elided, making the avoidance of said perp rather…difficult. In the case at hand, one starts to get the impression that women going around attacking people are much more common than they are because the media keep reporting bedlamites as women.
“resources”–I’m trying to image any resources having any effect in this case, since such crazies are famous for not taking meds, not being medically compliant, not going for therapy, insisting they are fine, etc. Even most therapists would not try to “cure” a tranny anyway. Just like claiming “resources” would be beneficial for gang violence. Sure, tell me another one.
After a few go ’rounds with Grok, I got a rather lengthy (many paragraphs) stream of information regarding the murder of Jonathan McKinsey, the trans guy murdered by his Chinese inlaws. It contains the information in a more logical and reasonably relevant order. The educational background, the timing of the events from the lesbian marriage, when he transitioned, who supposedly carried the children (that info still somewhat vague), and both career paths. It is bizarre. These were highly educated people yet the relationship, putting aside the lesbian/trans stuff, reads a bit like a hillbilly/ghetto family. These people earned degrees from Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon in engineering, including assistant teaching positions. They worked at JPL, Oracle, Coursera, Kronos Group, etc. Yet virtually every major relationship decision is just…clearly…stupid. I’m guessing that these smart people weren’t just this stupid on their own. They had plenty of help from other smart people, including one referenced relationship counselor. Stunningly stupid.
So close. The band name would be Fuchsia Hotpants. First album Notwithstanding. Maybe.
[ Resists urge to insert paragraph break. ]
Just another brick in the wall.
The thing I try to bear in mind is that about 30% of this site’s readers are browsing on a phone. So paragraphs of more than, say, five or six lines as they appear on a typical laptop browser can render as a daunting barrage of text on a smaller device.
Shorter paragraphs tend to be more legible on phones, and are therefore more likely to be read and replied to.
Hey, I’m just thinking of my patrons and their needs.
[ Does caring face. ]
Oh, by all means. No objection here.
Meanwhile, how everything started.
Caring, caring, caring…
Forget the trans thing for a moment, the grandparents’ daughter married a lesbian – something traditional Chinese families generally aren’t too happy with – who appears to have been repeatedly violent (a lesbian relationship rife with domestic violence?? I shannot). The grandparents planned and executed a mob-style slaying, which is not a typical response to family drama.
It sounds to me like the wife and her family were pretty f*cked up long before Dawn Finney (mort Jonathan McKinsey) came along.
I mean, more beat cops would probably help with that.
Hold fast to your wallet.
For reference purposes.
YOU KNOW I CAN HEAR YOU, RIGHT?
[ Softens lighting, does caring face again. ]
It really does seem like the “trans community”‘s entire rationale for the actions and behaviour of their members can be summarized as “look what you made us do“.
That’s something most children outgrow by about age 4. But if they insist on acting like toddlers, they should be treated as such.
Very demure, very mindful.
Was that out loud?
Slightly less wooden acting than the original
So far as I can see, it’s in no way worse than actual 1970s Doctor Who.
…..
No argument here. That’s part of what had me confused/suspicious about what the details actually were. Like Context took a look at that mess and snuck out the back door..
The AI left the TARDIS door open.
It also seemed briefly confused about whether the scene was being shot during the day or night. And Jon Pertwee did at times resemble Margaret Rutherford.
I’m now picturing Margaret Rutherford as The Doctor.
Patricia Routledge. You know you’d watch that.
I’m now trying to decide whether the premise is more entertaining with Hyacinth as the Doctor and Richard as the long-suffering companion, or Richard as the stoic Doctor and Hyacinth as the constantly hectoring companion.
“Doctor! Mind the Dalek!”
“He’s outside the TARDIS, Hyacinth.”
They’re demanding that funds be sent to a non-profit that ostensibly fights violence but that really lines pockets.
Ok, that was a legit scream.
The wooden acting video was removed.
As you’ve probably guessed, it was a 20-minute AI-generated episode of early 70s Doctor Who. Remarkably like the real thing, for better or worse.
Multiple prior attacks, and yet was never put away.
“In 2026, a doctor said Blanco was not a risk to the community, per the outlet.”
Find the doctor, sue him ’til his pips squeak.
The Atlantic Magazine: nihilistic except when it is outright on the other side.
Publicize his name and face.
More fun: Force him to live in the most dangerous neighborhood you can find. Spread the word that he hates all the ethnic/racial groups most likely to violently object.
“Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live.” Nothing more than probation is insanely irresponsible.
@dicentra: Fake but funny. Would be hilarious if true.
Exactly this. Notice he says his kid is in a Christian school.
Not an unfair assessment.
Mr Friedersdorf does seem determined to perform any mental contortion in favour of massive and transformative immigration. As if there could be no downsides, nothing to lament. At one point in the thread he claims that fears of losing social cohesion are misplaced, that this loss of common assumptions simply isn’t happening.
And his readiness to dismiss natives’ concerns regarding cultural or racial erasure seems very much based on the complainant’s skin colour, as numerous replies point out.
