The inimitable Jeremy Brett.
But everyone should own the DVD’s anyway.
A plethora of parties.
The People’s Front of Judea, The Judean People’s Front, The Judean People’s Popular Front, The Campaign for a Free Galilee, The Popular Front of Judea , and the People’s Liberation Front of Judea.

Screenshot #2, because such silliness needs to be preserved:
Screenshot #3, which must have an In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida soundtrack:
Someone commented: It could be worse: It’s Israel. There are about 7.2 million Jews there. There could be 7.2 million + 1 political parties to choose from.
It needs a team of sheriff’s deputies wearing mirrored sunglasses while saying “What we have here is a failure to assimilate”.

Not to be confused with pasties.

‘[P]assionate about authenticity.’
I see what you did there.
I remember seeing this very photo in a prehistoric history book as a child, and it blew my mind
Laughed, not sorry.
Morning, all.
Every sentence is an inversion of reality. Which is quite the feat, I suppose.
[ Hangs enormous picture on wall. ]
There we go.
Why the long face?
[ Pokes about in ashtray. ]
[ Hands used, slightly discoloured sticking plaster to Steve. ]
I think he may need just a touch more foundation.
And in exotic travel news:
I think today’s word should be authenticity.
Oppressed by Christmas decorations.
The new frontier of victimhood.
This came to mind.
Not really the place for a sassy attitude, madam.
Via Julia.
Proof that birds are just dinosaurs, waiting to rule again.
It’s the biggest one of those I’ve ever seen.
And yes, since you ask, this is my innocent face.
*cancels dentist appointment*
This is the least we can do for them in gratitude for what they’ve done for us since joining us by the campfire millennia ago.
Sadly had a “Back in, drive off” incident at least eight years ago. My wife and I drove to a local landscaping store and parked our car in the store lot. Walking in I noticed a white car parked across from us with a VERY elderly man sitting in the driver’s seat. As in, elderly enough to need an oxygen tank and mask. I shook my head and walked towards the store. Just before I opened the store door I heard a metallic crumpling like a car rolling over an empty soda can but didn’t think anything of it. We finished shopping and drove home and began unloading our car and there it was: A big dent in the rear quarter panel surrounded by white paint scratches. The sound I heard was the old duffer hitting our car reversing out of his space and driving off. We traded the car in with the dent.
A couple of years ago, I saw that the car in front of us was being driven down the road needlessly close to parked cars. Just a few inches away from them, despite there being plenty of room to drive normally. Inevitably, the driver clipped the side mirror of a parked car, smashing it quite loudly, but continued on her way as if nothing untoward had happened.
So either she was deaf and somehow insensible to vibration, or she was just a cow.
Place your bets.
Assorted bats.
Well, *I* was amused.
One could have fun constructing a list of likely political parties if America had a parliamentary system.
Only if it contains thorazine.
I don’t. Some “communities” need institutionalization or deportation.
Some people have a very poor spatial sense and need extensive coaching before they learn to drive in the center of the lane.
Old and Busted: Cocaine Bear.
New Hotness: Landmine Bear.
And spatial acuity is very much sexed. Especially regarding large-scale acuity – say, driving cars or manoeuvring bulky objects up a flight of stairs. Hence the jokes, I suppose.
Band name.
Spawned by a misguided attempt to curb campaign corruption by giving/lending government money to any party that registers… for a while there was a semi-serious Party for the Rights of Men in Marriage.
BTW Israel is one of the few places that does not have electoral districts, you just vote for a national party slate. Instead of reforming the system as they should to eliminate splinter parties, they added a requirement that you must get enough votes to (proportionally) earn 4 seats in the cabinet… so in its decades-long quest to unseat Netanyahu, the Left constantly recruits generals or other “moderates” to lead “centrist” bubble parties that “fail” but succeed in wasting conservative votes.
Part of what happened this time is that soldiers and others affected by the war were attracted to some of these parties, which siphoned off votes/seats from the larger blocs.
More decoration oppression.
Diversity!™
Points for consistency, I guess.
Mentally unstable man is mentally unstable.
What was your first clue?
With that in mind, on behalf of the US&A I would like to apologize to the land of half my ancestors, but somehow I don’t believe the claims.
I’ve known people who think America should do that–ban private money and have government fund campaigns. Needless to say, they were all on the left and many were far-left.
Thanks for the explication.
Women and power tools: my wife had her house dress (cotton, lightweight) get pulled into (just 2 inches of it) the intake of the leaf blower. I could not get it out. Dress and blower were total loss.
And once again this place is educational.
[ Ups price of drinks. ]
My father worked all his life for an electrical/electronics manufacturer. Many of the machine operators were women, and sometimes they would come to work dressed for an evening out afterwards. They managed to avoid damaging and dirtying their clothing, which perhaps put them in the right half of the power tool bell curve.
How are more people not voting for “The Pirates?”
I’d favor the Monster Raving Loony Party.
