I’m confused.
It appears that many Westerners, especially leftists, don’t understand the social conditions in dysfunctional countries, especially not at the individual level. They’ve been tourists or they’ve visited their fancy friends, but they don’t know what it looks like at street level when a society doesn’t bother to socialize its males.
All this stuff they’re putting on the posters? That’s what men do by default when their society [read: other adult men] doesn’t smack them upside the head for being uncivilized and immature and undisciplined.
Maybe Judeo-Christian sexual ethics do good things for a society?

Academia’s Clown Quarter has for decades been actively selecting for dishonest, spiteful, deeply obnoxious people. People prepared to mouth lies and gibberish in order to maintain status. People of no probity. In a list of first-world pathological environments, it would have to be somewhere near the top.
A poke through anything here tagged academia will reveal no end of examples.
I mean, you could take almost any of the examples in the archive – and after two decades, there are hundreds – and conclude that the featured people, these credentialled and statusful beings, are actually ill-suited to the task of thinking. At least thinking of a realistic, internally consistent kind.
That the objections one might raise regarding their assumptions and assertions are often glaringly obvious – difficult to miss – does not diminish that impression.

I fear that such infiltration and takeover by bad people (in any institution) is as inevitable as a reservoir getting silted in — it’s just going to happen over time. Even if you know what’s happening, what’s there to do?
