This rickety barge is kept afloat by the tip-jar buttons below.

The sound of computers screaming, as the meme goes.
Seems petty.
[ Directs highly suspicious stare at aelf. ]
Her scream, just like a disappointed little girl, is the cherry on the sundae of her folly.
Red Cross deletes video after their mascot murders a woman.
I didn’t write that suggestive tag.
Unsuccessful product, 1982.
My first thought was they’d marketed a novelty “toy” like you could find at Spencer’s Gifts at the mall back in the 90’s. Then I remembered E.T. had those glowy fingers…
[hangs head in shame]
…meanwhile, in the woods.
You’d better not go alone.
Although – that’s not nearly as terrifying as the giant Australian sky whale with the hundred saggy boobs.
Vibrant cultural enrichment in Ghent
At 14? Hell, I read the Hobbit when I was 10. Ditto LotR.
Phew! At least the jack is okay.
Very Lost in Space.
“Danger, David Thompson! Danger!”
Late bloomer?
That pete_churchill character seems to think tales for children can’t be more complex than ‘See Spot run’. Heaven knows how he’d react to Just So Stories.
How were they planning to climb up?
Well, you see, they just raise the nose landing gear…
Morning, all.
Cute as a button.
Laughed, not sorry:
Footnote of note:
Our betters, you know.
Veruca Salt: Hey, Daddy, I want a baby water buffalo! I want you to get me a baby water buffalo right away! I want a baby water buffalo now!
The photo.
It does rather tell a story.
It’s the predictability of it all. The same wearying trajectory. The preening, the arrogance, the invocation of intellectual status – as if that, having the badges, were the last word. All while hastily disdaining anything deemed “right wing,” and while being determined not to allow anyone to actually answer her own question. Which rather suggests the question wasn’t asked in good faith.
San Francisco State University, since you ask.
She thinks ‘The Atlantic’ is right wing? Holy crap.
For readers unfamiliar with the publication, a few samples of its contents:
When women who are slightly black are oppressed by not being allowed to blast out loud hip-hop in the library, where people are trying to study for exams.
When women are oppressed by crumbs.
When women, especially black women, are oppressed by crossword puzzles.
When black women who thieve habitually are the real victims.
I could go on, but we’d be here all day.
And hey, in academia, all things are possible.
I suppose it’s worth taking a moment to imagine being taught by this woman, this credentialled being. Someone whose every other assertion would have to be checked against reality. Often with comical results.
“I’m a tits-and-ass man,” says lesbian with chest scars.
Literally shaking.
Heh.
(h/t James Freeman in the WSJ)
Sure, I see that guy pushing his way through until he gets blocked at the end, but . . . who the hell is filming him, who can speed away like that?
Perfectly normal behavior. Not disorderly conduct and hate speech like Shiloh Hendrix.
[ Titivates store-bought pizza. ]
Cook, cook, cook, cook, cook.
It’s the ABBA effect. You just can’t help but preen.
Oh, you’d never tire of that.
If I catch anyone clutching a hairbrush and miming to late Seventies pop ditties, I’m upping the price of the drinks.
I know it looks funny, but I can see some serious advantages to that suit: wide field of view, minimal custom fitting. Most of the suit made from extremely durable material not subject to rips or tears. Modular, easily-replaceable arms and legs. You can scratch your nose.
Early printings of the 1965 Ballantine Books editions. That is when I found out about Tolkien. I still have those copies, in fact, badly worn though they are.
There was back then a great deal of creative thinking and research going on regarding how best to design space suits. Lots of those ideas got into the popular press. IIRC, Jerry Pournelle was involved in some of the research, and it would have been interesting to listen to him for an hour about all the ideas that were explored, their postulated advantages and disadvantages.
Stanage Edge, not too far from here.
Demanding lot.
As Nathan Cofnas said recently, “Mental illness expands to fill the space in which it is tolerated.”
Leftist morality.
Can you say ‘lemon party‘?
When the next mega-quake hits, all those West coast leftists will be deeply thankful that they spent billions on fake woke garbage.
Guy on a motorcycle.
True enough.
“High impact”, much like being hit with a marshmallow.
It;s like Halloween every day!
Nevermind the Bollards…nevermind.
No thanks, I’ll be refueling the helicopters.
Meanwhile, not your everyday criminal act.
The One Man Army!
Above from here for you comic book fans out there.
But with a much higher likelihood of child molestation.
Become a helicopter mechanic and do your part!

@David did you just change some of the fonts on the top and sidebars, or is Brave or my network connection messing up again?
Not complaining – just jarred a bit.
