Inevitably, she struggles with the question of where to put rapists and murderers, etc. Eventually, after much mumbling, we learn that she will – in ways never specified – “create systems” in which murder is impossible.

For some reason, what jumped out was the reference to Sure for Women deodorant.
No, it’s mostly based in people not wanting to be murdered or raped. It’s not hard to work out.
The thought process, such as it is, is quite surreal. For instance, the implication that because some people who do bad things manage to avoid incarceration, we should therefore do away with incarceration for other people who do bad things. “It doesn’t make any sense,” says she.
Or, ‘Why punish bad people when some bad people go unpunished?’
That the made-up example given is of a millionaire dog murderer – yes, a millionaire dog murderer – only compounds the contradictions. In that it suggests, contrary to her own assumptions, that material circumstances are not in fact the determinant of whether or not a person commits violent crimes. It undermines her whole schtick.
The imperviousness to internal contradictions is quite extraordinary.
It’s the mentality of a not-very-bright child. And she’s running for congress.

What a shocking argument. It manages to disadvantage Britain by putting stress on its society deliberately, knowing it is stress, while at the same time yearning for euthanasia of the old.

I first tried haggis, with some reluctance, at a swanky do a few years ago. I have to say, made well, it tastes much better than it sounds. I find the general idea of offal repellent, and will tip over the table and start a fire to avoid liver or kidney. But haggis… wasn’t bad at all.
I’ve tried the Americanised version. Certainly not terrible but a bit liverish for my taste.
In regards to “preferring” and in the spirit of Hands Across The Pond™ please be aware that, like “fanny”, words don’t always mean the same on both sides.
Regarding chaudin, at least the innards aren’t made of whatever fell on the butcher’s floor.
The restaurant we visited was having a Burns Night event and wheeled out a chef of, I gather, some repute – and whose name I immediately forgot. Which possibly tells you how often I go out for fancy meals. But his handiwork was very good. The haggis was spicy, peppery, slightly sweet, and surprisingly delicate. Not at all what I expected. Without forewarning, you wouldn’t have known there was anything controversial in it.
Maybe that was his spin on the dish. I couldn’t say.

Immigrants: just wanted to note that China or India or Africa could let us have 200 million of their poorest poor and would hardly miss them. It would be catastrophic. Open borders within a country vs between countries are NOT THE SAME.
100 yrs ago, there were roughly 20% christians in Turkey, Tunisia, and Lebanon. Now there are almost none. 50 yrs ago there were 2 million Jews in Iran, now almost none. Some of this especially in Turkey was genocide the rest was making life so awful that christians/Jews fled. You do NOT want Moslems to become a majority in your country. Certainly not in the name of being “nice”.
I think that’s where Scooby-Doo’s ancestors were from.
