Not unfair, at all. On almost every front, from migration, crime, the Middle East, and the most basic of biological realities, the BBC simply cannot be trusted. The rot is down to the bone. And of those defending the organisation, few seem willing to acknowledge the surrealism of being told, emphatically and repeatedly, that newborn babies will thrive on the secretions of mentally ill men.
For instance.
Once you’ve doubled-down on absurdity, on perversity, things patently untrue, and once you’ve made it clear to employees and viewers that corrections are unlikely to be welcome, as the BBC has done, many times, then there’s no coming back.Â
Brands, reputations, can be destroyed. Especially by people who think themselves entitled and impervious.
Also this:
I recall the time, some years ago, when the BBC gave Laurie Penny an hour to “debate”… herself.
From the archives and very much related:
And yet they dare to wonder why.
Perhaps I am naive… but even after browsing that blog I cannot decide if it’s parody or a real builder collecting horror stories…
Connor Tomlinson has thoughts on what a country is.
Been watching a Daily Mirror hack interviewed on Good Morning Britain defending the BBC’s lying like it didn’t matter and then lying himself. The f*cking arrogance of these people.
And it’s easy to be wrong-footed by the shamelessness. By people for whom dishonesty is both an instinct and a practised skill. This is, I think, at the heart of the problem. It’s not just a matter of corrupted, dishonest institutions. It’s the personalities attracted to such environments. The kinds of people most likely to flourish there.
Again, see the post quoted at length above.
A reminder that some people are determined to make things much worse.
But not wrong. God bless him for speaking up. The guy is 79 years old. What are they going to do to him? I see 2A people…supposedly “conservatives”…shaming him for saying that. It’s a loser mentality.

Act III
I can’t begin to tell you how damn proud I am of that bear. Here in the Smokies, our bears are exceptional.
[ Checks lawn for bears. ]
We have so many of these “fun” relationships, and so many other social problems, because of the stupid everyone-must-go-to-college BS. When people are young and would naturally, naturally meaning hundreds of thousands of years of social evolution, form strong emotional bonds they are forced, even instructed, to not take relationships seriously. A 16, 17 yo who is reasonably intelligent knows that they are going to go separate ways from whomever they are naturally attracted to. Then they get to college and it’s effectively the same BS, with the exception of girls/women working on their MRS degree. Which itself must be kept on the QT thanks to the feminists. This is especially hard on the women because 16-22…now more like 25…are their most fertile years. Spending an entire decade in denial does not build healthy relationships.
Meanwhile in Sherwood Forest…
Elsewhere, in Canada they are building a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude – what could possibly go wrong?
We occasionally have one in our neighborhood. I’m pretty sure I smelled him again on our walk the other morning. More often smell him/her than see. I have carried my .38 a couple of times, for whatever good that will do me. Give them some space and they generally will move on. Black bears anyway.

Looks like the image-eater is back at it.
Theodore Dalrymple reflected upon this:
Speak for yourself.
Indeed.
So much for the utopia promised by “sexual liberation”.
Shorter: How can you conserve that which you have no attachment to?
Here in the Smokies, our bears are exceptional.
And now I know who built that deck
She ain’t right.
The Fighting Form 0265-82Es!
On which, more tomorrow.
Once revealed, a habitual liar cannot and should not be believed.
The BBC, being so deeply corrupted, cannot be reformed–or not without replacing all its staff.
Some people see their fellow citizens as nothing more than economic units. In other words, not as people but as things. And that is the blackest sin.
I’m sure there are individual BBC employees who are conscientious and not captured by ideology, but the overriding issue remains. The institution that employs them has lost the trust and credibility on which its role is premised. As an institution, it now seems largely hostile to, and contemptuous of, the values of much of the electorate. The people coerced to fund it.
And if some of those conscientious employees don’t understand the reasons for the antipathy felt by many towards their employer – if it’s totally outside of their assumptions and social milieu – that doesn’t exactly speak in their favour.
Appeals to patriotism won’t motivate the typical government worker, but offering the opportunity to kill 50 maybe 60 peaceful conservatives will.
Give it up by the third date? How about the first?
I refused because I wasn’t comfortable with that, but I was no Boy Scout (well, I was, but not a good one). I waited until the second. And we’ve been married for several decades.
I still think about that redhead back when I was drinking in the Baltimore bars. She and her boyfriend were regulars at the tavern, part of a group of friends I wormed my way into. Nice girl. Been with her boyfriend for years, and by the time I left town, they were planning on buying a house together. I still wonder what happened to her.
Dating: one problem with current dating is that sex causes a strong bond with almost anyone you have sex with. So now, on date 3, you are strongly bonded to someone who may be immature, a druggie, a criminal, non serious, unemployed, crazy, lazy or from an incompatible culture. Same with moving in with someone. What if his goal in life is to work as little as possible or her goal is to be taken care of and never do chores? What if you do not agree about having kids? You are now stuck with a jerk or lunatic. Not ideal.
What was that famous quote about how we are painfully rediscovering the reasons for traditions, traditions which conservatives had difficulty defending in the sixties because the reasons for those traditions had been forgotten?
I thought it was Chesterton, but all i can find is something about the democracy of the dead.
In the last few years, I’ve come to see how much of the Bible applies to today. The cities of the plain, original sin, even the Chosen People’s inability to keep it in their pants for the 48 hours Moses was away getting the 10 Suggestions the first time.
And demonic possession. Especially the existence of demonic possession.
There’s the famous Chesterton’s Fence:
But that’s not the quote I was thinking of.
There are forms of insanity that resemble that. And then there are the increasingly deranged ideologies of the left: “The chittering of ideologically possessed demons” as Jordan Peterson puts it.
AKA the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation.
Yes. Pity our churches have forgotten these things as well. I was never a very devout person but every time I get a little concerned and I return to church I find they’ve all gone further downhill. The few that on the surface appear to be holding on, especially the more fundamentalist ones of which I was never a fan, I find out that the pastors or deacons or other prominent members have problems keeping their own…members..under control. IYKWIMAITTYD. Given the last couple of popes (was never Catholic but my wife is and I have tried about everything else so WTLH…) have turned out to be worthless, I am starting to suspect even God isn’t a serious person…Entity…whatever.
Recent events, such as the trans cult and the homeless industry, show that the left really wants us all to be insane.
Holy f***, I just watched the whole interview of Shapiro on Triggernomtry and this
Is a complete mischaracterization of what Ben was talking about. I had to stop listening shortly after that because I want to slap the face of that sanctimonious twit. Who is he, anyway?
So, wool futures?
Heh. That was precisely, to the word, as far as I got. I was starting to feel the testosterone fleeing my body like that monster in the Alien movie.
Just curious, what episode are you referring to? Moses was up on Mount Sinai for 40 days or 960 hours, and the people’s problem wasn’t “keeping it in their pants” but making and worshipping a golden calf. Are you perhaps thinking of some other event?
