Friday Ephemera (795)
It did not go entirely to plan. || Totally normal. || Itsy-bitsy. || Mrs Critchfield has a backyard business, 1953. || On the Batman effect. || Today’s words are body language. || Boasting of overcharging people based on their race. || Boob correction and other minor fixes. || Or maybe you could use a good moisturiser. || The more, the merrier. || The woman who moved her house 100 miles, 1975. || If size impresses you. (h/t, Elephants Gerald) || Chunky snow. || Incoming. || She has a racist chair. || On stealing $20, at knifepoint. || On deportations and legal creep. || A lively discussion regarding pizza – and $1. || The unspanked at large. || Puzzled look. || Coping. || Safety first. || Four Guineas a week and free hot water. || And finally, it’s waterproof, super-handy, and the edges are adhesive.

[ Return from supermarket, laden with necessaries. ]
There was a pre-Christmas tingle in the air. Lots of wrapping paper and booze being bought. I saw a little old lady looking suspiciously festive.
She was humming.
You can recover those deducted points by running here from Greece.
[ Calms nerves by blasting invading entities. ]
Hey, I’m kicking ass.
My mother-in-law had towels with that exact pattern. And in a suspicious shade of Israeli-flag blue. She of course had no idea and neither did anyone else in the family. If they hadn’t been in a specific location in a bathroom with limited reading material, I doubt that I would have noticed it either. Once seen tho…The color/shade was so close I couldn’t help but suspect someone was taking the piss or whatever. Pretty sure she got them at Ross or Tuesday Morning or one of those similar stores that sell surplus type stuff.
[ Checks furnishings and towels for hidden messages. ]
Now that is a capital idea!
Fluff removal.
Oh, and
album name. Early 80’s punk cover tunes.
“the system is set up to benefit males specifically”: Right. 60% of college students are female. Courts favor women in divorce and custody. Single urban young women make more than similar males. Women work lifetime fewer hours than men (about 65% of the male number), retire earlier, live longer. Just totally a patriarchy.
Socks? the poster noticed the socks? hahahah
I remember someone saying that the cops are there not to protect the citizens so much as to protect the criminal from citizens.
Explosives and decapitations reserved for Rovers.
Heh. Hold my beer…
from the link:
The proper way to “calm the situation” is with volley fire.
You cannot “appeal to their better natures” because they have none.
Saw that somewhere but in lesser context. Maybe on insty? Someone “conservative” was suggesting that the homeowner with the baseball bat was wrong to confront the crowd. In that shorter context I was kinda not agreeing but kinda understood. Seeing this larger context, and considering the
I am more…no. F*** no. Given that degree of a threat to homes and neighborhoods that guy had every right and I might say every responsibility to his family and neighbors (and where were the rest of the neighbors?) to confront this crowd with whatever means available when they approach his property*. These neighbors who “exercised restraint”, many of them are the problem. The neighborhood needs to be much more aggressive should this sort of shit ever come close to happening again. I did not get a take on exactly where this was, just a city/suburb name that I did not recognize. This homeowner and his wife reminded me very much of the Arkansas lawyer and wife during the Floyd BS who were put in a similar position but were armed. They got into considerable legal trouble but they did the right thing.
*And a big F*** Y** to our worthless police departments who do not stand up for their citizens. Every police department in this country should be forced to address what happened here and tell their citizens, right now before this sort of shit gets any more traction, exactly how they will respond to similar situations should they occur in their jurisdiction.
Added: I see now this appears to have happened in NY?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitestone,_Queens#Malba That was a neighborhood in Queens.
The only way the neighbors are going to get away with shooting people would be if said neighbors were illegals.
“Racist chair”.
Ehh, she has a point. The swastikas jumped out at me, and it would definitely put me off.
OTOH, there is a 1920s building in Chicago (small apartment building out in the neigborhoods) where the nice tile floor in the lobby includes swastikas.
Swastika patterns can be found in various cultures.
Seeing one and screaming “Nazi!” is a bit much, to put it mildly.
I’ve been contacted by a team of lawyers and told to remove this post or face legal action from the flatulent warthog community who do not wish to be associated with Mr Piers Morgan.
One woketard “informed” me that such patterns are allowed only if you are from a culture known for such traditional patterns. What if you’re a Sealed Knot/SCA person who is exploring/celebrating that culture? No, not good enough. Do that and you’re obviously a Nazi.
You’d think the silly old tosser never heard of a recipe.
Not to mention chicken tikka masala is a wholly English invention.
Who needs juries anyway?
I strongly agree with Blackadder here.
What was I saying earlier about Quislings?
On this side of the pond it was called “Hoppity Hop” and it had a better handle and it came in red and blue and other colors.
Anyone comes to visit me in the states, we can go see the world’s biggest human excavation, an open-air copper mine.
They use that size of vehicle to haul all that dirt. There’s a tire set aside for you to marvel over the size.
Where’s the camera filming the exterior shots and who’s holding it?
Is it a drone? It’s pretty steady for a drone.
Whence the idea that Trump is a pedo? Is it hypothetical trips to Epstein island, where they didn’t feature CHILDREN but underaged TEENS? (In that case, it’s ephebophilia, attraction to newly pubescent teens, not prepubescent children.)
They need to be careful with that — one of their own is likely to be implicated for the same crime, but with actual evidence.
Calling Trump “Hitler” and “Nazi” every fourth word has lost any traction. ‘Pedo’ is the new Nazi.
[ Sleeps in ’til 6:30, feels decadent. ]
I’m not sure what to make of this.
Grok confirms that this video is not AI-generated, and that the young woman, Rebecca, is a “hobbyist,” or a woman who enjoys playacting with her “reborns,” lifelike dolls that are treated as real by adult women.
I’ve only seen the infant reborns before, not these toddler dolls. Grok says reborns are often used by women who lost their children, as a therapeutic measure, but there’s no indication that Rebecca has lost children. I guess she could be a single woman who wants kids, or she just likes playing with the dolls.
It might be more uncanny-valley stuff like AI companions and medical transition that’s infesting our society.
All pretend and nothing real.
What’s this facility just west of Tooele he said innocently, not at all being a spy…
I am lost in IKEA.
[ Launches flare, waits for rescue. ]
I have noticed more than a few commenters in social media who are quick to call anyone who disagrees with them “pedo” and other things.
An armory? Car-park for armored vehicles? Array of prudently spaced bunkers ordnance sheds?
Those nefarious Swedes.
Did a prankster move the “this way out” arrows again?
Going that far seems anti-therapeutic.
While wandering through departments that we’d already wandered through minutes earlier, I did suggest an IKEA app that shows your precise location in-store in relation to whatever the hell it is you’re looking for. Like a Star Trek tricorder, but for frying pans and scatter cushions.
But that would undermine their marketing strategy. #PerfidiousSwedes.
Irving Kristol should have worn a rubber.
Deleted?
I get a “Hmm, this page doesn’t exist” message.
I did suggest an IKEA app that shows your precise location in-store
Here you go:
So it seems. I’ll see if I can find a screenshot somewhere.
Try this link.
The first video of the bank robbery gone bad really needs Yakity Sax underneath it.
That worked.
Kristol is the poster boy (landscape, not portrait) for what Mark Steyn so aptly describes as the ‘Wanker Right‘, happy to peddle whatever line keeps him in well-aged port.
Well given that the sun doesn’t rise until what? 8:00 AM over yonder this time of year? How y’all get anything done is a mystery.
