Now there’s a lingering mental image.
Simon Webb (History Debunked) on this…
Media ‘shocked’ by the passengers response, not by the mad savage.
31 flavours of Nazism?
It is simply not possible to hate the media as they deserve.
More of that progressive empathy we spoke of earlier.
Or, pretentious, suicidal out-group preference.
Or, as it could easily come to be known, the ruin of us all.
Persistence of culture: In the mid 1700s, Frederick the Great made Prussia a great military culture, very organized and disciplined. This carried over into the new state of Germany. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Germany obtained colonies in Africa and was brutal with the natives, conducting genocides to secure power. This attitude continued with the two world wars.
Given this example of cultural continuity, and others, why do we (by which I mean the Left) continue to assert that there is no such thing as culture? That immigrants could not possibly be bringing their dysfunctional culture with them? That you might find Hatian immigrants in NYC doing voodoo? Vietnamese immigrants eating geese from the park and dogs?
Well that protest didn’t quite go to plan.
“You’re on a throne of entitlement” if this entitled bint can no longer buy brownies and popsickles with her EBT card. It is unclear if the EBT paid for the nails, though.

Obviously false. Repeatedly refuted. But lefties keep telling each other these lies.
Damn. Had to log in again. First time in about two weeks….
This. So f’n tired of seeing this. Especially from some of my more religious conservative…”conservative”
friendsassociates. Really became quite tiresome a few years ago but still a thing. Especially after I actually invested time and effort trying to help them, both the “homeless” and especially these…associates…who frequently raised these issues. Many such examples: Meanwhile at an ER….
Paul Kersey had the right idea.

“A dark complexion…”, yes, mustn’t use doubleplusungood words to describe the obvious.
That needs to be a meme. 🎯
It pretty much is.
“But most people on the train weren’t slashed.”
Interesting topic. A fairer assessment would probably say that by the time of the Romans, human sacrifice was becoming rare amongst the groups who would later become Europe, but was by no means non-existent. The Romans made some comment about sacrificial practices by the Celts in Britain. Certain pre-Christian Germanic tribes practiced it.
It certainly gets mentioned in a *lot* of myths, amongst other things giving rise to the later story/cliche about maidens being left out to appease a dragon. Many of the myths seem keen to proscribe the action – ie, it’s a fictional way of saying ‘here is a terrible thing that we used to do, let’s not do that again’. So maybe a practice that was widespread not so very long before they were first told.
In terms of human history, 2000-2500 years is not particularly long ago. Given the prevalence of talk of human sacrifice among the various Indo European languages – Greek, German, Celtic, etc – one can only presume that it must have been widespread among the original Proto-Indo European tribes – 8000 odd years ago.
It also depends what you define as human sacrifice. In a sense Christ’s death was a ‘final’ sacrifice, but Christ didn’t want to do it and his followers didn’t want him to either – ‘Father, let this cup pass from me’.
