Apparently Darin Morgan, a screenwriter for the series, played the monster and actually looks like that in real life.
Fake. And not in a good way. As David says, we really need to bring back shame. And real fathers who understand these things.
Those are all good. I remember really liking the one where the ship starts falling apart and it turns out the crew are copies made in a previous episode.
And the Equinox episodes, which is another ST episode that challenges the ideals of the Star Trek universe (without ruining it completely, like modern Star Trek).
Voyager is unfairly maligned by ST fans in my opinion: there are quite a few decent episodes. Though I agree that it struggles to find its feet at first, then focuses too much on Seven of Nine towards the end.
