“heyyy guys”
Did he just misgender me?
Presumably, it’s intended to wind-up and aggravate “guys” who aren’t enthused by mentally ill men venturing into ladies’ toilets and changing rooms. Hence the overly dramatic laugh and air of triumphant trolling. Though I’d suggest that in itself may be quite revealing of the motives in play.
Sadly, Alex, the burly gentleman in the video – pronouns “she/they” – is, it seems, “taking a break” from TikTok. Thereby denying us further moral advancement.
You don’t see females who’ve transitioned to male simulacrums doing the same kind of taunting in male spaces, do you? I wonder why this is?

And that’s sort-of the thing, isn’t it? I mean, as an issue, a phenomenon, transgenderism has little, if any, direct impact on my life and I certainly don’t spend my evenings fretting about it. I am, though, interested in the mental contortions that are often and widely performed in its name, both by activists, for instance, here, and by those who apparently think that mouthing modish idiocies will make them popular, or at least help them to remain employed.
What primarily interests me is the fashionable unrealism, the abandonment of probity, and just how readily some people will choose to become absurd. And of course, the way in which poking at such things – or simply failing to affirm them – can result in rather breathless accusations.
It’s not unlike the subject of race, which, again, I don’t find particularly, intrinsically interesting. But as this blog is largely about the mental habits of so-called progressives, and as so-called progressives seem all but fixated with these subjects, in ways one might call neurotic, they do tend to crop up.

From Ed West, a potted history of the left’s useful idiots:
Talk. Talk. It’s only talk. Approaching these problems, be they socialism or tranny fascism or feminism or whatever from a perspective/expectation of rationalism or logic or any other such tool of the so-called enlightenment is folly. A fool’s errand. If you wish to have any sway over future events you must employ strong emotionally based efforts. It may go against logic and reason but in a world where no one cares about such things they are a waste of time in the real world of human psychology.
I am, though, interested in the mental contortions that are often and widely performed in its name, both by activists, for instance, here, and by those who apparently think that mouthing modish idiocies will make them popular, or at least help them to remain employed.
Those people don’t interest me neither, nor scare me…much. What worries me are the doctors, coaches, teachers, business ‘leaders’ and such supposedly normal, rational thinking people who refuse to speak up about these things. Those that go along to get along. When you ask them about such things they get uncomfortable or try to avoid a subject that they deny is important. It goes to their integrity. If someone can look at what is obviously a man and be uncomfortable with saying so, how can I trust them with any other under-the-radar issues that might come up regarding MY health or MY finances or MY children (assuming I had such). It certainly seems important regarding the virus.
The Left in general and women in particular have been pulling the fainting couch out at the slightest provocation: they feel “unsafe” because of this or that, a man looked at them!, no more dirty jokes!. You can’t even ask some of them on a date. Especially on college campus. And yet this vid of a guy in the ladies room is supposed to be not only ok but to be celebrated.
In the past when everyone had to work 12 hrs/day in a factory or on a farm and the rest of the time was difficult due to lack of conveniences, there was no time for performative nuttiness. And of course, no internet to show off your specialness.
How do you see the true % of blonds? Count blondness on children (adult women color their hair). Likewise, to see that trans-ness in teens is mostly fake, note the very high % among girls but that of those who get the surgery it is far more men than women.

WTP: interest me or scare me? No. However, I don’t want my grandchildren getting a trans story hour or getting DIE indoctrination. At work, we had to sit through all day zoom training on anti-racism. It wasn’t too bad when going through the history of racism, but the implications of “privilege” and the ending exhortation to become activists…arghhh. If we were forced to loudly proclaim our religious fervor to get a job, people would go nuts, but you must proclaim your loyalty to DIE in order to get a job at a university or get your law degree (among others). It is even worse because in the first case everyone knew it was religion. Now they can just pretend it is simply “fairness”.
Oh dear lord.

Yes. That thing I’ve said time and again here regarding my Jane Elliott style diversity training 30 years ago. I fought that crap as much as was reasonably possible. Probably cost me promotions…ones that I didn’t want anyway. But still. It is a primary reason I turned down a management position when offered. There was simply no way I was going to browbeat any developers that worked for me into participating in that crap in any way. The guy that position went to, a younger very conservativey conservative religious I see is just now, finally…slowly waking up to the damage that the idiocy has been doing on such a broad scale for the last 30+ years. Of course he’s now all It’s All Part Of Great God’s Great Plan. So he’s good.
This isn’t directly tied to the diversity or tranny or socialism or whatever crap, except that it is in the context of group-think and how the smarty-smart-smart guys, like doctors…the MD kind…are trying to kill me. I have been complaining to two different doctors…actually I think it’s three or four but at least with one of those it was out of his specialty…sort of…about the miserable trouble I have been having over the last couple of years now getting out of a chair. I’m still not 60 yet. I have worked out, fairly hard, most of my life. Not much for weight lifting but I even started some of that along with other physical therapy. Over the last year and a half, the PT was having no effect. By accident, I ran out of my statin a couple weeks ago. I’ve always been a bit lazy about it but never went more than two nights without it. Long boring story omitted (you’re welcome) but after three days without it, I found I was getting in and out of a chair, in and out of my truck, etc. much more reasonably. My balance, which was very noticeable with some of the PT I have been doing, has greatly improved.
Doctors. One who when I expressed rational but mild skepticism about the vaccines…in defense of seeing no need for myself to get one, asked me where I would have been regarding polio vaccines. So bloody f’n boilerplate lefty pop-news BS coming from a doctor. When I expressed frustration with doctors, something I had expressed several times with a (once) close friend and his girlfriend, the girlfriend empathized and recommended her doctor. Which was the same doctor who mocked my questioning the vaccines.
But hey, experts….they’re smaaaaart. I mean sure, medical doctors with all of their training and all of their smarts, maybe might kinda sorta mess up medical stuff and stuff. But the ones sending you to diversity training? Don’t you question that. They will shut down your social media accounts. Even if you’re just joking.

The cultural template was set by the movies where Worthington Winthrop III and his chums find their country club/college fraternity/investment bank invaded by a cheeky outsider.
The template depicts the outsider’s gleeful flouting of the insiders’ sense of propriety and discretion as a breath of fresh air into an institution that stinks of hypocrisy and privilege. The more disagreeable the outsider makes himself to Worthington, the more Worthington protests, the better the comic justice.
For most of that time, white women thought that only white men would have to bite their tongues when an outsider invited him- or herself into their spaces, for fear of getting 15 minutes of fame as a Worthington. But Karen Winthrop III having become a cultural reference point, white women can now get their 15 minutes too.

The logic is spelt out explicitly: who should be consulted about our community’s access to your community? Our community should be consulted. Your community of Winthrops and Karens has no moral authority in the matter of outsiders having access, merely irrational fears requiring medical supervision. Moreover, your community’s historical exclusion of our community creates a moral debt requiring ongoing scolding, monitoring, and reparations, the implementation of which our community expects to be consulted about.
The entry of MtF’s into women’s sports has created the need for managerialism and policy committees and for smaller sports bodies to punt tricky issues to the IOC. And then the MtF’s turn around and say that the policy is policing us. Rhetorical judo, and also following through on the logic that being a woman makes you a legitimate inheritor of the historical mantle and moral authority of groups of women oppressed by the authorities throughout the ages.

Brown was asked in the hearings if she could define “woman”. She could not, ie would not. Anything she would say would reveal how she will vote in anything related to trans issues.
No one “decides” (I mean in the real world) to be male or female. As kids, one just finds that one has certain proclivities and interests. My brothers and I brought home snakes, turtles, and spiders in a jar (the spiders in the jar, not the turtles). We loved to wrestle with each other and with our uncle. We climbed trees. Boys love to test themselves. We loved westerns, war movies, and the three stooges. All of this arose out of our genes, our hormones, and the wiring of our brain. All efforts to tame little boys do not turn them into girls. Their drives to create mayhem are inherent. All of it is what it means to be male. Same with women. Their femaleness arises out of their nature, not due to decisions they make.
What about tom-boys? They aren’t “really” male. Some will turn out to be lesbians. Some just have a little more testosterone or extraversion than average. There is no wiring of the brain that causes a person to experience the wrong sex. It is conceptual or emotional.
If you wish to have any sway over future events you must employ strong emotionally based efforts
When Western society allowed women to vote but did not also require them to shoulder all of the burdens of citizenship – such as being subject to the draft – it set in motion an inevitable chain of events which has led to the current state of affairs. Give any large monolithic voting bloc power without accountability and they will use it to rewrite society according to their subconscious desires.
As has been pointed out repeatedly, woke posturing and cancel culture are just high school mean girls tactics writ large.

They center the feelings of the cisgender competitors who may feel threatened by competing against a trans person rather than the feelings of the trans people like Weiner, who are often excluded or policed by them.
In the name of comedy, please tell me Weiner has one…or did…
Now I have to read the danged article. But what pops out from that quote (besides the Weiner) is this theme of “Me, me, me: center the feelings of me and disregard the feelings of everyone else – or else!”.

Note that despite using the words “transphobe” and “transphobia” quite pointedly, almost gleefully, and no fewer than seven times, the author of the piece apparently sees no need to provide even one example to support the accusation. Yep, no one is “assigned” a sex at birth.
This is peak Lysenkoism.
Biologically, with genes, chromosomes, gametes, and internal organs to back it up, sex is one case where humans actually are “Born That Way”. Humans are not assigned a sex at birth, they literally were born that way, one of the two sexes. Some humans are born with genetic or developmental issues where that sex is not exactly clear at birth, much like some humans are born with 6 fingers or without arms. There is no indefinite spectrum of numbers of limbs or phalanges in the human body. There is no infinite spectrum of sex, either. There is the usual number, and there are mutations. All are human. How hard is this to figure out? And I thought biology was the “easy” science!
Note that despite using the words “transphobe” and “transphobia” quite pointedly, almost gleefully, and no fewer than seven times, the author of the piece apparently sees no need to provide even one example to support the accusation.

Yeah. People get mad when I say that. I still say that. Just not unsolicited. But damn, I am having a harder and harder time biting my tongue waiting for the “proper” moment to deploy the bloody obvious. One of my recent back-doors to this is to hijack memes. I see a meme, say that says “When things are overwhelming, remember one thing at a time” and the picture is a woman in a big floppy hat heading out to a dock on a lake, I replace the pic with one of soldiers unloading from a Higgins boat on D-Day.
Yep, no one is “assigned” a sex at birth.
Not to be pedantic…well, maybe…but there is ONE major thing about the trans thing that makes me uncomfortable in this regard and that is the hermaphrodite situation. When I learned about that in school I was absolutely horrified that such a thing would occur. I had a greater faith in God back then. Well, shortly before then. As I was taught at the time, not sure if still the practice, per the parents’ discretion a sex would be assigned via surgery shortly post-birth.
Heh…missed CLR’s comment to that hermaphrodite effect. Exactly.

Apparently, this is the standard now. This is good enough for people who will agree and want to be seen agreeing. It’s quite shameless. It’s also quite weird, dealing with people whose most emphatic opinions – declared loudly and often, like social jewellery – are governed by social positioning and group dynamics, rather than anything approaching autonomous mental activity.
Again, wokeness corrodes probity.

What the flying fuck is that bullshit?
There’s a building at West Point named Cullum Hall (https://www.westpoint.edu/military/directorate-of-cadet-activities/hostess/cullum-hall-history). When I was there over 40 years ago, there was a plaque on the wall for a graduate who had died in 1918. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the young officer’s name from that plaque, but he died as a Colonel during the fun of 1918 in France. (There’s a lot of boring trivia around that he may have been a Colonel in set A of the US Army at the time, but still considered to a 2LT in the ‘real’ set of the US Army at the time. That trivia still existed in WW2.)
Here’s a 25 year old (http://forwhattheygaveonsaturdayafternoon.com/wp-kia1915/edwin-richardson-kimble) who died as a field grade officer. When I was 22, my job was to take my M60 tank (M60A1 RISE Passive in the beginning then M60A3 RISE TTS, for those who would care about such things (who probably aren’t reading any of this)) with another 4 of them to a location somewhat near a border of a Warsaw Pact member to kill as many of the invading military as possible to delay them.
I was barely 17 years old when I volunteered to do that. I had to do the work to get the nomination when I was 16. If you don’t know who you are by 25, you are worthless.
And I see that the Germans borrow our “shitstorm” rather than use the perfectly good “Scheißesturm”.
For some reason I find the bits where they sample English colloquialisms particularly hilarious, not only because it’s flattering to my native language. It becomes like a shared joke – Germans seem to love that sort of humour, because of course they all know English so it’s like a knowing reference, a nudge in the side between comrades.
I should mention that the young officer who died in 1918 was a 1915/1916 graduate; I believe that should have put him to be a rather bit younger than 25.
Well, there’s a slight difference between nicht schießen and nicht scheißen.
sigh I was barely 17 when I became a cadet. I was almost 22 when I was a platoon leader with the aforementioned tank platoon.
I had absolutely no doubts about what it meant to be a US Army officer at the age of 16 when I did the work to become a cadet at the age of 17. So, I had volunteered to “do the needful” when I showed up at West Point when I had been 17 for ~3 months.
(This is getting close to spamming. I extend my apologies to our host for my being so unfocused.)
What the flying fuck is that bullshit?
Basic neuroscience?
Neuroplasticity declines significantly in the early twenties, to the point that one’s personality – which is a sum of one’s experiences reflected in the configuration of the neural network that is the human brain – is largely fixed by the mid-twenties, but more easily shaped by external stimuli until then. Since you want to bang on about the military, this is why younger recruits tend to be more affected by shell shock/PTSD than older soldiers, field experience notwithstanding.
Is today a Not-Friday?

When I was 22, my job was to take my M60 tank…with another 4 of them to a location somewhat near a border of a Warsaw Pact member to kill as many of the invading military as possible to delay them.
And the likelihood was that the tank platoons would not survive the battle. Life expectancy measured in days, a USMA graduate told me.
Measured in hours for a National Guard air refueling wing, as I recall, because they could maximize the range of B-52’s by doing the refueling rendezvous beyond the point where the tankers would have enough fuel to get home.

Uni job without salary: going back to the earliest days of Cambridge, where you got a room and meals in the commons as a prof unless you had your own income.
Skinny librarian “lady”: talk about cognitive dissonance!
Crowder: he is hilarious. Makes his point so well. I get spammed daily with invitations to be an honored speaker at a vaguely defined conference in Malaysia or China or somewhere, and they will accept any abstract at all. It is either a business (for the real conferences) or a scam (you pay registration and go and there is no conf). The uni decline started with the “studies” programs. Because it was either feminist or black, you could not criticize them. Because they were fundamentally based on lies and used critical theory as their method, you got BS piled on top of BS, but no one could say anything. The rot spread.

Hippies objected to rigor. “Just be relaxed and casual, man, here have a joint. The Sokal Hoax was about 25 years ago, and academia has only gotten worse since then. This proves that although such hoaxes can be useful for publicizing just how dishonest the academic left is, they are not in themselves sufficient: It is also necessary to have policies that exclude leftists from any institution that you do not want to see corrupted and destroyed.
