The head of one of Scotland’s biggest rape crisis centres has suggested “bigoted” rape survivors should be re-educated about transgender rights as part of recovering from their trauma. Mridul Wadhwa, a transgender woman, said people would not truly recover unless they addressed their “unacceptable beliefs” because “therapy is political.” She said: “We will work with you… but please expect to be challenged on your prejudices.” The comments imply rape survivors may be treated differently according to their political views.
So, a woman who has just been traumatically violated by a man pretending to be something that he isn’t, i.e., a lover, and been forced to submit to his fantasies, is now to face another man pretending to be something that he isn’t. And will be forced to submit to his fantasies.

Wadhwa, a self-styled “strategic thinker,” insists that “therapy is political” – which apparently means that a woman who’s been raped by a man and then seeks help from other women will be told, on the orders of a man, that she “can’t really… recover from trauma” until she “reframes” that experience to incorporate the most modish and deranging iteration of transgender ideology. Failure to do so is “unacceptable” and will of course be “challenged.” Because priorities.
The centre is currently advertising for a chief operating officer, who must also be a woman, and says applications from trans women would be “especially welcome.”

Nearly all the news out of Scotland in recent years seems to indicate an enthusiastic embrace of some sort of fascism.
Of course, no matter what insane things they do, they will never win Wimbledon.

I know two women who’ve been raped. I’m not talking about women who give consent, have sex, regret it the next morning, and decide retroactively that they were raped. I mean women who have had a knife to their throat and been attacked by violent psychopaths.
Back in the 1970s and 1980s, it was said that women were raped twice. Once by the attacker, and again by the court system, forcing them to relive it.
Their solution appears to be to trivialize actual victims of violence in order to not offend fragile narcissists. When everything is rape, then nothing is rape, and actual victims are ignored in order to maintain a narrative.
Many years ago, there was a case in Canada when a convicted rapist got a job at a rape crisis hotline. And as always, our betters in government were tut-tutting the ignorant public about the possibly that maybe women who’d been assaulted weren’t going to be interested in talking to another rapist about their assault. He’d served his time, paid his debt, these women would just have to deal with it, etc. To the surprise of no one but everyone in the government, calls to the rape crisis hotline dropped to near zero. Unexpectedly.
Mridul Wadhwa is going to practise its (that’s the closest I can come to a non-gendered pronoun in this case) special brand of crazy wherever it is. What’s really sickening are the people who put it in charge of a rape crisis centre in the first place.

I saw it on PBS when I was 15, one of the first Python episodes, and it was a deeply weird experience on so many levels, and why I love Britain.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought I had seen every episode of Python. Must have missed that one. Although, it was usually on very late at night and I probably slept through more than a few. Also, this isn’t a particularly sports oriented blog. So you never know.

The interview process, if the covering letter with the CV doesn’t, will reveal if the job applicant suffers from wrongthink.

Well, the recent rise of fascism in Scotland is something that concerns me, and I do idly wonder how strongly it is connected to the “If it ain’t Scottish it’s crap!” chauvinism I have encountered–as opposed to the fascistic trends we see in various other countries. Sad, because at one time if you said “Scotland” my first thought would be the Scottish Enlightenment.

It attracts people for whom doing social work is more important than financial stability.
