It’s so hard to keep track of which acronyms are which. I need more tea.
I just discovered that Project Veritas has recently uploaded a series of videos capturing a CNN Technical Director boasting about how his network colluded in removing Trump, works on behalf of the Democrats to demonise Matt Gaetz, dishonestly spreads COVID panic, and secretly promotes BLM.
I see an interview about this with James O’Keefe on Hannity, but strangely nothing yet on CNN, MSNBC, or the BBC.
Odd that.
Also his Titter account has been mysteriously suspended.
A coincidence, I’m sure.
All I could think of was how she would the surviving twins that story
The New York Times published a story from around 2000 from a woman who killed two of her three children — sorry, aborted — because she didn’t see herself as one of those women buying a lot of Pampers at the store.
And then saw fit to brag about her choice to the Times readership.
Over the years, I’ve thought about that story, and wondered what a child would think learning that he could have had siblings to join him on this crazy journey.
I just thought I’d mention that the (black) capitol cop who shot dead the unarmed (white) woman will not face any disciplinary action whatsoever.
Riots, burning and looting are highly unlikely to result from this abomination. Professional sports team will not line up in gestures of solidarity and multi-million dollar compensation payment will not be made to the family of the deceased. Politicians, entertainers and media figures are almost certain not to tell us to remember her name.
“Autonomous” exclusion zones, tributes and monuments are conspicuous by their total absence.

There were no riots, burning, or looting over the black Muslim Somali cop shooting dead the unarmed white Australian woman in Minneapolis a few years back. I don’t remember if the cop was disciplined – he may have been given a health break. Same city, same type of cop screw up, but very different results. Not all lives matter.
Yikes.
I don’t remember if the cop was disciplined
I’m kind of shocked because getting juries to convict over bad shoots is fairly tough — which means the evidence was just so egregious that the jury couldn’t ignore it.
I wonder what sorts of people do want one.
I want one to put in my girlfriend’s bedroom.
Is that wrong?

A propos of absolutely nothing, I’ve been engaged in an epic and quixotic quest to get my tabletop gaming group to play any game that isn’t some variant of “murder the **** out of everything you meet”. I may have found it – an obscure indie RPG called Fight Fire, where the players play firefighters. Apparently murdering the **** out of a fully involved three story brownstone illegally subdivided into independent apartments qualifies.
I’ve been watching a bunch of firefighting documentaries and holy crap I’m hooked. Firefighting technique is fascinating.
I’ve been engaged in an epic and quixotic quest to get my tabletop gaming group to play any game that isn’t some variant of “murder the **** out of everything you meet”.
How about Sheep Shearers of Catan?
In April 2019, Noor was convicted of third-degree murder and manslaughter, but acquitted of intentional second-degree murder.
Wow – I stand corrected. Holy heck they actually disciplined him and the jury convicted. When it first happened they were almost blaming the woman (Damond) for getting herself shot or “becoming deceased” as the Wikipedia article has it.
An application for a search warrant to search the alley where the shooting occurred, referring to the shooting incident, stated “Upon police arrival, a female ‘slaps’ the back of the patrol squad. The cop’s story! After that, it is unknown to BCA agents what exactly happened, but the female became deceased in the alley.”[43] Among items collected were fingerprints from the rear cargo door window of the squad car.[44]
Hours after the shooting, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigators controversially obtained a second search warrant and carried out a search of Damond’s home for evidence, including “‘bodily fluids, controlled substances, and writings”. They did not take anything from the property.[45] Noor refused to speak with investigators, invoking his right against self-incrimination.[46] Noor and Harrity were then on paid administrative leave.[47]
Paid admin leave is the last I heard of it – completely missed the trial and conviction. Damn!
Still – the Philando Castile incident (he didn’t quite make it to sainthood, but not for lack of media trying), then this, then Saint Floyd, and now saint whoever just got shot by that woman cop that’s the latest excuse to loot and burn – something stinks in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Which can’t be, because all the Good people are in charge there, from local government all the way up to Congressional level. There’s something systemic going on all right, but it’s not white supremacy or racism.
Daniel,
Can’t say I’ve ever had a murder-hobo infestation at my table; my perhaps uncharitable instinct is that you should find better players, but it sounds like changing to system wherein the fundamental mechanic doesn’t encourage the bad behavior worked for you. If they bakcslide, I think Seth Skorkowsky did a YouTube video on the topic a while ago that might be worth a watch.
Fight Fires sounds interesting. I might have to take a look.

But the only point of playing RPGs is to kill things. Isn’t it?
Sue (typing this in the intervals of playing a Dwarf Runesmith killing demons)
Firefighting technique is fascinating.
One of the things I really love about the movie Backdraft is how fire is really a major character in the story. It moves, breathes, exists as almost a sentient entity. The story has a lot of soap-opera cheese, but, dayum, *fire* is not an after-thought here.
There’s something systemic going on all right, but it’s not white supremacy or racism
IIRC, there was an independent commission set up to investigate the police department looking for racism. What I found hilarious is that it found no evidence of racism but it did find staggering amounts of corruption and unethical behaviour, ranging from simple abuse of power all the way up to outright bribes.
you should find better players
You go to war with the army that you have. I myself am a filthy hippie storygamer, but the available player pool is pretty much permanently welded to the current flavour of D&D. Just getting them to try anything that isn’t D&D has been a weeks long struggle. It is what it is.
Fight Fire can be found in the volume at the link. Fair warning, it uses the FATE system and is not in any sense a complete game, or even a supplement. It was written mostly as a thinkpiece and requires a fair bit of work to turn into something you can run.
But the only point of playing RPGs is to kill things. Isn’t it?
That question has probably spawned more internecine nerdrage than any other; I will refrain from repeating the various arguments.
fire is really a major character in the story. It moves, breathes, exists as almost a sentient entity.
The design conceit for Fight Fire is, in fact, “Fire is a living thing” (Backdraft was one of the major influences on Fight Fire, obviously). Within the context of the game the fire is statted out as an independent character with its own motivations, unique abilities and a kind of animal cunning.
You go to war with the army that you have. I myself am a filthy hippie storygamer

Pooklord: “No matter where you are on this planet, there is sea all the way around. It’s the nature of the place.”
And in the [desperate] ‘tradition’ of TimT I am reminded of a gag from the Goon Show [The Flea]:
Spriggs [Judge]: Please, be seated please. The case is come to Jim “Thighs” Moriarty, minister without underpants, versus the British Crown, with underpants. Will the plaintiff open the case?
French Type Person (Greenslade):
My lord, we claim damages of forty thousand golden crowns, for the savage attack by an English flea, residing under the roof of Mr. Samuel Pepys, Secretary to the Navy.
Spriggs:
Ahhh. Well acted! Now then, what is a Navy?
Seagoon:
[shouting] A Navy, my lord, is an army entirely surrounded by water!
DR: ‘Earth has a hidden 8th continent’
God help us in Australia then if the water level drops so that NZ folks can cross to Australia by foot via a land bridge. We keep shipping them back to NZ as fast as we can. As previously mentioned they have the America’s Cup and lots of sheep; they should stay where they are. What more could they want?
I’ve been watching a bunch of firefighting documentaries
Any specific recommendations?
Also, on the subject of gaming, do people actually buy game-related 3D-printed figures much? I’m trying to justify buying a resin printer and maybe selling items like that (or doing custom orders).
Meanwhile, in biking news.
As previously mentioned they have the America’s Cup and lots of sheep; they should stay where they are. What more could they want?

Darleen – I am perhaps too petty to give Bari “Oh NOW The Left Went Too Far” Weiss clicks*, and studiously ignore her works. Though I assume you’ve been reading her and would like your opinion on her…er, conversion.
*I have a poor memory, but even I can recall this revealing disaster.
OK, not knowing this Weiss character…the “revealing disaster” truly is a disaster. And she’s the same person from Darleen’s link? And she’s asking if “things are starting to turn”? And most of the comments there are in support of the guy who wrote the letter objecting to CRT? Do I have that right? Maybe things are starting to turn and this Weiss weasel, like all weasels, is trying to pretend she’s on the same side as the letter writer.
Daily I scour the web for any glimmers of hope. If this is not real in some way or I’m misunderstanding, please let me know.
to give Bari “Oh NOW The Left Went Too Far” Weiss clicks*
I give mugged liberals a chance to prove themselves and, so far, I’m willing to click through. This isn’t her writing but featuring a letter written by a dad who is yanking his daughter from a very tony private school that is now fully Woke. He has sent it to 600 other parents of the school, too.
Prof William Jacobson excerpts the letter here.
The full letter at Weiss’s site is worth the click, IMHO.
I question these numbers: Amazon’s ‘The Lord of the Rings’ to Cost $465M for Just One Season
The New Zealand import duties on strawberrry scented bath soap cannot be that high…
Daily I scour the web for any glimmers of hope
Weiss is/was what I would characterize as a typical East Coast Jewish Liberal who has been mugged by the Leftist woke crowd. She quit her NYTimes job last July with a letter that revealed how the Woke mob has taken over which included a lot of bullying of her cuz JOOOOO.
She’s still liberal, but like Glenn Greenwald, Eric Weinstein and others, they have decided to point out and oppose the neo-Marxists who have taken over the “liberal” label.
Yes. Just read her Wiki bio. She’s originally from Pittsburgh. Seems she was not far/hard left, especially in regard to Israel. Surprised that she’s 37 and still as clueless/confused as she comes across in the video Sam linked. Either way, something isn’t adding up in my mind. Either way. Weird. That video is pretty damning though. Of course it’s cut for comedic effect but still. I know I’m a broken record on this but yet another, granted milder, instance of why I continue to descend into solipsism. It’s not that I find the idea appealing, it just seems it’s increasingly the only logical explanation. Of course why I feel the need to tell anyone such a thing…
A real dad.
Unfortunately I doubt even if all the parents yanked their kids that the school would change. The type of people sending their kids to these schools are generally just looking for the sheepskin golden ticket to get Snotley into an Ivy so that Snotley will get that golden ticket to maintain “elite” status.
These schools usually have a wait list and there are no end of bozos lined up to plonk down 54 large to get their sprog in – “Don’t let the door hit you Guttman – Mx. Applebotton, get that Hungadunga guy on the horn, we got an opening”.
Old, but one such person details her travails to get a kid into the kindergarten one of these schools.
What does it take for a white parent to object to anti-white activism on the basis that it’s anti-white? On the basis that it portrays you and your ancestors as monsters and desires either extinction or dhimmitude for your descendants.
Is it permissible for a white parent to act in a principled and explicit way in the best interest of his children and his ethnic group, or is he always obliged to state it in terms of what he imagines to be the best interests of a non-white ethnic group?
And if that non-white ethnic group perceives its own self-interest to lie in anti-white activism, is it not time for nicewhite parents to put aside their unreciprocated concern, and start to stand up for their own interests?
The Mussulmen in Yorkshire who objected to the classroom cartoons of Mohammad didn’t state their objection in terms of oh we don’t mind for ourselves, but we’re concerned that the irreverance towards religion might be hurtful to the Quakers. They demanded respect for their own religion and people, they stood up for their own interests. That sort of activism puts you in a strong position to get you what you want instead of being a principled loser.
I have a poor memory, but even I can recall this revealing disaster.
Ooh, I missed that! Thank you!
I would like to think that Joe Rogan’s Roll-On-The-Floor-To-Laugh-At car-crash Bari Weiss interview led directly to her awakening. I can only imagine her return to the offices of the NYT:
[Rogan] So in what way is Tulsi Gabbard an Assad Toady?
[Weiss] Oh, the gals at the NYT just say that “It Is Known”. Isn’t it Known???
… later …
[Weiss] Hey I just did this Rogan pod-thingy and he didn’t seem to believe that Tulsi Gabbard was an Assad Toady just because I told him so. What’s with that?
[NYT gals in chorus] Tulsi Gabbard is an Assad Toady. It Is Known.
[Weiss] Yeah I told him, but like, how exactly is she though?
[NYT gals in chorus] Are you questioning What Is Known? Do you want Black people to die?
[Weiss] No I was just asking…
[NYT gals in chorus] Weiss is a white supremacist toady! Get out of here toady!
[Weiss] Oh noes. Now I need a new publisher 🙁
A real dad.
Matt Mullen commented there: Do you realize [blacks] were intentionally prevented from getting an education?
Since you have to subscribe there to comment, my response is here: Do you realize that’s still being done in the public schools, run by Democrats?
That sort of activism puts you in a strong position…
Yes, when it is well known that sort of “activism” is often accompanied by the occasional mainly peaceful explosion, something the Methodists and Quakers generally don’t indulge in, that would be a stronger position than the sternly worded letter.
Do you realize that’s still being done in the public schools, run by Democrats?
TBF, it was the Democrats in the olden days as well.
