“What are you going to take?”
“The money, duh.”
“What are you going to do with it once you have it?”
“Buy things. Stop being so obtuse.”
“Why would people with things exchange them for money if they know someone’s going to take it away?”
“You’re anti-intellectual.”
“Relevant people” LOL
The level of utter toolery is quite high.
ProfessorAdjunct Lecturer Zenkus. I know, you are as surprised as I was.Well, that rather explains quite a bit about his tenuous grasp of reality.
The level of utter toolery is quite high.
Michael Breton and Nexus Global
But Wait ! That’s Not All !
If this chap wasn’t a Canuck, I’d imagine that “voluntarily” distributing income would involve firearms as it usually does, but it appears he might be the only member of his foundation.
Mr Breton “likes the energy” of threats to “fucking take” someone else’s earnings. So, I suspect that Mr Breton’s one-world peacenik pantomime is a Rizla-thin camouflage for a rather unpleasant personality. In my experience, it has generally been the case.
When I hover the cursor pointer finger over Mr Breton’s relevant people bio a little pop-up message says “Quickly to the escape pods.” Nice touch.
Nice touch.
Bonus content!
“Why would people with things exchange them for money if they know someone’s going to take it away?”
To be fair, they want to take your things away, too.
…A world without war will not happen overnight. Nexus will maintain a sizeable military presence all over the world to ensure all sides lay down their arms…
When they make war, it’s different.
I imagine if someone showed up with guns at Mr. Breton’s door to fucking take his wealth, he’d feel differently.
I imagine if someone showed up with guns at Mr. Breton’s door to fucking take his wealth, he’d feel differently.
If someone takes his wealth, they should not merely take it; they should fucking take it. 😀

Adjunct Lecturer Zenkus has been at his dismal flummery for 30 years, yet is still only a Mr. and an Adjunct Lecturer. Breton wrote his screed 30 years ago and still hasn’t raised his World Wide Army of Darkness to achieve World Domination and Global Gulag of Love and Kindness.

What if ‘Prof’ Zenkus earns more than me? Can I ‘f*cking take’ his stuff?
They *always* sound like kids.
Our ageing adjunct lecturer’s other wisdom includes a claim that a wariness of “bad neighbourhoods,” i.e., areas notorious for high levels of anti-social and criminal behaviour, is merely “racist and classist,” and therefore something to be sneered at and dismissed. He also tells us, quite emphatically, that “capitalism is theft” – unlike “fucking taking” other people’s earnings, presumably.
Clearly, he’s well-equipped to educate other people’s children as to how the world is.
[O]r we’ll fvcking take it.
It’s hard to take seriously someone who can’t just say “fuck.”
It’s hard to take seriously someone who can’t just say “fuck.”
You have to wonder if the parents of the teenagers this tool is supposedly educating – the ones forking out over $40,000 a year for the privilege – ever bother to browse the tweets of the people entrusted with this task. Would they be encouraged and impressed? Would they imagine their money is being spent well? Do they not care?
He also tells us, quite emphatically, that “capitalism is theft”…
Well, seeing as how the average Columbia adjunct lecturer makes less in a year than the basic undergrad tuition, it is not surprising he does say in his bio he was one of the Occupy Wall Street clowns.
Of course he also brags about having given a single TedX talk five years ago, all 14 minutes of which you study here to raise your class consciousness and learn that money is directly correlated to brain size – up to middle class, which is of course undefined, but I am guessing anyone above the salary of a Columbia adjunct lecturer gets shipped to the beet fields.
If you like, you can jump to about 8:40 when he goes full Marxist with all the SJW boilerplate.
Don’t say I am not a giver.
Would they imagine their money is being spent well? Do they not care?
Most only care that Biff and Muffy have a sheepskin that says Columbia as, overrated as the Ivies are, it is a ticket to the in crowd.
However, also Columbia, separate but equal, Jim Crow comes to Morningside Heights.
Natalie Solent on Pontins and Irish ‘travellers’.
This last line of this part of Solent’s post: caught my eye in particular:
You don’t put Gandalf clip art on top of an announcement that is likely to be met with outrage. The writer assumed that the staff would accept what he or she saw as the obvious need to keep Travellers out […] I assume that there was an implied “after what happened last time” there.
Incidentally, an article from 12 January 2016 in The Independent,‘Butlin’s and Pontin’s accused of keeping secret ‘blacklists’ of Traveller families’, shows this goes back at least five years and probably longer.
I think it’s probably also worth noting that there’s been a long-standing admiration for travellers and gypsies among bourgeois intellectuals – at least in the UK – that stretches back at least to the nineteenth century.
The painter Augustus John for example, a darling of the Bloomsbury Group, took to the road in a gypsy caravan, taking both his wife, children and mistress with him in an early prototype of something like an experiment in anti-Capitalist polyamory.
It was a lifestyle seen as being in defiance of stifling Victorian morality and an escape from Middle Class peer pressure to conform and consume.
And apparently it’s a lifestyle that still seems to be popular with present day inheritors of that Bloomsbury tradition … which I can only imagine must involve some very practised turning of a blind eye to the almost certainly shocking rates of domestic violence against women and children in that community
Not to mention slavery of course.
And, no, that’s not a joke
Eleven members of [a] Traveller family with Irish roots have been jailed in the UK for violently exploiting at least 18 victims of modern slavery.
The Rooney family, who were based on Traveller sites in Lincoln, targeted homeless people and men with learning disabilities to work and live in squalid conditions for up to 26 years. Their offences were described in court as “chilling in their mercilessness”
The victims were kept in caravans without running water or toilet facilities, Nottingham Crown Court heard, while their captors wore Rolex watches, drove expensive cars and lived in gleaming homes that were “palatial in comparison” to their workers’ conditions.
Judge Timothy Spencer said the difference in their lives was “akin to the gulf between medieval royalty and the peasantry” as he jailed 11 members of the family for up to 15 years on Tuesday.
which I can only imagine must involve some very practised turning of a blind eye to the almost certainly shocking rates of domestic violence against women and children in that community. Not to mention slavery of course.
The fawning indulgence of this alleged “community,” and the suspension of normal proprieties, is quite revolting. As noted here before, if your chosen lifestyle is rooted in parasitism and a belief that, having turned someone’s field or whatever into a litter-strewn biohazard, you can just move on and leave some other sucker to deal with it, then other antisocial tendencies are hardly surprising. And the more that such behaviour is indulged and excused by councils, police, and leftist pundits, in the name of some supposed group victimhood, the more likely it is that those antisocial behaviours will be emboldened.
As illustrated by the grimly farcical Henry Vincent saga from a couple of years ago.
And by ‘travellers’ who, having set up an illegal encampment and rendered the site disgusting, even dangerous, then complain that a local council has failed to clear up after them.
And as a result, the reputation of said “community” grows ever more unflattering.
I read the link to Nexus Global and read it in disbelief
How could an educated person write this? It’s just untrue. It’s so utterly wrong, it’s hard to know where to start. Where are the sources and evidence for these assertions?

QED.
Natalie Solent on Pontins and Irish ‘travellers’.
Note the first comment in that link, which begins “…As the 1800s wore on, people began to distinguish between the ‘shanty’ Irish and the ‘lace-curtain Irish’ as a shorthand for noting evolving behaviour probabilities.”
Thomas Sowell writes in Intellectuals and Race:
“People who did not want to live near Irish immigrants, as a result of diseases, violence and other social pathology rampant in the Irish communities of that era, cannot be automatically dismissed as blinded by prejudice or deceived by stereotypes.*
* ‘The Germans in St. Louis were principally concentrated in the northern and southern sections of the city. The Irish also had their own special area, and it was never safe to venture from one section into the other… Rioting occurred also when Irish rowdies interfered with German picnics, frequently for no apparent reason except to add excitement to an otherwise dull Sunday.‘
–Carl Wittke, The Irish in America (New York: Russell & Russell, 1970), p. 183.
This should sound familiar to many Westerners.
And as a result, the reputation of said “community” grows ever more unflattering.
“Workers trying to clean-up a historic brewery ransacked by travellers were disgusted to find the place not only looted and wrecked but covered in piles of human excrement.”
Theodore Dalrymple has written that it is common in the UK for burglars to engage in malicious vandalism, including defecating on the floors and furniture. I have also read a few reports of illegal aliens doing the same thing in unoccupied houses in Arizona etc as they make their way from the border. Can anybody give me a good reason why such creatures should not be permanently removed from society?
Where are the sources and evidence for these assertions?
Here.
Heh. I’d forgotten that song. It certainly can stand as representative of sixties lunacy.

Spending one’s entire life in the education system tends to have that effect.
How could an educated person write this?
Orwell, “Notes on Nationalism” (1945): “The average intellectual of the Left […] could believe these things because his hatred for the British ruling class forbade him to admit that British plans could succeed. There is no limit to the follies that can be swallowed if one is under the influence of feelings of this kind. I have heard it confidently stated, for instance, that the American troops had been brought to Europe not to fight the Germans but to crush an English revolution. One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that: no ordinary man could be such a fool.“
“Workers trying to clean-up a historic brewery ransacked by travellers were disgusted to find the place not only looted and wrecked but covered in piles of human excrement.”
If you create a Designated Victim Group and exempt its members from normal proprieties, even basic reciprocation, the result will not be gratitude. A contemptuous sense of entitlement, expressed with increasing boldness, seems much more likely.
Despite efforts to depict ‘travellers’ as another supposedly besieged minority, many of them seem quite happy to victimise others as both a matter of routine and a form of entertainment. Whether by invading and vandalising other people’s property, often gratuitously and with obvious glee, or by menacing those on whom they trespass with barely-veiled threats of robbery and violence. And our self-imagined betters would have us believe that we should not allow our judgment to be informed by such experiences.
Interesting that these people never call out the super-rich by name. Republicans need to start pressing this crap. Let’s go all-in on taxing the super-rich, yes. Make Bill Gates, Jeff Bozos, the Google Boys, Warren Buffet, etc. defend why they should not take a haircut. Why should they have billions and billions of dollars? One billion should be enough for anyone. Call them out by name. Make them defend themselves. Put AOC and similar idiots in the uncomfortable position. These rich bastards have already turned on the rest of us, why do we continue to defend them?
How could an educated person write this?
Educated, regrettably, no longer means knowledgeable. Just the opposite in fact. Education has become nothing more than the inculcation of acceptable attitudes

I take issue with the misnomer ‘educated’. The accurate term is ‘extensively schooled’, much as in the way a horse is schooled in dressage.

Careless, and old economy. It should have been contrived as computer-says-no. The call centre manager lacks the procedural obfuscation skills to flourish in the new economy and get his children into good schools.
This sentence from the Deep Throat scoop reads like a Gestalt puzzle – is it supposed to be the case for the prosecution or for the defence? What conclusions would a reasonable person draw from this, or what follow-up questions would a truth-seeking journalist ask?
In the midst of Britain’s hugely competitive vacation market, Pontins was in a cut-throat battle for every client it could get – except, it is now clear, when it came to bookings from members of the Irish Traveller community.
When faced with contradictions, check your assumptions.
Like the assumption that maximizing your clientele is a goal that wouldn’t be served by keeping Travelers the hell away from them.

“Gypsies and Travellers were “undesirable guests””
I do believe the Kiwis had unpleasant experiences with some Irish scum last year [and it was nothing to do with sheep]:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/8196290/british-traveller-family-deported-new-zealand-chaos/
We in Australia are ‘blessed’ most summers with a bunch of similar [Irish] travelling scum conning elderly folks out of large sums of money by offering to paint and seal their rooftops or lay asphalt on their driveways. The work, if done at all, is always of inferior quality.

I’ve been rereading portions of Heather MacDonald’s The War on Cops. It would probably be easier to sell Antarctica than the increased application of the death penalty that I was contemplating.
Messrs. Zenkus and Breton are sorely in need of a remedial mugging.
After which they can clean toilets in Antarctica.

Unscarequoted:
To use the English language, Gypsies and Travellers were (putting it mildly) undesirable guests.

There’s a nugget of truth in the woke blather; it is fair to ask why characters in children’s films need to have exaggerated sexuality. I think we could probably do with a bit less constant sexualization in children’s media.
However the Warner Brothers cartoons were not created for children. They were shorts before the main feature at adult cinema. Therefore it was perfectly obvious to the audience that Pepe le Pew was a caricature of a French lothario. That was obvious to me even as a seven year old. Other racist tropes were less apparent to me as a child, e.g. Speedy Gonzales as an “amusing” counter-example of the “lazy Mexican” stereotype.
“First they came for Pepe, and I said nothing, as I was not a skunk that spoke French…”
God, I love those cartoons.

It is fair to ask why characters in children’s films need to have their sexuality decried or denied. I think we could probably do with a bit less constant indoctrination in children’s media.
😉

How long until we are shown in explicit detail that Bugs Bunny is trans, Elmer Fudd is gay, and Daffy Duck identifies as a sexy skunk?
I think we could probably do with a bit less constant sexualization in children’s media.
What we need is a sense of proportion. There is a world of difference between “Cuties” and “Desmond is Amazing” and cartoon characters that have been around for years.
I would be surprised if the number of guys who decided to become drag queens because as kids they saw this is a number greater than zero.
The secondary issue is the notion that, as referenced above, one can only be a strong empowered wymxn if one looks and acts like a stevadore and couldn’t get a date at a Sadie Hawkins dance with a lasso, bullwhip, and a taser.
Meanwhile, I can’t tell you how many times this has happened to me because I saw it Saturday mornings as a kid.
OTOH, maybe it is just a bunch of control freaks.
I think we could probably do with A bit less constant sexualisation in children’s media
Or questioning of sexuality. Why can’t they just leave it alone? They’re kids. And maybe just accepting Ernie and Bert at face value is what it’s about.

Indeed, cartoons bad, but this is just what the doctor of usless studies ordered.
I don’t know what these cartoon scolds are on about. Growing up Slowpoke Rodriguez was my idol and I turned out just fine.
What?
the Warner Brothers cartoons were not created for children
Space Jam, on the other hand, was. “Lola Bunny” is an original character created for that film. Don’t move the goalposts.
Growing up Slowpoke Rodriguez was my idol and I turned out just fine.
When Speedy was in the crosshairs a few years back I distinctly remember the commentary from (non-woke) Americans of Mexican descent being that the character was a hero to them growing up. In other words, they viewed him the same damned way every non-Mexican kid did.
Regarding scenes of exaggerated sexuality in classic cartoons, I believe they served three important purposes:
1) They clued girls into the power of femininity.
2) They clued boys into the dangers of giving into that power – i.e. making themselves into the fool.
3) They were funny.
They clued boys into the dangers of giving into that power
That was my take away from the “(literal) wolf-whistle at the babe on stage” trope. That the exaggerated reaction was funny and pathetic, not stoic and strong. IE, not something He-Man or Wolverine would do. Seeing it that trope played out by (an equally pathetic) Jim Carrey in The Mask drove the point home.
But then discussing the finer nuances of insane ideological cultists missing the point, often purposefully, is this site’s raison d’être, n’est-ce pas?
I distinctly remember the commentary from (non-woke) Americans of Mexican descent being that the character was a hero to them growing up
Fluffy joins the conversation.

Well yes, and I suppose there is some sociological connection between that and the furry phenomenon, but I was first confronted with furry paraphilia many years before the current radical LGBTQ* invasion of very young children’s education and I did wonder where these people came from since it seemed like a very improbable fetish.
I did wonder where these people came from since it seemed like a very improbable fetish.
Sorry, I though you were meaning generically. Wiki, for what is is worth, starts out saying, “The furry fandom has its roots in the underground comix movement of the 1970s, a genre of comic books that depicts explicit content.”
Frankly, I think that is a load of crap, I can’t imagine some stoner reading “Fritz The Cat” and deciding the thing to do would be to dress up like a unicorn. Regardless, the rest is worth reading
OTOH, you can See How Furries Are Just Like You*[sic].

I must say, British Royal gossip always bored me. Even the lurid end of Princess Di didn’t earn more than a few seconds perusal. But Markle and Harry? There’s some trainwrecks so spectacular even I can’t look away.
