You May Have To Squint To See It

They’re sick people.
They’re sick people.
The inversion of reality is quite a thing, and apparently well-practised. You have to wonder exactly how many moral and psychological failures it took to get there. Who educated these creatures? Who parented them?
Also, “Chaos as a complete reboot.” Because hey, that couldn’t ever go wrong.
”I did not see one protestor try to discourage the rioters..”
Why the different terms?
If these sociopaths weren’t intentionally confusing our language a distinction could indeed be made between protestors and rioters occupying the same space. However even “protestor” is inapt given how vague and sometimes ridiculous the grievances are, if you can even get a coherent listing of them in the first place.
They’re the “normal” ones. Those who see things differently are the “sick” ones. See it’s all just something you should laugh off. None of it is serious. Nothing bad will come of these things. Only good. And love. Love, love, love. It’s all you need. As I’ve had explained to me by professional psychiatrists…Doctors…Perception IS reality. Now get your racist, white privilege perceptions right. Learn how to love THE CORRECT WAY!
“This is us taking the high road. This is us trying to create a world filled with love.”
God help us if they decide to take the low road, or to create a world filled with hate. /shudder
God help us if they decide to take the low road, or to create a world filled with hate. /shudder
In order for their world to be filled with love they have to fill our world with hate. Make no mistake, we don’t live in the same world.
And love. Love, love, love.

“This is us taking the high road. This is us trying to create a world filled with love.”
And she says this while her comrades are smashing other people’s property and wrecking their livelihoods, and burning things that aren’t theirs, and gleefully degrading and terrorising anyone unfortunate enough to live nearby. And while her comrades, her fellow love-bringers, are menacing and assaulting passers-by, shooting people with pellet guns, setting nail traps for police officers, and trying to blind people with lasers. Three permanently blinded so far.
This isn’t politics. It ain’t love either. It’s sociopathy.
As we’ve seen many times, these creatures are not the oppressed or victims of injustice. By and large they’re from comfortable, middle-class backgrounds, cossetted and indoctrinated at statusful institutions, at considerable expense, and they often have quite serious personality disorders. They’re dysfunctional and degenerate, yes, perhaps irretrievably; but they ain’t downtrodden.
What they want, very much, is to down-tread you.
Oh, and according to Daniel Drezner, a professor at Tufts University, the so-called ‘protestors’ have been “goaded into violent actions” by Trump’s belated response to their violent actions – actions that had already been ongoing, quite vividly, for several weeks.
Causality is hard, you see.
This is the kind of lying tool educating other people’s children. And note similar noises from his peers, fellow educators.
That these little turds exist is not a new development. What feels new is that the media are defending them so ardently and with so little breaking of ranks. (To say nothing of all the idiot sport teams – I hope Americans have the self-respect to vote with their wallets).
When we had riots in the UK nearly a decade ago, the media and especially the BBC tried defining them as protests about the petty criminal the police shot. Then the grown-ups seemed to take over and the riots and looting were described as what they were.
I don’t know that that would happen today. Someone like Laurie Penny described the people who turned up to clean up their shattered neighbourhoods voluntarily as “fascists”. At the time she seemed isolated and foolish. Most journalists are now Laurie Penny, though.
And in the strange, unhappy mind of Amanda Marcotte, attempting to restore, even minimally, some semblance of law and order – say, to prevent federal employees being burned alive in their workplace – is actually a “fascist crackdown” against “peaceful crowds.”
An excellent Thread on the tactics used by AntiFa and, to a lesser extent, BLM
“Amanda Marcotte is a politics writer for Salon who covers American politics, feminism and culture. Her new book, “Troll Nation: How The Right Became Trump-Worshipping Monsters Set On Rat-F*cking Liberals, America, and Truth Itself” is out now.”
Clearly both stable and a genius.
An excellent Thread
So much to pick apart in there – the usual question-begging and self-congratulation – but the superior pedant in me is giggling at #14 especially:
“Statism and white supremacy must be resigned to the dustbins of history.”
“A diversity of tactics is meant to be complimentary – “
At some point, round about now, the word gaslighting seems appropriate.
But hey, the ‘protestors’ are just like normal people.
the word gaslighting seems appropriate.
They’re trying to burn down the courthouse as peacefully as possible.
That isn’t vandalism on the Courthouse. It’s decoration. You just THINK you see “F the cops” and “End America”. In reality, it is just playful squiggles by high-spirited youthful Patriots. Apologize for your hate filled thoughts. Hate makes the imagination run wild.
If I didn’t know better, I might believe that the protestor’s tactics at the Courthouse are designed to provoke a lethal reaction from a Federal officer. I don’t think they really want to destroy the Courthouse. They want to harass its defenders into a rash reaction in a moment of anger. The propaganda value of a dead Antifan “innocent peaceful protestor” far outshines images of a burning courthouse.
As I said, if I didn’t know better…
They want to harass its defenders into a rash reaction in a moment of anger.
That’s precisely what Wokal Distance discusses in the thread that Jonathan linked to. They’re putting the federal authorities in a Decision Dilemma, where they have zero good options to choose from. Either they allow the federal building to be destroyed, they sustain nightly attacks from Antifa terrorists, or they respond with force. The former options serve to make the federal authorities look weak, and the latter makes them look heavy-handed and evil. Doubly so if the terrorists can make it look like the feds fired upon the “Wall of Moms” or the “Wall of Vets.”
It works remarkably well, largely because they have a sympathetic news media on their side to help them craft the message they want the public to absorb. One can only imagine what the situation would be like if we didn’t have a few independent reporters willing to go into the mess each night to record the riots directly. Little wonder that people like Ngo (and poor random locals who vaguely resemble him) face such violent reaction from the rioters.
What surprises me is that we’ve seen little evidence of infiltration of their ranks. It’s one thing when the rioting is limited to a day or two like what we saw in the Twin Cities, but this nonsense in Portland has been ongoing for eight weeks. You’d think that the authorities would send in some ‘eager new recruits’ to give them an inside look at plans and tactics. Hell, I’m honestly surprised that 4Chan hasn’t put a few people in there just for shits and giggles. How much fun could they have sending in a fumble-fingered zealot who ‘accidentally’ drops or throws his Molotov cocktails into crowds of Antifans, while another helpful soul records it all?
I can only guess that the organizers have pretty good security measures in place that require more than eight weeks of probationary status before a volunteer is trusted with anything valuable. Yet another hint that we’re dealing with something much more sinister than run-of-the-mill rock-throwers here.
They left always talks about the “high road” and “getting dirty” against Republicans and the right. If anything they’ve always been so deep in the gutter that they don’t know which is way is up.
The reaction of Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer is truly astonishing.
He is insisting, both off and on the record, that reports of rioting are just a hoax.
OT: The shooting of the judge’s family (the judge recently assigned to the Deutche Bank Epstein case) has slipped into the memory hole. One would think a vocal MRA lawyer murderer would be juicy clickbait for the fear mongers, especially since the “facts” fit the desired narrative so well. Old (72) white guy whose activism has provided a wealth of “misogynist” rants that would launch 1000 thinkpieces on “Trump’s America” etc? That’s easy money for the MSM, no?
Strikes me as very odd in the same way that America’s worst mass shooting (using the most politically charged weaponry and committed by another old white guy to boot) was not used as political fodder as such tragedies almost always are.
The Left media will tote whatever water is required of them, but I think “they” chose a patsy the Right would be loathe to talk about given his politics so the sundering of the story would be easier than normal. Either that or a man who dedicated his life to the easing of the societal burden placed on males up and decided to only murder the male relatives of a judge who just so happens to sit on a case involving the world’s most corrupt bank and Jefferey Epstein. Coin flip, really.
Very much related.
At some point, round about now, the word gaslighting seems appropriate.
Mostly peaceful protests – apart from that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?
“This makes no sense until you consider that a proper virtue signal needs a self-discrediting calamity to signal against.”
Orwell presented crimestop and doublethink as bland, attention-shunning evasions by party officials trying not to be noticed as clever or aware. But this kind of crimestop – standing in front of a burning building and saying it’s all quiet here – is a performance. Contrary facts don’t break the narrative, they present career opportunities to whoever can escalate the brazen denials.

Paraphrasing Palahniuk, Big Brother isn’t watching; he is dancing and singing.

Truly, the Democrat Party has embraced fascism.
In the sci-fi novel “Fire in a faraway place”, a peaceful protest was broken up by spraying a mixture of bright blue dye that stained the skin and (essentially) skunk oil upon the protesters.
That would excessive for peaceful protesters here (and only the peaceful ones), but the vermin attempting to blow up, burn, blind, and crush skulls should get that treatment. The combination of dye and skunk smell would make it easier to find them later on.
Even though I’m getting to the “HE quick, 5 rounds, fire for effect” view of the world for these rioters.

O most pernicious woman! / O villain, villain, smiling, damnèd villain!
It’s the cheerfully witless smile on her avatar’s face as she sets about trying to create a world filled with love that gets me.
It’s the cheerfully witless smile on her avatar’s face
And the line, “With a Black woman on the hood of her car.” As if the fact that a narcissistic, racist, power-intoxicated mob has surrounded your car and is now clambering onto it, intent on dominating you, is some obvious basis for calm and reassurance, rather than, say, alarm and wanting to get the hell away from these preening, spiteful lunatics.
a narcissistic, racist, power-intoxicated mob [ … ] intent on dominating you
Just so.
As Miss Clark’s Tweet demands, somewhat tellingly:
Find this white woman
Not “Find this woman” – which to be sure would not be much of an improvement – but “Find this white woman”.
It seems evident that Clark is using the racial modifier as all the proof one might need for any and all accusations that might follow (however absurd) and cause enough to track her down and expose her to yet more intimidation and violence from The Hands of the Righteous.
Savonarola’s Florence fairly pales in comparison.
Oh, related, also this, for which unfortunately I don’t know the context (although I’m not altogether sure how much that would matter to the main point in this case).
Not “Find this woman” – which to be sure would not be much of an improvement – but “Find this white woman”.
Despite her theatre of piety, Ms Clark is just another nasty, racist bitch who likes scaring people, and hurting them. A bully. I think we should be clear on that.
In situations like the one above, the victim, the target, has no way of knowing whether the mob surrounding them, harassing them, menacing them, and gleefully breaking the law, is merely a bunch of unspanked narcissists, or includes actual sociopaths intent on mortal harm. Or whether one may blur into the other at very little notice. To not strongly entertain the latter possibility, and act accordingly, seems foolish, to say the least.
It does seem like the unspanked narcissists are providing cover for the actual sociopaths by using Motte and Bailey-style tactics. Is that out of fear or supposed common cause?
That would excessive for peaceful protesters here…
The “peaceful protesters” in Portland are complicit in the violence.
I love Ms Marcotte’s description of the rioters attacking the Federal building: ‘a bunch of young people setting off fireworks and spray-painting buildings’. The Fourth of July* plus a bit of Banksy – how charming.
Is that out of fear or supposed common cause?
Common cause. As described in the thread I linked to above, the tactics they use are well planned and deliberate. The ‘ Peaceful Protesters’ provide cover for the violence and a shield for the violent.
Huh, forgot the footnote.
*Not that these gentry would celebrate the Fourth of July. Perhaps the Fourteenth of July would be more appropriate.
The ‘Peaceful Protesters’ provide cover for the violence and a shield for the violent.
And yet Ms Clark seems to exist in some weird moral universe in which people should simply comply with attempts to menace and bully them – and even prioritise the wellbeing of the screeching little shits doing the bullying. While being bullied.
What’re the words I’m after? Oh yes. Hard pass.
I love Ms Marcotte’s description of the rioters attacking the Federal building: ‘a bunch of young people setting off fireworks and spray-painting buildings’
Am I wrong to want this to happen to her?
Savonarola’s Florence fairly pales in comparison.
I actually enjoyed The Borgias.
I’m not even sorry.
Is it just me or does the barkeep’s mood seem a bit sharper these days? If that particular stiff upper lip is turning into a menacing snarl I fear for British antifa, knowing full well the verve and malicious glee the Henchlesbians take in their grisly commission.
Also, Borgias was great camp fun. The Micheletto character in particular.

Shame it ended prematurely, in a bit of a rush. I rather miss the plotting and scheming and scandalous romping.

Thanks Gran! This new jumper does the trick!
Is it just me or does the barkeep’s mood seem a bit sharper these days?
[ From the cellar, raised voices, sounds of tearful children. ]
Feed them ONCE a day, I said. ONCE. How will they fit through the ventilation shaft NOW?
Please sir, may I have more gruel?
I’m not even sorry.
Nor should you be!
Cigar?
Cigar?
“Ah, we’re on fire.”
“You’ve come all the way back from our ancestral homeland to bring us turds?”
OK, off to re-watch with the Mrs…
That’s been languishing on my hard drive for some time. Clearly it needs to be moved up in the queue.
In a similar vein, I’ve been enjoying Sleepy Hollow but as a Canadian I am completely lost in many of the Revolutionary War references. Can one of our American posters recommend a decent one-volume history of the period, preferably one not tainted by wokeness? Note that I minored in Classical Studies and I read things like Gibbons’ unabridged Decline and Fall for fun, so length and depth are not impediments.
“ Either they allow the federal building to be destroyed, they sustain nightly attacks from Antifa terrorists, or they respond with force.”
I think there is a better option. Use a couple of those trucks that pump a high pressure stream at rioters
But instead of that, fill the tanks with something like 50-50 dish soap/water combination. Then, when the peaceful rioting begins, give them a thorough coating with the slippery stuff.
Should be fun to watch.
Foam parties were a thing once, weren’t they?
Either they allow the federal building to be destroyed, they sustain nightly attacks from Antifa terrorists, or they respond with force.
Must make note to self on calendar: Nov. 4, buy more popcorn to enjoy while watching Federal LEO actions under ‘New, Improved with more Vitamins’ Rules of Engagement against ‘peaceful protesters’. Such as sniper to engage molotov cocktail throwers, and laser users, etc. Plus maybe a couple of companies worth of LEO’s to surround and arrest every one of the rioters. And indictments for terroristic acts, so no bail.
The Feds cannot presently allow *any* use of force in retaliation to provide a ’cause celebre’ or worse, a martyr which the crazies could use against the executive. That problem will be resolved on November 3, *either way*. If Trump loses, the LEO’s can just let loose their frustrations on having been restrained. If Trump loses, the Leos can… but I repeat myself.
