Is Elephant Gerald The Other Half? (Hi, Mr. Half! ✋🏽
I don’t think so, Pogo. The Other Half did make one memorable visit to these parts, I seem to recall. I’d link it but it’s lost in the mists of cyberspace.

David opens with two of a kind . . .
Whew. For a minute there I feared he’d disappeared into the Mists of Cyberspace, never to be seen again. Glad he’s still about the place.
On everything and nothing.
That’s a great documentary. Two hours well spent.
Morning, all.
David opens with two of a kind…
I think the woman was trying to eat live octopus on TV. Evidently, the creature had other ideas.
That’s a great documentary. Two hours well spent.
In terms of pacing and structure, it’s certainly one of the better ones, I think.
Is Elephants Gerald The Other Half?
Yes.
William Heath Robinson
That’s wonderful.

WTF is wrong with people?
Assorted charts.
Maths is hard. 🙂
Maths is hard. 🙂
Given that the ladies’ ambition – and the purpose of the chart – is to “educate everyone on the insecurities that height can cause,” the disproportion is quite funny.

Included in my pile of projects on the theme of I want to poke at this in detail and see what turns up in detail, is the project of digging into the math and such of a steady state spherical universe.
WTF is wrong with people?
There are too many people in desperate need of attention and that’s the source of a disproportionate percentage of problems.
That question goes back to when the first caveman had developed enough language to stck his head out the door of the cave one day and think,” You know., there’s got to be more to life than this.”
Douglas Murray, here.
The answer is not wypipo, the answer is Continental Drip.

As every school
boyperson knows, north is up, and south is down. It can plainly be seen, and as illustrated below, the continents are dripping down, Central America and Florida from North America (we are hoping the latter drips all the way to Antarctica), India from Asia, Australia is dripping at both ends, Italy from Europe, and of course South America and Africa have large drips from the northern main mass, and so on.QED.
In other news, the future of Salon is looking doubtful.
Can’t imagine why.
north is up, and south is down
And cartography had been dominated by a sinister cabal of Greenland supremacists, until a courageous band of educators showed the world the truth – “When Boston public schools introduced a new standard map of the world this week, some young students’ felt their jaws drop. In an instant, their view of the world had changed.” Not sure if that happened, but it would certainly be a scene in the powerful, inspiring film adaptation of the article.
The intention is to undermine the cultural confidence of Europeans who think that their way is the norm, sometimes because they’re ethnocentric, which is racist when Europeans do it, and sometimes because Europeans conquered the world and set its global norms. But it’s a mistake in terms of of the bigger goal of demographically replacing wypipo. For that purpose, it’s a good thing if Mercator-deluded Europeans don’t get the feeling yet of being small, peripheral, and fragile – they should believe for a decade or two more at least that their gigantic continent has plenty of room for the rest of the world put together.
Honk honk, as the kids say.

Now police don’t have to be ‘fit or strong’? On a scale of 1-10 how f*cked is this country?
The crowds at the Brexit Party’s rallies do not seem especially fearful. Nor do they seem especially enraged. An honest analysis would rather surmise that they seem to be comprised of ordinary people expressing a wholly justifiable concern that for the first time in British democratic history, the vote we cast in 2016 appears not to be accepted by the dominant political class.
See: how the TEA Party participants were covered in media and how the IRS was instructed to treat them.
Also: The further reveal of the attempted coup against Trump.
Now police don’t have to be ‘fit or strong’?
It’s like the sexist trope of firemen rushing into burning buildings.
On a scale of 1-10 how f*cked is this country?
Readers may have seen various YouTube and Twitter videos of small female police officers being easily overpowered and laughed at by burly lawbreakers. The frequency of such interactions and the circulation of such footage seem likely to have unhappy consequences, not least in terms of demoralising both the public and the police, and encouraging more of the same. Hiring police officers who are physically unable to enforce lawfulness, even in pairs, or even in threes, and who are openly mocked by criminal thugs, is, shall we say, suboptimal.
But apparently, it’s more important to have women “in every role,” at “fifty percent,” because people mustn’t “see policing as primarily a male-dominated job.”
Again, honk.
Don’t Kwai for me.
Octoliciuosly tentacular!
Octopi are invertebrates and thus underrated, but they have excellent brains and can be ingenious problem solvers.
They spend 0% of their time thinking about global warming, transgenderism, or Prince Harry and Megan.
In the previous thread, Daniel said,

Sugar cloud coffee.
All this time my company has been trying to develop the perfect dispensers when we could have just hung the damn product and let gravity do the work, huh?

Why is it that chic technology is always a step backwards? Watch, you’ll see carbon fiber spit-roasters sold as “organic open air grilling implements” or someshit.
Re Salon headlines:
And that’s just the articles written by Brittney Cooper. 😄
I used to read Salon over lunch because it was one of the few sites our antiquated browsers would pick up. Then they hired Brittney. I went back to bringing a book for lunch.
Here we can see a truck spreading homosexuality.
Does this mean Alex Jones gets his media platforms back?
Dave Cullen spots yet another illustration.
Oof that was rough, and that’s going in with low expectations. Hopefully this female swap gimmick will eventually play out, like spaghetti westerns and blaxploitation films. The genre is producing such utter schlock that I’m beginning to think it’s actually anti-feminists making content to besmirch the movement.
For instance, I assumed as Gurl Power Lesbian Batman she would build her own batcave in a studio apartment or something, program all her own tech, make her suit so it would have no hint of sexuality, etc. But instead, the trailer shows her just fucking taking Batman’s cave, demanding her safe beta token butler do all tailoring work on Batman’s suit, and using frying pans to subdue ONE baddy. This is empowering? Boldly following the trail blazed by a man while spouting pure go-grrrl cringe with basic bitch femrock blasting?
Hopefully this female swap gimmick
It’s not quite that. Batwoman has been around for quite some time in the DC Universe. This iteration appears to bear as much resemblance to the comics as the CW Titans show does to the source material, though (Starfire was cheesecake in the comics, but she was powerful and in control of her sexuality. Making her an angry black hooker seems…a step backward.)
I’m beginning to think it’s actually anti-feminists making content to besmirch the movement
Yes, that’s my working theory.
Alternatively,
Bloody wireless keyboard.
Alternatively, it’s just that when you write feminist heroines exactly the way feminists say you ought, the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the entire ethos becomes too glaring to ignore.

Excellent point. And thanks for chiming in – the Daniel Ream signal I lit was beginning to overheat.
I don’t get the one about the truck spreading homosexuality. What’s the joke?

Winston Churchill, who managed to get through a depression (worldwide), a depression (his own) and a war without bursting into tears in front of his constituents, must be turning in his grave.
“What’s the joke?”
The rainbow.
I assumed as Gurl Power Lesbian Batman she would build her own batcave in a studio apartment or something.
One of the standing subject tags at smalldeadanimals.com is “If women ruled the world we’d still be living in caves…but with really nice curtains.”
As Cullen points out, she breaks into Bruce Wayne’s bat cave, steals his technology and then rages about a man taking credit. Well yeah, the politics of envy and anger is a big part of RadFem™.
He was rightly classified as a man.
Not according to reality.
“It will be perfect when it fits a woman” and “the future is female”:
Change that to “when it fits a white person” and “the future is Aryan” and the depravity of the politics should be clear, with two provisos: (1) we should all be able to see this without the word-switching, and (2) feminists will still not understand.

Nic Rider, a transgender health specialist and psychologist at the University of Minnesota, said training isn’t enough.
“There are implicit biases that need to be addressed,” Rider said.
I want to throat punch old Nic there (and I note “Nic” identifies as a ‘they’ so the doctor needs his/her own therapist).. this isn’t about bias, it’s about biology. Only females give birth and there is no rational reason why this female’s actual sex wasn’t on her chart.
Things get crazier every day. It has to end—soon, I hope.

Don’t know about that but I’m quite certain he was literally a man. IYKWIM.

As always, what’s striking is the casual arrogance, the sense of entitlement. As if even the idea of normal consequences were somehow outrageous. It doesn’t seem an optimal way to go through life. I live near a campus and therefore see plenty of things I don’t care for, ranging from the merely dumb to the morally deranged; but I don’t feel that I should therefore be free to steal or destroy someone else’s property, and then lie to the police, and do it all with impunity.
