The New Rules
Everything is racist. Just confess, for God’s sake.
[ Added, via the comments: ]So, to summarise. If you dismiss people based solely on their skin colour, that’s racist. But if you don’t dismiss people based solely on their skin colour, that’s racist too. Having a family dinner on Columbus Day is an act of “covert white supremacy,” and loaning money to people who are likely to repay you, as opposed to those who aren’t, is also racist and proof of “white supremacy.” If you have reservations about unlimited immigration, that’s racist. If you suggest that non-white people can be racist, that’s racist. If you fail to be outraged by so-called “cultural appropriation,” that’s racist. And if you dare to argue that you aren’t in fact racist, that’s racist too.
Oh, and if you don’t instantly believe whatever a brown-skinned person says, anything at all, however improbable – including the demented conspiracy theories of one Dr Dwight Turner – then obviously you’re seething with “unconscious racism.”
The paper in question, by Dwight Turner at the University of Brighton, can be found here.
Dr Turner’s research uses “creative techniques such as drawing and sand play.”

It’s social science!
It’s social science!
So remember.

Keep it by your bedside, to aid continual fretting.
But don’t forget, the rules and definitions can change at any moment. So fret about that too.
The way this is going, if you’re going to be found guilty anyway, why not get hung for the actual sheep rather than the imaginary lamb?
why not get hung for the actual sheep rather than the imaginary lamb?
As noted here a while ago, that’s an odd thing to say, given the context.
Here’s one for the SJWs. Depending on the source you consult, blacks are about 12-18% of the U. S. population; depending on where you live, they’re 0-100% of the local population. For ease of figuring, let’s arbitrarily say 15% of the people any individual white knows are black. So I know, again for ease of figuring, 100 people, 15 of whom are black. (This is pretty close to the actual number of people I know, though in real life the ethnic distribution is more like 40/50/10 black/white/other).
Now we move to the subset of “people Pogonip knows whom she would trust to help manage Son’s affairs after she’s dead.” There are 8 of those. 5 of them are black.
SJWs, how am I racist?
This.

The “University of Brighton” is just the Brighton Poly with a pretentious new name, courtesy of Mr A L Blair.
When I was at Sussex (in less inclusive days, when students had to, you know, exhibit some sort of academic aptitude, no matter how feeble or inchoate) the Poly was a bit of a joke. It had a chip on its shoulder about its neighbour up the road at Falmer.
So chips on shoulders and Brighton Poly go together. This Turner fellow is plainly a complete arse. The fact that he is black has nothing to do with his academic findings, of course. Or rather than “findings”, perhaps one should say “opinions”.
“And if you dare to argue that you aren’t in fact racist, that’s racist too.”
It’s like living in a world of maladjusted 5-year-olds, except these 5-year-olds want the government to compel you to comply (and amazingly, they are having some success).
What they’re really after is this:
.
An item missing from the top of the pyramid is “Discusses and/or ridicules The Pyramid.”
On viewing The Pyramid the correct response is to tilt one’s head to the side while touching the chin and uttering “Hmmmm. Yes. Yes.”
OTOH: It is nice to see that some white supremacy is (still) socially acceptable.
Thanks for that, Dr Turner.
On Sociology.
I knew a guy who was going for a PhD in sociology. For his comps he was given the task of answering the question: “What is Sociology?”
He looked up the answer in a dictionary and could not understand why he flunked out of the program.
Later, he got an EdD.
Explains a lot
Dr Turner’s research uses “creative techniques such as drawing and sand play.
Sand… pyramids…
Cultural appropriation or methodology?
SJWs, how am I racist?
You’re a wypipo. QED.
“What is Sociology?”
Baby don’t hurt me.
(Of course, it doesn’t scan very well….)
What they’re really after is this
Let’s just say it would unwise to allow such creatures to have any kind of leverage over you, or over anyone you care about.
“Paternalism”?
Even the diagram makes no sense. Why are some of the things outside the pyramid?
Why are some of the things outside the pyramid?
Racist!
Why are some of the things outside the pyramid?
Because competence with even simple graphics is almost certainly racist.
“And if you dare to argue that you aren’t in fact racist, that’s racist too.”
Kafkatrapping: http://esr.ibiblio.org/?p=2122
“He is contactable via his website …”
Is it racist of me to point out he should have written “he may be contacted …”?
The only winning move . . .
I far prefer the Fifty Dollar Pyramid to this one.
I had to look up wypipo. It’s not a term you hear in the rural environs of Huntingdonshire, England. Mind you, I live a sheltered life. Is that racist? Probably is in some casually insultingly micro-aggressive way.
why not get hung for the actual sheep rather than the imaginary lamb?
As noted here a while ago, that’s an odd thing to say, given the context.
OK, I get your point*, but I can’t be the only one who reads SJW bullshit – which is no more than anti-white racism – and thinks, well, if your plan is to fuck me over, there seems no logic in me doing anything other than trying to fuck you over first. With extreme prejudice. Why try to be reasonable with people who have no intentions save bad intentions?
*which is made more pertinent on that previous thread by the loony raving about Jews immediately below your comment
OK, I get your point*,
Well, the obvious implication – i.e., that if you’re going to be accused of racism anyway, you might as well be racist – is a little… odd.
Why try to be reasonable with people who have no intentions save bad intentions?
I wouldn’t try to be reasonable in the sense of hoping to persuade them. Ideologues, sociopaths and people who argue in bad faith aren’t generally susceptible to such things. And I tend to avoid personal contact with people fitting that description. But if there’s a third party, an audience, it can sometimes be useful to reveal the kind of creature your opponent is, and the tricks of their trade. And that’s more likely to be achieved if you retain control, rather than flailing wildly. (See, for instance, various interviews with Jordan Peterson, in which the interviewers have often revealed more than they intended, i.e., about themselves.)
We’d better give them everything they want or they’ll call us names. And fart in our general direction.
I don’t think any of us are champing at the bit to let our inner racists run riot. It’s probably instructive to replace “racist” with “offensive” in this case. If I’m going to be called privileged or racist or sexist or whatever regardless of how much I try to be polite, then I’ve no incentive to make the effort. And yes, that generally means that I end up demanding that my counterparts defend their baseless assertions, and pointing out their bad-faith arguments, and pushing their shallow policies to their logical (and catastrophic) conclusions.
And if it gets me uninvited to future gatherings of such creatures, that’s a consequence I can live with.
If I’m going to be called privileged or racist or sexist or whatever regardless of how much I try to be polite, then I’ve no incentive to make the effort.
Oh, yes. Fair enough. Faced with many of the examples we’ve seen here over the years, it would be hard to be honest while avoiding any mention of narcissism, sociopathy and such.
Honesty is so underappreciated in these benighted times.
“SJWs, how am I racist?”
If you have to ask we can’t explain it to you.
Somewhat related as all things are racist and sexist.
As the lady says, Reject leftism, even if it’s just for the sake of the clothes.
Seriously, tee-shirt and jeans, that has been “unisex” for decades, as have various other suits and whatnot, even if the women’s versions are actually not because of the fact they are shaped differently (most, anyway), and just as making the world conform to the 1% of malcontents and clinically insane is not the answer, the answer isn’t putting men (genetically, anyway) in dresses is not the answer either.
Is there nothing these loons won’t leave alone ?
Western feminists aren’t helping…

“Just confess, for God’s sake.”
The danger is, surely, that people will.
When a word – racist – is used so frequently, and for so little real cause, it loses all meaning. People shrug. People accept. It ceases to have power. We are all racist mow, according to someone, and so it means nothing.
Heather MacDonald adroitly demonstrates the illogic of the regressives…

While the Strong I ndependent Women (TM) are whining about Trump, racism, and microaggressions, this lady in Georgia is literally fighting off rabid bobcats barehanded.

I don’t know why the headline says “possibly” rabid. The bobcat tested positive for rabies and the lady’s getting rabies shots.

It’s lunacy.
It’s lunacy.
Well, you have to marvel at how, say, the diagram above* doesn’t seem to have been challenged or rejected as absurd by Dr Turner’s peers or supervisors. Apparently, this is the standard of scholarship now. It’s “applied social science.” And these ideas, these emphatic convictions, aren’t just accidentally wrong. They’re wrong in order to foster endless resentment and neurotic prostration. The scolding is the prize, it’s status too, and jobs for the scolders, and so it must never end.
This is what happens when the left builds a nest in academia.
*Incidentally, the diagram isn’t the creation of Dr Turner, but he affirms it as self-evidently correct. Again, this is his idea of what constitutes scholarship.
It’s lunacy.
Just to add a little 110 octane to the lunacy pyre…
Also, if you will, consider donating to the bobcat-attack victim.

Re: “it’s lunacy”:

But what matters to me is not whether it’s true or not, but that I believe it to be true, or rather not that I believe it, but that I believe it.

oh, and re the Volk article,
Chile (no blacks) … are miserable shit-holes
Dicentra? Really?
The bits of Chile I’ve been to are fine. Certainly finer than, say, the bits of Spain that are inflicted with British chav and pretending-to-chavness “thugaday-makers”. Okay, the pollution in Santiago is a bit rancid, but then LA? Valparaiso, for a port city inflicted with a naval base, is lovely. And Viña del Mar is sufficiently far away for the drunken matelot (auto-corrected to matzot – that’s that damned international Zionist conspiracy for you!) to stagger to be lovely full stop.
Bits of it are horrid. But then we once walked back from the Capitol to the Willard via slightly too far into the north of the partially drained rancid swamp that you let the French build your capital on …
—Sir Thomas More, in A Man For All Seasons.
It must be appalling for St Sir Thomas More that all his best sayings are actually from a play written about him, rather than written or said by him.
Criticas,
Kafkatrapping
Even though she(*) admitted she had no idea what it meant, a rather large and melanin-enhanced womyn on Twitter rather forcefully declared “kafkatrapping” to be a “white thing” and therefore extremely raycisst.
I’m quite certain it was posted here a couple of years ago.
(*I’m assuming her gender, but I could be wrong. Don’t care. If the resident sophist wants to post links “proving” me wrong, don’t care.)
The scolding is the prize, it’s status too, and jobs for the scolders, and so it must never end.
The Maoist struggle sessions are not a means to an end, but the end in and of itself, in other words?
If you laugh, even smile, you’re a very bad person.
Makes you wonder why it is that tickets were so hard to sell.

“The Maoist struggle sessions are not a means to an end, but the end in and of itself, in other words?”
The purpose of terror is not to establish and safeguard a utopian reform: its purpose is to empower terrorists.
The bits of Chile I’ve been to are fine.
Never been to Chile, but the Chileans I have met don’t give the impression it is a shit hole.
As usual, do people want to get in or out, that’s the real test: https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/amid-record-numbers-arrivals-chile-turns-rightward-immigration
No surprise that Haitians want to get there, as Haiti is pretty much the definition of a shithole. However I was surprised to see that Argentinians prefer it.
Wait, what???
https://www.redstate.com/alexparker/2018/06/15/sabastion-stark-transgender-birth/
“No surprise that Haitians want to get there…”
From that link:
“Meanwhile, low-skilled migrants, according to this proposal, would push more Chileans, particularly women, into the skilled workforce.”
By what magical process was that supposed to work? By that sort of “thinking” a doubling of the number of ghetto kids in my school would have transformed me from a competent physicist into Nobel Prize material.
However I was surprised to see that Argentinians prefer it.
More proof that, alone among authoritarian dictators, Pinochet left his country better off than when he started.
(Originally heard that from a guy who’s wife’s family was on Alende’s “kill list”, and narrowly escaped being rounded up by the communist street thugs, so there might be a bit of personal bias there.)
“…a guy who’s wife’s family was on Alende’s “kill list”…”
Un-possible! All my democratic socialist friends assure me that Allende was a saint.
Related. Testimony of Bret Weinstein of Evergreen State College before Congress.
Pinochet wasn’t an economic disaster, true.
It doesn’t follow from that he was good.
He didn’t need to stay in power for 17 years to stop Allende.
If I was picking dictators who improved a country, I think the Lee Kwan Yew model is better than the Pinochet one.
Testimony of Bret Weinstein of Evergreen State College before Congress.
Thanks for that. See today’s post.
More proof that, alone among authoritarian dictators, Pinochet left his country better off than when he started.
Sooner or later, everyone comes around to the helicopter idea.
“Pinochet wasn’t an economic disaster, true.
It doesn’t follow from that he was good.”
No, but sometimes the only choices are “bad” and “worse”.
Actually, scratch that. The choices are usually “bad” and “worse”. In 1970s Chilé, they were “awful” and “absolutely bloody terrible”.
“He didn’t need to stay in power for 17 years to stop Allende.”
Not Allende himself. But his followers, his ideas… maybe. I don’t know. I wasn’t there. But I can certainly understand how it might take almost that long to get the country back on its feet to the extent that, once you do hold free elections, the people don’t all troop out and vote for another nutcase purely because he shouted the loudest against you.
Well, the obvious implication – i.e., that if you’re going to be accused of racism anyway, you might as well be racist – is a little… odd.
If you’re talking about racism in the sense of putting on a white hood and burning crosses is people’s front gardens, then sure. On the other hand, I could perfectly well imagine someone thinking “Well, no matter how much effort I put in trying to understand people from different cultures and make allowances for different cultural outlooks I still get called a white supremacist Nazi, so I guess in future I’ll just save myself the hassle and only associate with people like myself.”
In the long run, though, I think the danger is less people feeling free to unleash their inner racist, and more people feeling compelled to. After all, if the left get their way and turn society into a feuding mess of racial interest groups where the nosiest and most aggrieved group automatically wins, the only real options are “form your own noisy and aggrieved interest group” or “get screwed over”.
After all, if the left get their way and turn society into a feuding mess of racial interest groups where the nosiest and most aggrieved group automatically wins, the only real options are “form your own noisy and aggrieved interest group” or “get screwed over”.
I think the growth in open White Supremacists is a delayed effect of the diversity movement. So long as the Powers That Be continue to promote “diversity” there will be a steady increase in them.
