Friday Ephemera
This thing here. (h/t, dicentra) || I’m assuming that what we’re looking at isn’t food preparation. || A pleasing tense. || “Who would have known playing God could have such terrible consequences?” (h/t, Elephants Gerald) || Bridge Constructor Portal is a game. || Police dog entrances of note. || Liquor store parking. || Snow labyrinth. || Papa’s person is ringing; a mystery unfolds. || So many questions. || For 96 minutes. || Augmented climbing. || Making soap by hand. || “The highest standards of scholarly peer review.” || She does this better than you do. || Video title of note. || Tweeted riposte of note. || Underwater hiking trail, Brazil. || One More Brick is also a game. || This is one of these. || And finally, Dinosaur, a short film by Nathan, aged four, with a little help from his dad.
A painful lesson in biology.
This Town ain’t big enough for the both of Us
We’re reaching levels of wokeness previously thought impossible:
Stonewall withdraws from Pride in London over ‘lack of diversity’
It’s almost as if the wheels are coming off the clown car.
Stonewall withdraws from Pride in London over ‘lack of diversity’…
I see, ignoring the fact that there is no reason given why people of color (but not colored people) didn’t show up at the regular festival in scientifically calculated proportions to the population in general sufficient to appease the racial bean counters, we’ll support “diversity” by excluding cracker ass honkey mofos at a different festival.
Makes sense to me.
Ha, I knew you’d post the gif of the kid with the dove.
You say dove. That kid thinks protein. I’ve seen that look before.
re: Stonewall. Perhaps they should engage in more outreach to the British Islamic community, because Diversity!
Though if they do so I’d advise our host to avoid the festivities (assuming he doesn’t already).
Librarians discover new subatomic hate particle. Or something.
This is insanity, isn’t it? Literal insanity.
These are the people who posture as our intellectual and moral betters.
I’m going to have a permanent bruise on my forehead from head-desk reactions to all the [fill in scatological terms of choice] publicly displayed lately.
Yes, you see, the difference in the bullet velocity causes the handgun rounds to cancel out. It’s simple math, you science denier…
AR: 3251 FPS
Pistol: 1200 FPS

3252 – 1200 = 2152, carry the ∏, square root of √^∞.
∴ AR bullet is still travelling at 2152 FPS while pistol bullet has stopped. QED.
WHAT!! Is that a SQUARE ROOT GUN SYMBOL I SEE THERE!!
someone fetch the fainting couch …
This is insanity, isn’t it?
It does rather suggest that there isn’t nearly enough filing and dusting being done.
You say dove. That kid thinks protein.

Birdy num num!
It seems to me that a problem with converting the sun into a binary star system is that the narrator also introduced some momentum to the system that wasn’t there before. Thus the tendency of the binary star system to wander away from the planets, making Winnipeg even more uninhabitable than it is now.
What would happen, however, if the narrator introduced a sun companion such that the two stars together had zero momentum relative to the planets? That might keep things stable — for a while.
@Killer Marmot
I think you’re right. There’s another simulation without all the cool graphics where you start with the star/stars and build outward. (It may have been one of David’s links, now that I think about it.) The “wobble” in the system is based on the planets already being there. Start with the stars and wobble decreases and becomes manageable.
Unless I’m full of of shit.*
*I know. Per Instapundit, embrace the power of “and.”
Found it.
‘In spite of all the above and me admittedly enjoying it at the time, I don’t recommend sleeping with your boss for obvious reasons. When things were good they were really good. When things were bad they became really bad. The whole affair was over within two months.’
From the pages of MamaMia, not unlike flicking through the stories section of Penthouse magazine I guess.

Black female student at NYU is embarrassed about being black … has black cooks fired.
Thanks, Darleen. A short post seemed in order.
She knew that, one day, her daughter would protect her:

Jonathan,
That motherly instinct told her that her weave being dry is more important than the child.
Oh, you’d better believe that. She will “knock yo ass down” if you try to argue with her about it.
There are priorities . . .

If things continue as they seem to be of late, it will turn out that the system isn’t nearly as stable as thought; i.e., gravity isn’t the thing. “Dark matter” looks to have suffered a fatal blow too, it seems, (the upside of which is that some sanity returns to cosmology).

Oh! When did that happen? Details for Googlemancy?
