Miss Dainty Herself™ has certainly fashioned a look that, from a distance, would make assuming gender a dicey endeavour and far from a sure thing. But she and the broader “social justice” contingent don’t seem overly concerned with reciprocity. Hence the convenient if unobvious distinction between Miss Dainty’s property rights, which are unassailable, and those of of everyone else, which, again conveniently, are not.

So, is it a guy pretending to be a woman, who’s affecting a butch lesbian? I’m so confused. And that’s before we get to his/her/its thoughts on private property.

The lie we were told as kids was this: The end of American liberty would come at the hands of the political right.
Conservatives would take away our right to speak our minds, and use the power of government to silence dissent. The right would intimidate our teachers and professors, and coerce the young.
And then, with the universities in thrall, with control of the apparatus of the state (and the education bureaucracy), the right would have dominion over a once-free people.
Some of us were taught this in school. Others, who couldn’t be bothered to read books, were fed a cartoon version of the diabolical conservative in endless movies and TV shows. The most entertaining of these were science fiction, sometimes with vague references to men in brown shirts and black boots goose-stepping in some future time.
Women would become handmaids, subjugated and turned into breeders. And men would be broken as well. The more lurid fantasies offered armies of Luddites in hooded robes, hunting down subversives for the greater good.
But the lie is obvious now, isn’t it?
Because it is not conservatives who coerced today’s young people or made them afraid of ideas that challenge them. Conservatives did not shame people into silence, or send thugs out on college campuses to beat down those who wanted to speak.
The left did all that.
It’s there in front of you, the thuggish mobs of the left killing free speech at American universities. The thugs call themselves antifas, for anti-fascists.
They beat people up and break things and set fires and intimidate. These are not anti-fascists. These are fascists. This is what fascists do.

Some liberals also have seen their careers ruined by mob rule. Those two professors at Yale, a husband and wife, come to mind. She told Yale students not to worry if some other student wore a sombrero as a Halloween costume, that there were more important things to worry about than political correctness and a student wearing a sombrero.
But a Yale student, a woman, a minority, screamed in response, weeping in hideous self-indulgent theatrics captured on video. And all of this caught fire on the internet and sparked the virtual mob on social media. The professors, the husband and wife, with decent records and obvious care for the intellectual development of their students, were shamed out of Yale.
And all educators across the country took note.

There are some amusing comments on Handmaid over at Arse Technica. People point out that ISIS are doing this right now, and they’re not noted for personal liberty and property rights and then this happens: “Given that Hitler was rightist…” Time for another cleansing flood, Lord.

There does seem to be an element of role-play, of acting out an expected part, badly and with evident discomfort. If Miss Dainty Herself™ is in fact transgender, I don’t think the role of intolerant leftwing activist is an obvious path to happiness.

Why do these college republicans just take this? I mean, yes I know why, because they’re scared of the law.

They don’t fear the law, they are using non-violent resistance and making the leftist nuts look terrible as a result. If they were to actually tear that poor confused child a new one they would instantly become the aggressors and would lose any sympathy to be gained from moderates.

I explicitly stated there was no immediate need for physical violence but a much more serious confrontation was definitely warranted.
Therein lies the rub. Any of these incidents when taken alone is insignificant. Together however they take on a more insidious meaning. I’ve no doubt that if given a black mask and the opportunity, the protagonist above would gladly pepper spray someone or swing a bike lock at someone’s face. While I agree, the Left would undoubtedly cast any more robust response as an “overreaction,” but so be it. We’ve reached the point where there is really no other choice. The Left as deliberately removed all other options and relies solely on the restraint of its opponents. Unless the Left is disabused of the notion that anything it does will be met appeals to decorum, then the rest of us should just surrender the field now.

And along with Daesh there is equally the Word of Faith Fellowship and Warren Jeffs, et al, and prolly rather a few others of the same sort. Then again, mere right wing is indeed mere right wing, regardless of whatever faith it’s based on, the actions chosen do show the details and what to oppose . . .

It isn’t up to college republicans to fight back. It isn’t up to you or I as individuals to fight back. Creaming some ladyboy bully in front of a huge group of leftists is a sure fire way of losing moderate America. Moderate America put DT in office and as long as people like the above don’t get it, we win more and more of moderate America. What we can do is they are doing; be jerks who aren’t actually hurting anybody. Nobody should ever be offended by a banner and a BBQ, but they are and when they are on camera pushing us around, we win.
So I repeat, taking it on the chin and smiling is how we (as individuals) win. Because the game that ultimately wins is the long game, not the current hot topic game.

Don’t misinterpret my lame humor to mean that I disagree with your position, to the contrary, I am in your camp. I do not agree with the insistence that those on the right must always maintain decorum. Pffft! I’m a life long scrapper, which is to say that I do not take a lot of shit. I will give some rope and I would never instigate, but there is a line, that once crossed requires a setting aside of certain niceties. Always and consistently turning the other check generally serves only to embolden the aggressor, which goes a long way to understanding how we got where we are today. No one is going to convince me that being a doormat is the winning path, in the long or short turn.

you’ll have lots of cool stuff just not very many rights.
Until, increasingly, you can’t buy more cool stuff as the supply dwindles, professional help from the likes of doctors to electricians to plumbers becomes harder and harder to find because supply dwindles, many people’s personal aspirations and life satisfaction dwindle because it’s not so much about having cool stuff but using the cool stuff to make more even cooler stuff is what they enjoy, and the cycle continues perhaps not to actual shackles but Venezuela or Cuba. But on a wider international scale.
Personally I’m trying real hard to be optimistic as being in that latter group of people, that’s no world i want to live in.

Hopefully it’s something people will grow out of.

A lot of them look like talking heads to me. There’s a certain kind of odd uniformity about the collection that I’m not sure what to call, but I will note the general lack of tattoos. Also no odd piercings and no persons of blackness or whatever the term is this year. Maybe the 3 Photo Not Available all happen to be Af-Am, but I doubt it. Also few chins and many rounded-off balloon-heads.
Anyone with better facial recognition skills and vocabulary who can try to elucidate what’s up with them?

Yes, millions of Jews died and it took the entire world to save the rest. But the world didn’t step in after they found the death camps, they stepped in when their own best interests were under attack or when it became obvious that they were next on the list. And that is pretty much what is going to happen here as well. Just without all the killing, I hope.
The civil rights movement was different. Dr. King had liberal and religious opinion on his side, it really was a slim majority of Southerners that opposed equal rights for blacks, everyone else just didn’t want to speak up because nobody wants to start trouble. It wasn’t until they saw the dogs and fire hoses that southern public opinion started to sway and everybody else grew a spine. The media helped then, but it won’t help now and that’s okay. They have next to zero credibility in conservative circles and not much more when it comes to moderates on either side of the aisle. Besides that, they are practically irrelevant these days with the internet providing a platform for every conservative blogger in the world to provide the other side of the story to their readership.
How much longer? Not much longer. Because every time a big tough ladyboy barges up full of righteous anger; bravely crumples up a banner and verbally assaults a little brown kid we win, no matter how it’s reported. Note how said decorous creature starts to falter 90 odd seconds in, he doesn’t have the spine for a prolonged confrontation and neither does most of the extreme left. They’ve been given a free ride for decades, been allowed to get away with increased demands and lowered expectations. They’ve been coddled and pampered and insulated from the real world. But now, like the spoiled children they are, they’ve just about pushed too far and need to be put in time out.
This a game moderates can win and we won’t have to play much longer. Public opinion has been swayed and the harder and more ridiculous the left’s demands, the more people will stop catering to them.
