Because Paris isn’t real.
So, someone hacked into the Matrix, then?
Amidst all the complaints of the dangers of Daesh, of hackers from China and Russia crippling the infrastructure of Western Civilization, there is nothing more dangerous than . . . Squirrels.
I think it’s called comeuppance.
She’s quick. 🙂
They disentangle yarn.
“Daphne Basnet of Melbourne, Australia, once paid about $50 on eBay for a 25-pound box of snarled yarn, simply for the pleasure of untangling it. “I was so happy, I can’t tell you,” recalls the 58-year-old of her purchase, a mess of about 120 knotted balls.”
I once spent 20 minutes untangling two sets of Christmas lights. Wouldn’t *pay* to do it though.
Wouldn’t *pay* to do it though.
I’m still processing the news that people sell snarled yarn on eBay.

The shelf lives of single-serving condiment sachets.
This is why I come here.

Ah, that explains some of the tweets I’ve seen this morning.
OT, but interesting: Developing and Testing a Scale to Measure Need for Drama
“We developed and tested a novel scale to measure Need for Drama (NFD), a compound maladaptive personality trait in which people impulsively manipulate others from a position of perceived victimhood.”

Developing and Testing a Scale to Measure Need for Drama
Heh. I’m tempted, but $35.95 is a bit much.
The properties of lenses. Fascinating. I’m always impressed by the sheer amount of specialized knowledge in our modern world.
Whiskey glass of note. Just the thing for a shot of Pappy Van Winkle’s 23yr.
Alphorn in a parking lot. I assume that the car with the open hatch seen in the video is the artist’s conveyance? Which led me to wonder: Do these things disassemble for transport or do you slide them into the luggage compartment with the end hanging out and a yellow flag at the tip as a warning to fellow motorists so that they don’t impale themselves on your Alphorn? Or do they come with a set of wheels and a trailer hitch adapter so you tow them behind your car like a log splitter?
The lady with the bionic arm intrigued me; are the prosthetics getting good enough to consider an amputation and bionic arm in lieu of crippling arthritis or living with other age-related degeneration in the limbs?
“The lady with the bionic arm intrigued me; are the prosthetics getting good enough to consider an amputation and bionic arm in lieu of crippling arthritis or living with other age-related degeneration in the limbs?”
I worked with a chap in the 1970s who had had a leg amputated and he used to complain about itching or pain in the missing limb. Being young and callow I thought that was odd or even amusing (so help me). Phantom limb pain is no joke.
My Federation was 53% “equal”, and that was having to plump for decisions that were not my actual position that were a bit softer than I wanted.
I don’t think that they understand the meaning of the word “Equal” (very clear from the male/female pay question).
They mean “just”, for their version of just. It’s not what I would call just though.
I’m still trying to find the button that allows me to invade my communist neighbours. They appear to have omitted it.

Generally speaking, no way, but there are certainly people with incredible pain and deformity in a limb who may have less discomfort after an amputation (and possibly avoid having another twenty operations). Pre-amputation pain is probably associated with more phantom pain though.
Ah, I only scored a 53% “equality” score in my Oxfam “Kingdom of Cats.” I snarked at them that they should be banished from my kingdom for being so obviously anti-capitalist. The poor silly dears.
HTML 909.
Old school.
Old school.
But not as old school as the actual machine, which I remember once coveting. Of course now I have an app on my phone that not only replaces that particular antique and lots of others, but also most of the studio those coveted boxes used to sit in.
Contrary to popular belief, the world is not flat after all.
Instead, the world is hollow.
Instead, the world is hollow.
And I have touched the sky.
The comeuppance video ended much too soon. I was hoping to watch the lady finish her dance with a face-stomping and crotch-stomping that left her assailant with a shattered nose and pulverized privates.
I always hoped the world would be hollow and like the inside of Conan Doyle’s stories.
Arlo Guthrie Looks Back on 50 Years of ‘Alice’s Restaurant’
“To have what happened to me actually happen and not be a work of fiction still remains amazing,” Guthrie says. “It’s an amazing set of crazy circumstances that reminds me of an old Charlie Chaplin movie. It’s slapstick.”
And during the song itself, about the 11:09 or so mark one finds all kinds of mean nasty ugly looking people on the bench there.
I think the dog on the merry-go-round was simply herding the sheep.
