Gay Patriot ponders the twilight of The Patriarchy:
It’s interesting that the feminists chose Chicago for their “Smash the Patriarchy” message, because nowhere has the Patriarchy been more successfully smashed than in the inner cities. Households led by fathers have become exceedingly rare, single women raise families without husbands, and very few people participate in capitalist enterprises; the inner cities have become radical feminist utopia. How’s that working out for them?
Eric S Raymond does some impolite maths:
That 2% [of the U.S. population, i.e., black males aged 15-24] is responsible for almost 52% of U.S. homicides. Or, to put it differently, by these figures a young black or “mixed” male is roughly 26 times more likely to be a homicidal threat than a random person outside that category – older or younger blacks, whites, Hispanics, females, whatever… 26 times more likely. That’s a lot. It means that even given very forgiving assumptions about differential rates of conviction and other factors, we probably still have a difference in propensity to homicide (and other violent crimes for which its rates are an index, including rape, armed robbery, and hot burglary) of around 20:1. Any cop who treated members of a group with a factor 20 greater threat level than population baseline “equally” would be crazy.
A long discussion ensues.
And Robert Stacy McCain probes the deep feminist philosophy of Ms Emma Watson:
Emma Watson is the actress most famous for her part in the Harry Potter movies. More recently, she has become “Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women,” a job that evidently requires her to say silly feminist stuff on Twitter, e.g.: “Gender equality not only liberates women but also men from prescribed gender stereotypes.” Ri-iiight. Because what guys really need is to be liberated from “prescribed gender stereotypes.” All the hot babes like Emma Watson are crazy for guys who don’t fit “prescribed gender stereotypes,” right? So you will probably be surprised to learn that Emma Watson is dating a bald scrawny impoverished poet the biggest jock at an elite university:
The 23-year-old former Harry Potter film star has recently begun dating a fellow Oxford University student named Matthew Janney… Janney, 21, is not only a student at the prestigious institution, he is also a star rugby player for their varsity team. Despite his prized athletic skills, Janney has also been recognised for something else: his looks. According to the report, the college student was named “Oxford’s most eligible bachelor” and “best looking player” by the university’s rugby team’s official Twitter account.
In other words, an Alpha male, the epitome of “prescribed gender stereotypes” from which Emma Watson says we need to be liberated.
As usual, feel free to share your own links and snippets in the comments.
And speaking of tags, a new one from the McCain article: cisblogonormative.
an Alpha male, the epitome of “prescribed gender stereotypes” from which Emma Watson says we need to be liberated.
It’s what they do, not what they say.
I’ll bet Ron Weasley is totally pissed off
As you can see, Ms Watson’s amour is a big chap, and bearded. Strapping, you could say. Though I suppose it’s possible that Mr Janney is actually a delicate flower and forever gushing tearfully about the burdens of heteronormativity and his own burliness. As rugby players often do.
On stifling enterprise:

bald scrawny impoverished poetthe biggest jock at an elite universityOne wonders if feminists are trying to turn us all into exactly the sort of men they don’t find attractive. Almost as if – oh I don’t know – as if they were a tiny bit resentful of the things that make some men attractive to women?
It’s all bollocks, of course. They haven’t thought through (and don’t remotely believe) all this horsesh*t about men needing to be ‘liberated from gender stereotypes’.
The only reason they say this is when you point out that traditional gender roles (not stereotypes) have advantages and disadvantages for both sexes. You’re trying to point out to them that it isn’t a big system designed to oppress women – as they’ve just been tiresomely claiming – so they quickly change the goalposts and say “yay, well you guys can liberate yourselves too! by supporting all the anti-male BS we say!”
And some guys fall for this rubbish. D’oh
So that’s modern feminism completely invalidated in a couple of paragraphs. Anybody else want some?
Speaking of modern feminism, a group of US college students have come up with a special kind of nail polish that can be used to detect date-rape drugs, and “rape prevention activists” have accused them of helping to promote rape culture:
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2014/08/25/3475190/date-rape-nail-polish/
Star quote:
“One of the ways that rape is used as a tool to control people is by limiting their behavior,” Rebecca Nagle, one of the co-directors of an activist group called FORCE: Upsetting Rape Culture that challenges the societal norms around sexual assault, explained. “As a woman, I’m told not to go out alone at night, to watch my drink, to do all of these things. That way, rape isn’t just controlling me while I’m actually being assaulted — it controls me 24/7 because it limits my behavior. Solutions like these actually just recreate that. I don’t want to fucking test my drink when I’m at the bar. That’s not the world I want to live in.”
War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Stopping Rape encourages Rape.
David – re: The Gay Patriot piece. Yes, yes, but… have you seen the Patriarchy smashers? They’re fan-dabby-dozi!
This man wants to “END RAPE CULTURE” so much he is wearing what appears to be a skirt and has grown A-cups out of solidarity:
Peter Jackson and a cave troll hold up a “RAPE CULTURE” pinyata:
“The Patriarchy Isn’t Going To Smash Itself”. Also, bon-bons aren’t going to eat themselves:
This lady says her hoo-dilly-cha-cha doesn’t define her worth. Let’s hope she’s right:
I wonder what would happen to the lady in hotpants and an off-the-shoulders “Free Gaza” t-shirt if she wandered around Gaza dressed like that:

I half expected to see an arrow pointing from the words “End Rape Culture” down towards the overstretched elastic of his underwear.

I find it more worrying they insisted he produce his NUJ id. The NUJ is a far left group, that assists in distorting reporting.

I rather like the notion that in order to avoid a negative portrayal in the press, the best thing to do is to lock the journalist in a room for half an hour and refuse to let him leave, while acting like a paranoid lunatic.
The original Mr. X – My gast is flabbered by her logic.
One of the ways that rape is used as a tool to control people is by limiting their behavior
Rape is a “tool” to “control” people. Well, Who? Whom?
As a woman, I’m told not to go out alone at night, to watch my drink, to do all of these things.
Who tells her this? Rapists? Nope. Rapists are only too happy for her to dress in revealing outfits and then drunkenly stagger down a dark alley on her own.
Is it “controlling people” if you advise them not to leave their car unlocked, and not to flash their valuables in a rough neighbourhood? Rape, like any other crime, is usually a crime of opportunity. Suggesting people take sensible steps to safeguard themselves isn’t a conspiracy against potential victims of crime.
But feminists don’t want to hear that, because they’re not actually interested in rape per se. They’re interested in rape for the purposes of agitprop.
I don’t want to fucking test my drink when I’m at the bar. That’s not the world I want to live in
I bear good tidings: that’s not the world we live in.
Rape as a result of being drugged by a stranger is exceedingly rare. Its imagined prevalence is an urban myth, like organ thieves, people putting razor blades in Halloween candy, and catastrophic global warming.
Virtually all rapes involving drugs occur after the victim drugged herself – with booze or pills. The good news is that rape and other violent crimes are becoming less common over time. The problem is slowly solving itself.
You’re welcome, feminists.

😀
The poor guy reminds me of the men in skirts in that Two Ronnies sketch where feminazis take over the world.
He has the upper body of a chubby girl, all soft curves and no muscle or hair. And the embarrased shy smile of a virgin who accidentally stumbled into Ann Summers.
I’d take my shirt off at a Slut Walk, but after one look at my hirsute, Victorian strongman chest, all the women in sight would instantly go into estrus and stampede. Like something out of “28 Days Later”, but with pink hair and short-shorts. The resulting child support payments would bankrupt me.
No wonder these girls are so angry and confused with men if the specimens of manhood they are surrounded with look like they use Tena Lady.
I wonder what would happen to the lady in hotpants and an off-the-shoulders “Free Gaza” t-shirt if she wandered around Gaza dressed like that
Steve wins the thread.
How does freedom dress? “cloth” is a video art piece intended to start an inter/intracultural conversation about women, identity, restriction, agency, freedom, and (mis)perceptions thereof. There is a current dichotomy—perpetuated by both academia and popular media—between the supposedly “empowered” and “liberated” Western woman and the “oppressed” veiled woman, as the veil has become “to Western eyes” (Leila Ahmed–Women and Gender in Islam, 1992) a symbol of the oppression of women. This universalising claim, which assumes that a veiled woman would never choose (i.e. is forced) to cover her head, also suggests that the speaker is able to identify a liberated woman and an oppressed woman based solely on her clothing. Because it diverts attention away from forms of structural discrimination and oppression that women (veiled or not) experience around the world, the obsession with veiling as the symbol of women’s oppression impedes thoughtful, productive discussion around gender equality.
You can’t wait to watch it, I’m sure.

Oh dear. Still, I suppose it’s only fair. I’ve made you watch enough bollocks over the years.

Surprise, surprise, the anti-anti-rape hysteria has now reached the pages of the Guardian. I especially love the sniffy aside about the “all-male invention team” in the opening paragraph. Yes, how dare those men try and do something to stop women getting raped! Any true woman (hear her roar) would rather get violated a thousand times than receive any help from The Enemy.
In all seriousness, it’s strange that self-proclaimed feminists should get all sniffy about men trying to stop rape, seeing as how stopping rape is supposedly one of the main goals of modern feminism. Why, it’s almost as if they’re just looking for an excuse to hate men, and all that stuff about “rape culture” is just a pretext.

Steve,
Thanks for the enlightening and illustrative photos. May I suggest, however, that you expand your “google-foo” where the female form is involved. Start with “Sofia Vergara” and work your way up.
Regards.
“Since Illinois started granting concealed carry permits this year, the number of robberies that have led to arrests in Chicago has declined 20 percent from last year, according to police department statistics. Reports of burglary and motor vehicle theft are down 20 percent and 26 percent, respectively. In the first quarter, the city’s homicide rate was at a 56-year low.”

I hate them.
Thought of two funny racist lines.
Dear black guys, thanks for taking all our fat white chicks, but can we please have the white house back?
America is now so fat and feminine she was bound to end up with a black guy that spent all her money.
@Mr. X,
I noticed this sentence at your link: The report said: “By far the majority of perpetrators were described as ‘Asian’ by victims.”
Why, whatever does “Asian” mean in the UK today?
Sorry, prior comment was to Dr. Cromarty.
all the women in sight would instantly go into estrus and stampede
In which direction?
Clarity, Steve, clarity.
Here’s a snap of Emma ‘against prescribed gender stereotypes’ Watson: http://us.cdn281.fansshare.com/celebrity/emmawatson/450_emma-watson-model-1431973008.jpg
It’s not as though Ms Watson has to do these knickerclad come-hither-lolita poses, mind. She’s a multimillionaire who can rely on an acting career without the red-carpet or scanties-modelling exploitative nonsense. She doesn’t have to do it. But for some reason – despite her opposition to gender stereotypes – she continues to choose to do so. Personally I’d prefer to be poor and innocuous and to be fair I’m a bit of a non-gender-stereotype lardster; still at least I’m not a hypocrite. I’d hate to think any young woman is inspired by the poutsy posing Ms Watson

Well, it’s not Thai, Chinese or Mongol.
It’s Guardian/social worker/ channel 4 code for Pakistani Muslim rapist (or other miscreant)

Sorry, Steve2; I have no doubt that, in this case, it does define her worth.
One of the ways that rape is used as a tool to control people is by limiting their behavior
She complains about forces limiting people’s behaviour, yet campaigns against ‘rape culture’. In practice, this means (inter alia) attempting to censor behaviour she finds offensive on the imagined basis that there is an ambient causal link between it and rape.
@Julia & Dr. Cromarty.
I should have added a < sarc > tag to the question. Obviously, preserving political correctness and social diversity is worth several hundred irreparably damaged children.
@R. Sherman

That goes without saying.
I wonder what would happen to the lady in hotpants and an off-the-shoulders “Free Gaza” t-shirt if she wandered around Gaza dressed like that:
I’ve always been bewildered by that. I once saw a photo of somebody carrying a sign at one of the anti-Israel marches saying “Gays for Palestine” or something. In Israel, you can be a transvestite and represent your country at an international music competition. In Gaza, you are tossed off a building for being gay.
But it’s obvious: they’re not marching for Gaza, they’re marching for themselves.
Why, whatever does “Asian” mean in the UK today?
Japanese, obviously. I blame the yakuza.

Weeelllll . . . according to the story, that was more the staff, the reporter doesn’t seem to have gotten locked in, just parked there, and there do seem to be rather a number of followup statements of Oops, that was Not standard procedure . . . .
