Or he dishonestly claimed she jostled him. More likely he set out to block other people’s path and then record the interactions when anyone objected.
Forgiveness is…inappropriate.
A far larger fraction of blacks than whites could enthusiastically become Nazi style death camp killers. Far larger.
ABORIGINES, n.
Persons of little worth found cumbering the soil of a newly discovered country. They soon cease to cumber; they fertilize.Considerate persons who will not trouble the lexicographer of the future to describe them.
The first article I saw implied or incorrectly inferred that the grandmother was responsible. Which really seemed odd to me but I wasn’t interested enough to dig into it. It was just another story of our completely f’d up society that she sends me. I’m just content to see any story that doesn’t reference Caitlin Clark or Karmelo Anthony.
Mr Burkett tries to explain something to Cathy Young.
The point about queuing has cropped up here.
Why is WordPress stripping out the numbered list formatting on that comment?
The New York Post article had the following:
Your call isBBZZTTTcrackleportant to us. Please hold the liBBZZZTTTcrackle.
Ah, thank you. It wasn’t that specific NY Post article that my wife sent me but I now recall it was another one by them. I don’t think the father had been contacted or referenced at the time of the first one.
Her practiced failure to understand is instructive. Cathy Young describes herself as a libertarian/conservative, but given what she says in that linked X thread, and given that she writes for The Bulwark, she might be more accurately described as a leftist wearing a conservative mask–but that applies to many self-described libertarians.
Bugs are easy to fix in the first iterations of a software product, but after a number of years the accumulation of patches and enhancements makes this increasingly difficult.
The West’s ruling class seems hell-bent on applying that sentiment to their own people.
In the replies, someone uses the term feigned obtuseness.
Which doesn’t sound unfair.
David Thompson, Master of Understatement.
A question for our host … if this is true, is it because so many homes in England pre-date washing machines or is this just a design difference? Even the small home I grew up in, built in 1954, the laundry area was kitchen adjacent, but still in its own separate space.
Was he experiencing a “sex emergency”? /sarcasm
You know what else frees up jail space? Executions.
Not sure I’m the best person to ask. I’m guessing it’s related to the age of some homes – and their size, obviously. Old terraced houses and older flats wouldn’t be likely to have space for a dedicated room. Some homes do have a utility room, where the washer and dryer live, but most, I think, live in the kitchen. They’re often hidden away behind cabinet fronts, like dishwashers, etc.
Next week: how to maximise your scatter cushions.
My wife…and consequently, by osmosis I…used to watch a lot of those European House Hunters shows that were popular on HGTV. Haven’t watched lately though…but…it seemed rather common in Italy, France, and Ireland. I don’t recall there being a version that focused on the UK.
On many UK TV shows I’ve seen washing machines in kitchens, usually in those row houses with a narrow front aspect and all the bedrooms also abnormally long and narrow instead of square, the way God intended.
I’m thinking 60 Minute Makeover and similar.
I also used to watch Escape to the Country, and these being larger homes, there was almost always a utility room with the washer/dryer.
But aren’t you our foremost aficionado and practitioner of banter?
“And now for something completely different: John Cleese with a stick up his arse.”
I believe a number of such videos have been posted here, including one of a black man (or should I say “man”?) standing at the foot of an escalator, gripping both sides to block everyone behind him.
Just so y’all know the kind of person you’re dealing with here…I had new tires put on my truck and when they called and asked if I wanted the raised white letter side on the outside or the inside, I said, ” The outside!” I said it clearly, firmly, and forthrightly. Whatever forthrightly means. Because damn you people and your silly conventional conformity…..Even if tires ain’t pretty.
Virtually every instance of borrowing screwed me: money was never repaid, books were never returned, books were mistreated before being returned. . .
Sunny and light winds.
Wouldn’t it be better to hang him for 3 minutes and 6 seconds?
Anonymity for underage criminals should be abolished.
Would you risk your life to pull a reckless driver from a wreck? Seems unwise.
No permits are needed in the United States for an in-window or in-wall air conditioner. Permits for all other types only govern electrical codes and other safety considerations.
The air conditioner permitting process in Europe should be simplified: How about nothing more than “bring us the liver of a government official”?
Clepsydra updated?
I have not heard of this man, but it sounds like he’s one to hear from.
Any insight from across the pond?
a) It says “high speed” without any specification about what that meant. Mr.lnterweb says the speed on the A13 max is 50MPH so “high speed” may be anything over 50, we are dealing with “journalists” after all. Reckless is your inference and relative in any case, Nigel Mansell doing 90 on that stretch might not be the best idea he ever had, but for him, not particularly “reckless”.
b) You just going to sit there and do nothing? I am guessing the rescuers did their own informal risk assessment, maybe there was just some smoke and not a towering inferno when they hauled the driver out. Unless he was hauling explosives wrapped in gasoline or it was a sparky Golf the chances of an instantaneous conflagration are pretty slim, it ain’t like the movies..
Best sleepover ever!
I love this!
I think we’ll give that one a post of its own.
Comments that-a-way.
Doesn’t load for me.
Injecting reason.
Outlier or representative?
Haven’t bothered with Beck in some time. Found his emotional incontinence off-putting. His tying up with the dubious Cary Katz / Mark Levin scheme dispersed what interest remained.
That they will go home is part of what makes it work.
Pity the Australian town crier pronounces ‘oyez’ wrong. It’s not modern French, but an older version, in which the ‘z’ is not dropped.
