Isn’t this rather a case of coals to Newcastle?
Although most male ballet dancers are gay, isn’t it the case that most ballerinas are straight?
According to Grok, small-scale studies do suggest that while male dancers being gay is very common indeed – an estimated 50-60% – lesbian ballerinas are much rarer – an estimated 3%.
I can’t help feeling there’s a joke in there somewhere.
Or a whole sitcom. At least a season or two. Side story? Would never get made though because they would have to work really hard, really hard to make very scold-y and not funny.
That’s slightly higher than the general population, actually.

By the way, The Other Half is currently watching Octopussy.
Just sayin’.
Yes, I believe it.
I repeat, Octopussy.
Assuming grok is correct, Utah supreme court judges are appointed, not elected. However prior to the Supreme Court, Hagen was appointed to the Utah Court of Appeals in 2017 by then-Gov. Gary Herbert, a republican. She stood for retention in the 2020 general election and was retained with about 83.1% “yes” vote. She is supposed up for retention this November. What do you suppose the chances are that republicans will show up to do anything about this? Again, “conservatives” being losers. Agents of their own, pathetic destruction.
BTW, this is the first of what I hope to be daily reminders that the next election (AFAIK) in this country is in Indiana and parts of Ohio on TUESDAY, May 5. There is also one coming up in Georgia and other states (will check later) on TUESDAY, May 19.
Pro-tip that is apparently necessary for republicans…If you look at your watch and see that it is a TUESDAY, ask yourself…”Do I need to vote today? If not, what upcoming TUESDAY will I need to vote, who are the candidates, and what are the issues?” Hope this helps!

Again, assuming Grok is correct:
So who really knows. At first I thought she was the judge who had determined that Map 1 (a redistricting map) had to be used, because Map C (passed by the legislature) violated Proposition 4, which prohibited gerrymandering.
But that was Judge Dianna Gibson.
Here are the two maps:
Map C is what we’ve had for awhile: Salt Lake County divided among the four districts. The GOP draws it like that because Salt Lake County is much bluer than our otherwise deep-red state. Yes, it’s explicitly done to deprive the Dems of a seat.
Map 1 makes Salt Lake County into its own district, and that district would go to a Dem almost certainly.
Utah Proposition 4, passed in 2018, established the Utah Independent Redistricting Commission. This commission was created to ensure fair electoral maps and prevent gerrymandering in the state. The proposition was approved by a narrow margin, receiving 50.34% of the vote.
The legislature has been trying to repeal it, but the judges say they can’t, because it wasn’t passed by the legislature — it was voted in by the people.
Utah used to be a well-run state with decent politics, but now it’s as crooked as a dog’s leg. Lots of people moved here from California seeking lower housing costs while still being in a tech-heavy corridor. It seems that Democrats have been posing as Republicans to get elected, then they subvert things from within. (That could just be speculation from angry voters.)
And it would take about 15 seconds for a thief to unscrew it and make off with it.
Maybe if your light socket is high up or overhead or not obvious, but right there within arm’s reach seems less than secure.

And it would take about 15 seconds for a thief to unscrew it and make off with it.
However, the video of that would have already been captured and it’s cheaper to replace than the system hardwired to your home after that is destroyed. If they make off with it and try to use it, it appears it would be capturing footage there. While I appreciate your input, I think it is worth a try at least.Might even be handy for travel if it can be rigged to keep watch over a hotel room.

I first thought that was a Komondor.
Partly. But republicans still voted for them. Republicans, especially the Romney/Utah types, are vulnerable due to their own brand of moral vanity. A kind of uber-Christian thing that many other Christians suffer from as well. Similar to Canadians. The need to be perceived as ‘nice’ overrides their common sense in regard to self preservation.
Why bother, they are already sentient and prehensile.
They grow up so fast. They’ll be shaving soon.

The surrogacy thing and how it touches on who “owns” a baby and to what degree they do is a huge camel’s nose under the tent for the state taking control of all children. Scoff, call it conspiracy theory. Been hearing it all my life. Yet another of society’s whistling past the graveyard.
Freedom is slavery.
So New Jersey had a special election just a couple days ago. Overall turnout was just 8-10%. The far left democrat won 77,856 to 52,324 votes. The estimated number of republicans in that district is approximately 135,000. The approximate number of democrats is 188,000. Conservatives need to stop whining about shit and just get their sorry, lazy asses to the polls.
“Reform”:
In this context, “reform” means “stop expecting us to pay back those loans.” And also “Don’t stop giving us money that we won’t ever pay back because it is lost to corruption and incompetence”.
Mostly, yes. Likely wouldn’t need the guns if they just showed up to vote tho.
