It says commercial waste, but frankly I have doubts. || Suboptimal scenario. || Suboptimal scenario 2. || Yes, but they could be a little bigger. || Beach glamour. || Actual rollercoaster of emotion. || Smouldering sex kitten. || Not that much. || There’s something to be said for planning. || On misplaced politeness. || At last, an art centre with a protest toilet. || On Agatha’s poisons. “An overdose of nitroglycerine secreted into his favourite chocolates.” || The progressive retail experience, parts 635, 636, 637 and 638. || Pothole encountered. || Poking the anemones. || I didn’t know they did that. || She has many engines in her factory. || What fetish? || Flying highway timber, stabby bathtubs and other lively policing scenes. || Job satisfaction. || Oh, and the world of wonder under your fingernails.

The mental health profession…scare quotes omitted because never sure which word deserves more irony…has been nuts for half a century, likely longer. All societies have nutters. None handle them very well and most cannot resist using the nature of the problem to dispose of people unwanted for other reasons. But allowing nutters to be in charge of deciding who’s a nutter and how nutters should be treated is probably the worst case scenario. Thus here we are. Doing the same thing over and over again. It’s nuts.
High trust societies: when I visited Japan and took the train, you just put your luggage in the area between the cars and go sit down. Nothing stolen. Where I live, my wallet fell out of my pocket at YMCA while doing situps. I did not realize for an hour and went back and there it was on the floor. Either very honest or very oblivious. In my town, the intrusion of Section 8 housing has boosted petty crime. It is a well-off but not rich town (a few rich areas).
You were likely lucky with the ymca. My wife worked at one for a few years. A good number of their trainees/volunteers are people in “recovery” or those with minor criminal background.
[ Orders noodles, awaits feast. ]
The Other Half has been watching The Spy Who Loved Me.
Ah, simpler times.
Future therapist, will specialize in reinforcing delusions and disorders.
Fahrenheit 451 for mental therapy.
Therapists: when I started college I was sure I wanted the sciences but not sure which one. I started in psychology and read dozens of pop sci books on my own. I concluded after a year that a) my fellow students were a neurotic bunch and b) from the books you could argue anything at all (so nothing certain). Changed majors.
My Uni had a large social work program. All the really strange people you met on campus were in the program.
None were theater?
Please do not be too hard on this ignorant colonial.
Not sure if this is autocorrect or native ignorance.
In some good news, some DGAF men stepped in to save a woman from a thug on a train platform.
As for Please do not be too hard on this ignorant colonial. I remind you
In Heaven there is no beer
That’s why we drink it all here
And when we’re all gone from here
Our friends will be drinking all the beer
In hell they have beer. It’s all IPA.
It’s Auburn. Tragedies happen there.
Not the same kind of weird. Theatre kids were fabulous, high energy exhibitionists running around faming all over the place. Social work kids were dark and manic. They were punks or goths with piercings and tattoos, leather and Flock of Seagulls hair. Despite the outward display they also came across as high strung and needy.
Another red flag. Is everyone at the BBC either a commie or a perv?
Men step in to save a woman: Read an account from Nigeria where shop keeper yelled stop thief and the crowd closed around a young man and beat him to death. Was he even the thief? Did he really steal? The is the danger of vigilante justice that “defund police” ignore. In the ‘hood, thieves steal from each other, and the victim gathers his friends to go get his stuff back and someone gets shot.
Best not to.
No, really.
Hilarious: Mamdami declares his economic policy that is against capitalism is “anti-fascist”. Words. What do they even mean? Fascist is when the gov and business work together. The efforts of the Biden/Obama admins to get social media to censor stuff is exactly fascist “working together” as is the debanking of conservatives and even political candidates forced by the gov on banks and credit companies. Remember that Twitter kicked Trump off their platform while he was campaigning in 2020. “Fascist” is just a pejorative devoid of meaning now.
