Welcome to Fear City.

But not sapient.
Moral of the story: Do not annoy the savages.
Cheap snack recommendations…
From the article:
Great googly moogly, these people are unwell, it makes bubble and squeak seem palatable by comparison.
What festival doesn’t have flash bangs going off?
Allahu akbar, eh, hoser.
An old one, our betters explain wool production.
‘Modest‘ seems . . . infelicitous.
Greetings. Like all other Israelis we were wakened at 3 am by an air raid siren and a terse announcement on the Home Front app that this was more serious than the Houthi-related alerts.
Nothing actually was fired at us… it seems the Iranian military was decapitated.
Unable to go back to sleep, we began Sabbath cooking… which was just as well because like many of our peers we are hosting grandchildren whose fathers were called up on short notice.
There waa a bit of a run on dairy and other staples in the local grocery, but no shortages and no lines at the gas stations.
And may i say bravo to Trumpenyahu for one of the great fakeouts… the ruse of Donald “art of the Deal” holding Israel back for one more round of negotiations convinced the Iranians that they were dealing with another Western squish… it also helps Trump with his base, many of whom do not want US boots on foreign soil, for any reason. Rubio’s statemwnt emphasized that.
A Good Peaceful Sabbath to All
May the Lord protect and guide you and yours.
I notice that since we have started streaming Monk, my own tolerance for such things has gotten edgier.
Imagine my disappointment when, half-awake, I belatedly realised that the Compensation Adder is not, in fact, a bonus-awarding serpent.

I read that Iran launched about 100 drones at Israel. Was that a false alarm?
After removing the head, one must next chop up the spinal column.
Yes. And it works. Because it’s not calculus, it’s not based on logic and reason. It has been working for decades, constantly shifting Overton Windows because no one, well no one except “conservatives” cares about logic and reason. As much as I loathe celebrity references, I am constantly being reminded of a line from Bob Dylan’s Infidels album, something that I haven’t listened to in decades, “this world is ruled by violence, but that’s better left unsaid”. “Conservatives” have been brainwashed into not acknowledging this historical truth. Thus here we are.
Looks like a zombie film.
Not unfair.
So it is.
And in expressing-his-inner-self news.
As a former employee…there, I said it, I am not surprised in the least. Government work, even and especially legitimate government work is a scam. Has been going back for ..decades. Centuries likely. Only moderated by the relative wealth of those governments. Saw it in the space program, saw it in defense work. It was obvious to anyone with even the slightest ability to think for themselves. Certain people could discuss it, shake our heads, sometimes, when I (or a couple other guys) just couldn’t take the bloody stupidity anymore, spoke up about it, knowing full well that nothing would come of it, and likely paid some not-a-team-player price for doing so. I would wager that half of even the white people on those lists were of the gotta-be-a-team-player kind and were only getting a bonus for being that way. Oh, and the women. Ah, but that’s just me being bitter. Of course, of course. over
Broader and sinking into crazy talk…It’s a kind of checkbox mentality that government institutions fall for regardless of how severely bad they are. For defense contractors it is amplified by a kind of peacetime military mentality that gets the first wave of indoctrinated soldiers killed. Sometimes I think we really, really need to have wars. Bad ones. WWII level. Facing death focuses the mind on what is real. Eventually that death and destruction starts to affect the system in general and only then do things start to get corrected. Bloody depressing once you see it.
Their drummer drowned tragically from falling off his yacht after an evening of tripping on LSD and watching and re-watching and re-re-watching The Incredible Mr. Limpet. His family filed a lawsuit against Betamax that is still in litigation.
Can these men just… not?
To zombies perhaps.
Best his ‘inner-self’ be expressed peine forte et dure.
As I said on X a few days ago, following this,
And the ongoing my-fetish-is-my-identity fad does rather suggest that quite a few people just don’t have an “inner self” or “true self” worthy of expression.
You know, one solution might be to keep the illegals and deport the wankstains.
“Kill the brain and you kill the ghoul.”
And in expressing-his-inner-self news.
Dude is never around when you need him.
I’m still shocked that Stephanie said wankstains.

Obligatory Bob Hope quote
from the comments:
I run into that a lot: Libertarians and leftists who reject anything which cannot be proved to them from first principles.
Somewhat related to the [citation needed] leftists who reject all citations not from leftist sources. You could have spent you life in an islamo-fascist dystopia, but nothing you say has any merit because you don’t have a degree in “Islamic Studies” from a leftist university.
What, again?
There’s your problem. Nothing to kill.

On the occasions where someone has accused the right, in this situation specifically, of being raaaaaaycis, I like to say that I would be perfectly willing to accept two non-white aliens into our country, provided I or someone I really, really trust gets to vet them, if I could toss out one white leftist woman or similar. Granted there is still cultural risk on the vetting side but tossing out a lefty is a 100%, guaranteed win.
Gratuitous Pride Month meme.
About damn time this guy spoke up. I know wtf he was afraid of but wtf was he afraid of?

Not a drummer joke, but a falling off the yacht joke:
Q: “What kind of wood doesn’t float?”
A: “Natalie”
An oldie but a goodie
For her sake I hope she was using voice-to-text, but I fear not.
