Facts: Some more. Discussion of CO2 above is correct. It is very complicated. But even simpler things are subject to hiding, distortion, jumping to conclusions. For example, the FBI stopped collecting detailed crime stats because it made minorities look bad. How can you discuss “facts” about crime without crime facts? It has been known for decades that raising the minimum wage increases unemployment, particularly of young and minority persons. Unions were big proponents of the min wage because it reduced their competition (Sowell has great explanations of this)–if a black man costs the same as union, people hire union (and unions were lily white for a long time). And yet do-gooders insist that raising the min wage “helps” the poor. Whither “facts” in this debate? It is a fact that a hand-full of trans athletes have taken top place in sports (biking, weight lifting, swimming) and yet advocates insist there is “not a problem” because the number of these athletes is small (which missing the point rather).

But much of what passes for mental illness today in the US really reflects a lack of self-control, social pressure to have unhealthy habits/beliefs, and a lack of a proper spanking.
