Your Guilt Has Been Determined Via Pantone Colour Chart
“There were so many students who came into the school with no preparation for the conversation about race or racism. They knew nothing about white privilege and white supremacy,” social policy professor Amy Hillier said.
It’s a dental school, by the way. For dentists.
It occurs to me that if you’re brandishing the terms “white privilege” and “white supremacy,” and invoking “implicit bias” as if it weren’t laughable woo, such that the indoctrinated must “come to understand” foregone conclusions, it doesn’t sound much like a conversation. More a series of begged questions, whereby some people can be deemed guilty or complicit by virtue of their skin colour.
And yet, if you plan to be a dentist and attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, it seems you must first submit to condescension and insults, and accusations of being either a bigot or an enabler of bigotry, based solely on unchangeable aspects of your appearance. Because apparently you can’t do dentistry without the weird political woo of dogmatic parasites who’ve managed to insert themselves into yet another sphere of life.
The latest UK travel quarantine rules. Retweeted by Old Holborn. Seems about right.

Sure but illegal immigration is still totes ok, right? Anything less would be raaaaaycist.
Fight truth decay.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a humor site?
It seems to be impossible to avoid the wokescolds. I’ve been reading old collections of Dave Barry and Pierre Berton columns.
I’ve been reading old collections of Dave Barry and Pierre Berton columns.
I have fond memories of reading Berton’s non-fiction in my mid to late teens. He struck the right Canadian nationalist chord. He was also the first (Canadian) person I read who was overtly political. I think it was his politics that eventually pushed me away from him. His stance on public medicine would anger many Americans on the right today. But he was a very intelligent, witty man who didn’t display any ivory tower, academic tendencies.
If people want to experience everyday Canadian funny I always recommend Stuart McLean either through his writings but especially through his radio shows–The Vinyl Cafe. In some ways he’s Canada’s Dave Barry.

For maximum entertainment, let’s not allow anybody in.
Simultaneously, we should kick lots of people out.
Fight truth decay.
I’m going to steal that.

Don’t sugar coat it, David. 😀

Well, it seems to me that these clowns prevail and spread their unhappy influence precisely because they aren’t being told, often and quite forcibly, that their behaviour is both pernicious and immoral, a form of psychological abuse, and that they should be ashamed.
There was a young girl called Malone
Who went to the dentist alone
In a fit of depravity
He filled the wrong cavity
Now she’s nursing the filling at home
Is it time to repost this?

And since it’s breakfast time…

And who, pray tell, was going to shame them? Shame itself was denounced as wrong, wrong, wrong decades ago. I remember once, upon hearing a friend of a friend go on a virtue signaling rant about church people (hypothetically in this case) who express shame about others people’s behavior, I replied something to the effect of, “Yes, they are dreadful people. How they sleep at night…”. I must confess sometimes my expressions of irony are a tad too subtle. Sometimes.
“Yes, they are dreadful people. How they sleep at night…”
Indeed. I have pointedly called leftists on their lies and their malevolent intentions, but shaming them never changed them into actual decent human beings. Really, leftists are like carjackers and rapists: the only things that stop them from doing evil are punishment and exclusion from society.

Dismal reading in The Financial Times, which published an article with the title ‘Black Lives Matter ushers in new era for diversity officers’.
I’ve linked to it here, but it may not be accessible to everyone.
Still, the upshot is that “chief diversity officers” who we are told “have long complained of being under-resourced and organisationally siloed” have suddenly found themselves thrown into the spotlight in the wake of George Floyd’s untimely end.
Having initially been targeted for swingeing cuts at the beginning of the lockdown period, following the death of Floyd, posts advertising diversity and inclusion roles on recruitment site Glass Door jumped by 55% in the summer and by November of last year had reached an increase of 245% over the beginning of the year.
They interview a number of Directors of Diversity and Inclusion one of whom, Sheree Atcheson, global director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Peakon, is reported as suggesting “many [diversity executives] compromise their work by tiptoeing around white colleagues who are in denial about systemic racism”.
Atcheson then goes on to complain about (presumably white) “allyship” and is quoted as saying that nobody can just expect to “start off as an ally without understanding that we have gotten to the position we are in because people have been evil,”.
It seems reasonable to assume that what this means is that no amount of pleading will spare you from the punishment that is your due. So the message seems to be: ‘Assume the position!’.
All of which reminds me again of the insanity of Savanorola’s Florence, which in turn always makes me think of this clip here, which I like, despite the wooden of the child actors.
“equity and inclusion at Peakon”
*curiosity piqued*
“Peakon is an employee success platform that converts feedback into actionable insights”
*shrugs*

Yeah, don’t worry about it.
It’s just one company, right?
I mean, it’s not like you see it anywhere else or anything …
Yeah, don’t worry about it.

I was wondering what business plan includes “an employee success platform” as a profitable venture.
FWIW, when running into the WMB* syndrome, I wheel out my aboriginal parentage. Watching the illiterati stumble over that is priceless…

When I was writing the message, I initially thought to include a link to Peakon.
However, having found it impossible to work out what exactly Peakon is or does, even after clicking on several links of their website, I thought better of it.
Watching the illiterati stumble over that is priceless…
Heh.
Yes, I can imagine how that might cause some turmoil.
One can only hope this is an elaborate hoax.
The significance of it if not …
H/t Titania McGrath
One can only hope this is an elaborate hoax.
Would Tiger Woods have to attend ALL of those sessions? Theoretically, of course.

Brentwood, eh? Rings a bell, that does.

An outbreak of common sense. Finally, some good news.
“There were so many students who came into the school with no preparation for the conversation about race or racism.”
And still less preparation for the conversation about IQ scores.
One can only hope this is an elaborate hoax.
The significance of it if not …
I don’t think it is a hoax–it appears to be the same divisions as mandated in the diversity discussions which were divided into “Black” and “White” sessions by the King County, WA library system.
Jim Crow lives.
There’s a rather good essay here about our lap-dog media class:
https://unherd.com/thepost/the-new-reign-of-the-imperious-slay-queen/
This rang particularly true:
… on more than occasion during the Trump era journalists would express outrage over some Third Reich-like policy of the Republican administration, only for someone to point out it had already been in place under Obama, except no one had bothered to report it.
That Obama was such a dreamboat.
All those ‘diverse identity sessions for people who are white/black/hispanic/middle Eastern…it would be tedious to have to go multiple ones if, say, your mum was ‘white’ and your dad was ‘black AND hispanic’..do you go to 3 different sessions? How to decide which one to identify with?
That Obama was such a dreamboat.
“Progressive” journalists get soo moist for Obama, just like they used to get moist for Mussolini.
With regard to the smug sense of superiority of the Wokels Quadrant Online [Australia] has just published the following article which considers the nagging behaviour of the nutty squirrels who inhabit the fantasy world of the Left and the characteristics of such moralising rodents.

Geeze. I spent most of my career working in Africa, and never once enjoyed the spiritual uplift of attending struggle sessions on the travails of being in the wypipo micro-minority.
