Oh, and via Dicentra, and in a shocking turn of events, here’s an intersectional feminist – pronouns she/her/hers – telling you what to do:
As you might imagine, she has some further thoughts.
She seems nice.
She seems nice.

Ms Rao does seem to have internalised most of the expected tics of wokeness, from her proudly racist fixations and faux-emotional dramatics, to the needless declaration of pronouns, and her use of “AF” (as fuck) after every third utterance.
Oh, and pronouncements of this nature:
She’s teaching us, you see.
When not retweeting people calling her “fearless,” Ms Rao turns her gimlet eye to current events:

Today’s word is symbolism.
More:
Sure she did.
Ms Rao – who tells us she endures the weight of “white supremacy” and denounces Mr Trump as a “fascist dictator” – studied Law at the University of Virginia and NYU. Apparently, she’d like to work in television. She has the winning personality for it, clearly.
But failing that, a career in politics would do. According to her own publicity material, Ms Rao is “one of the country’s strongest voices for social justice, equity, and inclusion.”
Which may explain her daily epithets about “white people” and their many, many faults.

That.
That.
She’s bringing us together with unrelenting racial divisiveness.
That.
On the upside, it’s another data point for my theory that intersectionality, and wokeness generally, is the moral analogue of bone cancer. And the next time you hear sweet cooings about “social justice, equity and inclusion,” you may want to bear in mind the kind of creatures most attracted to these things. Ladies like Ms Rao, for instance.
Ms Rao is “one of the country’s strongest voices for social justice, equity, and inclusion.”
. . . . . . . Who?
A reminder that patriarchal white supremacy depends on false notions of scarcity.
Not an economist then.
Not an economist then.
No, but Ms Rao has clearly been educated. Quite severely.
Which, I suppose, raises the question of how long this educational processing can be allowed to spread, with increasing perniciousness, before the cultural damage is beyond repair. At the moment, the analogy that comes to mind is of allowing people to shit in the village’s only water supply.
Tim Newman, here.
And now for something completely different, you too can have a personal electronic grass.
“Academics”, of course; Google and Amazon deciding what is ethical, what could possibly go wrong ? Mr. Smith was unavailable for comment, but I’d bet the farm Miss Rao would be down with the notion.
Smart assistants could soon come with a ‘moral AI’
The smart assistant on my phone is currently trying to convince me that a packet of smoked haddock fillets is actually blueberry muesli. Or possibly porridge.
So, I’m full of confidence.
Liberating mankind from The Myth of the Gendered Brain. Meet the guy doing this important shattering:

Damn wypipo and their (picks random card from deck) thinking the word “inclusion” actually includes them.

Oh, and this too:
Quite how Ms Rao reconciles this claim with her fully-intersectional damn whitey attitude is not entirely clear.

“It’s not cognitive dissonance. Not a bit of it. It’s just … discordant harmony, that’s all.” (said smugly)
the analogy that comes to mind is of allowing people to shit in the village’s only water supply
Exactly, though I’d add “and requiring those wishing to be in power to drink it and smile”. It’s easy to get depressed seeing this daily hateful idiocy, but I do sense that we’re in the middle of a slow but significant change. You can only allow that sort of blatant hatred to go unchecked before creating more enemies than friends. As the movement desires ever more purity and bombastic displays thereof it will eventually make all but the most invested allies say, “cmon now, that’s a bit harsh”. A mere crack in the coalition is all it takes, and I think we see such cracks forming everywhere.
The movement is nearing it’s final stage. When it does it will either completely subsume the culture or be violently cast out.
The smart assistant on my phone …
Don’t ‘ee go messing with they new-fangled mechanical devices, David. Get out before it’s too late.
I vote for “violently cast out.”
Smithers! Release the “eggs”!

It’s too late. I’ve been seduced.

Treat everyone the same… damn whitey
This is a perfectly cromulent viewpoint if “whitey” is not included in “everyone” by dint of not really being human. Being a “thing”. A malign entity.
A bit chilling, to be frank.
In her defense, the only whites she interacts with are liberal whites, and who wouldn’t want to tell them to STFU?
Excellent point.
David, you are (?) a white cisblah blah blah blah phone-ist.
ARE you white? If you are, we don’t have to follow the rules any more! No more coasters!
A discussion involving a TV remote.
A bit chilling, to be frank.
Wypipo are no ones.
My son has 3 remotes. I no longer remember how to use them in their correct order. On the rare occasions I want to watch TV, I walk over and push the ON button & then the channel selector. Plus ca change…
Down with oppressive colonial coasters!

Now we know where that guy at the Oscars got his full-skirted dress…
Thank goodness we have upper-caste Indians around to tell us how evil and discriminatory we are.
My son has 3 remotes.
Where did you get them? There are people I’d like to mute, and a few slow ones I’d like to fast-forward.
consider taking the rest of the day off from being toxic.
#LeftiesProject.
Hee hee hee hee hee—he OWNS 3 remotes!
(Would you believe English is my native language?)
I’m getting the growing impression that Twitter is the home of all the insane people who used to talk to themselves on the subway, joined by those who live in areas with no mass transit.
Prove me wrong.
Cuz The Guardian’s gotta Guardian.

Subhed: The media reaction to the actor’s alleged fabrication shows how ‘victimhood culture’ is used as a means to attack minorities
No victims found. Minorities hardest hit.
I considered taking the rest of the day off from being toxic, but then realised every lefty who ever walked the planet has made it their life’s mission to be full on toxic all the time and in every situation.
So I carried on being me. Sorry, Saira.
Cuz The Guardian’s gotta Guardian.

What?
How did postmodern intersectionalism so effectively kill self-awareness? Really, you have to be completely divorced from yourself to be so irony-deficient. If Ms. Rao can’t substitute any other race for “white” in her tweet and see a problem then we are well and truly doomed. For an ideology that throws around the word “problematic” with great aplomb, it’s problematic its believers cannot identify real problems.

I suspect it’s a case of woke politics appealing to vanity, indeed narcissism. Habitual self-flatterers aren’t usually known for their self-awareness, or reciprocal habits of mind.
I don’t know, David, that sounds problematic to me.
Wondering why our modern idiots lack self-awareness is a little like asking why Christians believe in a god. Self-awareness is the result of personal accountability and individual agency. Things which, if embraced, do not allow someone to be such an idiot. IE, to ask is to answer.
We’re all hypocritical petty assholes, but most of us have a built-in limiter based on the concept of accountability and strengthened by humbling life experiences. Instead of a limiter these people use personal flaws and failings as jet fuel for their solipsistic narcissism.
What?
[Proudly] [w]rong about everything. All the time.

Yeah…I got some bad news, you better sit down…

My personal experience and observation of the different people that I have known over 25-50 years or so is that people that develop this sort of attitude, this solipsistic narcissism, are those who either never or very rarely engaged in objective endeavors. When forced to any degree they shied away from such things, made excuses, were frequently absent. The few people whom I have known who were and are still like this tended to excel at talking or writing or things associated with law or history, rarely sports or math or professions such as carpentry or plumbing or electrical work. I have never encountered a moderately successful plumber or carpenter, certainly not an engineer or software developer, who had this sort of attitude. Management is somewhat another story…but I digress… The process of meeting some kind of objective standard tends to weed this crap out. Imagine a world in which people like this or Laurie Penney or damn near most college professors were first required to work a couple decades doing real work before they could become artists or teachers or professional chatterers.

Only a little like. As their first tenet, Christians simply magnify an Agent of supreme moral agency so as to govern their petty asshole.
And/or: A random universe produced a global G-d instinct, right out of thin vacuum. Reason sees this as ample cause.
It’s not nearly as much a problem as it is a riddle.
I sure do hope “Govern your petty asshole!” becomes part of the lexicon around here.
A handy meme for the ages – if only Chesterton had Twitter.
