Not Quite Getting Over It
From time to time, I wonder whether I overuse the word psychodrama. And then, within days, I find another one of these:
Update, via the comments:
Apparently, Ms Cranz is “ignoring those fucks” – the boys who upset her at school, the boys who could “DEVASTATE” her by smirking or being confident, more confident than she was – and she’s ignoring them by referring to them, passionately, angrily, as if they were of crushing importance, and letting them shape her worldview as a supposedly grown woman. Such that she publicly airs her hang-ups about confident, smirking schoolboys, and construes those hang-ups as activism. Proof of woke righteousness. You see, she’s “dismantling their power structures” by letting them have power over her, in her mind, years later.
Regarding the “boy from Kentucky,” the one whose expression and skin colour so enrage Ms Cranz, see this, and this, and this.
Oh, and this too.

Nathan Phillips is trying to claim the high moral ground [and gain more attention] by wanting to meet with the students: He’s ”offering to travel as a delegate representing the international coalition behind the Indigenous Peoples March to Covington Catholic High School in and have a dialogue about cultural appropriation, racism and the importance of listening to and respecting diverse cultures,” he said in a Tuesday news release. Further he states: “I have read the statement from Nick Sandmann, the student who stared at me for a long time. He did not apologize, and I believe there are intentional falsehoods in his testimony,…” and ”I’m just working for a better future for all of our children,” he said. “But, I can’t work with liars and thieves.” and ”He (Sandmann) stole my narrative, … From the time I hit that first beat of the drum until I hit the last beat, I was in prayer. Now all of a sudden, he’s the prayer guy and the passive one.”
It’s a bit hard to see the lad as the aggressor when he was standing in place with his school fellows where he was supposed to be and Phillips marched up and stuck a drum in his face without speaking. From a behavioural perspective the young lad did the right thing by standing still: he asserted his right to be where he was and did not back down to a Man who was being extremely provocative. He was not aggressive. Sandman’s active passivity was powerful and effective and I’m damn sure that Phillips did not expect a boy to be so strong. Now Phillips is trying to paint himself as a combination of Noble Indian and a Redeemer though it’s a bit hard to paint oneself as a healer when one has called the other party a liar and a thief. It is perhaps the word ”thief” that is of most importance: Nick Sandman, by being strong and maintaining self-control, ‘stole’ the attention Phillips wanted for himself. Phillips wants to get that attention back.
I hope they do not meet with Phillips; he will be reinforced immensely [by his apologists] for being the Noble Indian Redeemer.
”He (Sandmann) stole my narrative”
Nice to have a confession from the Freon Ranger that he felt HE was in charge of a narrative HE was creating in opposition to the facts.
Sandman should just say, “Hey, I learned from your generation never to trust anyone over 30. So take a hike.”
Holy crap. Make it stop.
Wait, that Mass-crashing happened on the 19th? The day after the Mall incident? And we’re just hearing about it now, only from CNA?
WTF.
Holy crap…
Where is his respect for “sacred spaces”? /spit
…Make it stop.
I hear that Nathan Phillips is now trying to raise money on the internet under the pretense that he is a Vietnam Veteran being victimized by white racists. That puts his false claims within reach of the law:

Nathan Phillips, Freon Ranger.
I LOLed. Shipley is a magician at exposing phonies, for the guys who were actually in, their embellishments are generally what trips them up. If he just said he was a vet, or a Vietnam Era vet, nobody would have said a thing.
I won’t take credit for coining “Freon Ranger” but it is brilliant and needs to be shared.
I immediately got this visual ala Dr. Strangelove where Major Kong is riding the bomb – Nathan Phillips riding a harvest gold 1970s refrigerator …
So. Nathan was “praying” the whole time He was banging his little drum in Sandmanns face. Cuz, Native American.
Ok
I’m an Elder of the EE (Traditional Rite) Community. I pray by attaching electrodes to convenient bystanders. The organically educed music is essential and sacred.
So no complaints later, K?
What a narcissist.
peeve
Yeah, that’s my other peeve. Hey, if Literally no longer literally means literally, I’m gonna use my own poetic license to spell how it looks right to me. Which would damn near qualifiy me to be a journalist anyway. Spit.
I’m an Elder of the EE (Traditional Rite) Community.
David, Fred drinks free tonight.
So. Nathan was “praying” the whole time He was banging his little drum in Sandmanns face.
I wonder what he was actually chanting. A quality audio recording and an expert translator might reveal something interesting.
Gosh! Throw out a term like “blame” in jest and stimulate an actual discussion.
I could just as well have blamed the red dye in the MAGA hat worn by the kid. Why is the hat red? Could that be a nod to Putin?
So, I now blame the color red when used in a MAGA hat, AND Twitter.
If the hat were blue would it elicit such reax?
Nathan Phillips, Freon Ranger.
Next thing you know he’ll claim to have been the Mayor of Toronto from 1955 to 1962.
Meanwile, in today’s exciting episode of Tales Of The Unbelievable…
The comments are gold:
RTWT, commenter “XYDXX” is a real gem.
Jaysus, Farnsworth, how do you stand more than 15 seconds of scrolling that stuff?
NO WONDER these future cat ladies resort to “Tinder dates” and they can’t even get that right.
Has anyone rational explained how the lads were supposed to know the crazy-eyed old geezer, who emerged from the pack abusing them, was, in fact, a wise native Vietnam veteran elder bringing peace and harmony?
Or how a bunch of Kentucky boys are supposed to know the appropriate response to a Wattawanka tribal chant of racial healing?
Steve E, he’s just a square.
(Must say I’m kinda fond of Allan Lamport myself.)
I’m sensing it may be time for an open thread. Here you go.
@ lotocoti: ”Has anyone rational explained how the lads were supposed to know the crazy-eyed old geezer…”
Reportedly Phillips marched up to girl first and she, terrified, took off. Then he went for young Mr Sandman who, as we have seen, is made from sterner stuff and, rightly, stood his ground.

Morbid curiosity, an interest in psychological pathology, and Sun Tzu.
Mainly morbid curiosity, though.

Bless her dear heart.
Bless her dear heart.
. . . . . She is volunteering to be targeted first, isn’t she?
She is volunteering to be targeted first, isn’t she?
She probably identifies as non-white.
Reply to Nathan Phillips and his leftist allies:

This really should be Reply of the Moron Horde, as a shout-out to the Ace of Spades blog.

Those Zaporozian Cossacks had a way with words:
”O sultan, Turkish devil and damned devil’s kith and kin, secretary to Lucifer himself. What the devil kind of knight are thou, that canst not slay a hedgehog with your naked arse? The devil shits, and your army eats. Thou shalt not, thou son of a whore, make subjects of Christian sons; we have no fear of your army, by land and by sea we will battle with thee, fuck thy mother….
So the Zaporozhians declare, you lowlife. You won’t even be herding pigs for the Christians. Now we’ll conclude, for we don’t know the date and don’t own a calendar; the moon’s in the sky, the year with the Lord, the day’s the same over here as it is over there; for this kiss our arse!.”
I must remember to use some of their invective next time some idiot upsets me.
Jim.
“Those Zaporozian Cossacks had a way with words”
Yes indeed.
